STAY AWAY! Guys honestly dont ever order online with these guys. If they dont have the product you want in store stay away because boy will you be disappointed. If you cant physically see it stay away!Dont think Ill ever buy from Sound Select ever again. And you honestly think that theyre professional but the store is run worse than a spaza shop. You have to follow up on an order yourself. You dont get call backs when they say theyll call you back!Should have taken previous reviews I read more seriously.Sorry but never again.

SUPERB service. I recently purchased a full CDJ + MIXER set up, after months of searching.. I ended up getting the Denon SC5000s and X1850 mixer after seeing soundselects amazingly low pricing on the 3 products. In addition to this set up they had a great quality flight case custom made for me, for this set up, which came at a highly competative rate compared to ready made, mass produced, flight cases.Where the service quality really showed was when 1 of the players was experiencing an issue. There was a difference in BPM between what was showing on the player and the actual output. After much trouble shooting between me and Ronny (who i will chat more about later in the post), Ronny put me in touch directly with a guy from Denon who eventually gave me an answer to the question. It turned out to be a hardware issue that Denon were aware of and the player needed to be returned and swapped. Bear in mind i live in CPT and both these guys are based in JHB. They managed to source me a replacement within 1 HOUR of finding the issue, i was absolutely amazed at how far out their way they went for me to rectify the issue immediately. Soundselect went and got the unit from somewhere else and met me at the shop for an instant no hassle replacement. All the employees at the Cape Town branch were extremely friendly, really easy to talk to and you can tell they love to chat about DJ equipment, exactly what you need when youre looking to buy new equipment ! every question i had they had an answer, no matter the equipment. They showed me around the store, showing me ALL their stock before me needing to shoot back off home. For that reason i HIGHLY suggest you go instore and find out for yourself how good the Soundselect team are.This was all made very much possible by an employee called Ronny, a guy who is very much involved in the music scene in South Africa. He was there from me making the initial enquiry all the way to me receiving the full set up and flight case. He has ensured that i have received the absolute BEST service possible while also being a good person along the way, being extremely polite and friendly. Ronny is a prime example of how employees should operate in the retail space. i cannot give enough praise to him.Quite a lengthy review but a much deserved one. Soundselect is an example of retail done right. I will buy as much of the equipment i ever need from Soundselect after this experience. Caring, efficient, amazing prices and a whole team willing to give you their best !

We were thinking of opening a small, private dance floor at a building of ours, went to see what they had. The salesman was a pleasure who made sure he got our needs sorted first and recommended the basic to amazing set up, without pushing the most expensive. They have everything needed for small venues, events to much large requirements. They also cater for aspiring DJs with beginner classes, to serious players in industry.. I have purchased two tickets for an auction that took place in February 2021. The action itself was falsely advertised. There was an auction list and social media posts stating the items that would be on auction but come the day of the auction some of those items was not on site or auction. Those missing items was the main reason my business partner had made the trip from Durban to johannesburg to attend which a waste of time and money on our side. Fast forward to the present day I have been trying to get a refund on the auction tickets for the past five weeks to no avail. I have been communicating with sound select via email and social media. They have been lying to me that the refund will be done and then stop replaying to my messages. Please do not trust these thieves with a single cent! I have proof of all communication available on request.Please find their hello Peter page which show similar reviews from customers who cannot get refunds as promised.Two months later today the 8th of October 2021, I have given soundselect a second chance as I have received a phone call minutes after my first review and was promised the world..... Here is my second review which can also be found on hellopeter....It beats me how soundselect has survived this long with their online business! Its the second time now that I have given them the benefit of the doubt. I have placed an order online on the 19th of September. I received an email stating my estimated delivery date would be between 23-27 September. I was informed a few days after my oder that one item I had ordered was out of stock. I had replied to the emial advising what to replace the out of stock item with and that was the end. My emial was never responded to. I followed up with two phone calls to speak to the guy handling my order, he was busy both times and never returned my call. I followed with around two emials and finally got a reaponce. Fast forward to date and my order has still arrived nor has he returned my call or emailed me regarding my replacement on the out of stock item as promised. The sad thing is I have found many items that I would like to purchase and took a chance with just three items first when giving them a second chance, so I ask how on earth have they survived online for this long??? They clearing dont have the capacity or customer skills to deal with online orders!

Ordered online and ended up having to drive 40 minutes to go collect the keyboard myself after being fed stories for 4 days. There was no apology. Note that they do have a driver but didnt use him.

They gave me the best price and their service is amazing, you feel apart of the family when you enter the shop , I am definitely going to buy from them again.

I ordered and paid for a Beamz Showbar R 8150.00 including R 250.00 courier cost from GP to KZN on 22/8/2021 via their on-line facility. Ive ordered this light for a wedding that I will be having in the Midlands on the 28/8/2021. I had to phone and follow up on this order and to date havent received it!!!!!Had I known what I know now, I would have ordered this item from Bounce-online for R 8250.00 it was R 100.00 more expensive and no additional courier costs which they offer for free. I would have had this item delivered to me by the latest Wednesday 25/8/2021. I guess as the adage goes you get what you pay for!Worst of all is that this reminds me of my on-line experience with A1 sound recently as well. If you want to order DJ equipment on line I HIGHLY recommend Bounce on-line or TOMS which is also based in JHB/GP.You dont have to follow up on your orders, you get notified of your order progress, delivery date and tracking number. Why should I the customer have to follow-up on orders?In comparison, I also placed an order for a variety of items with TOMS the same day and the goods was delivered on 25/8/2021 via the Courier Guy. I wont be buying my DJ equipment from this shop anytime soon again. Sound Select you have let me down BIG TIME!!!!I was phoned by Ronny one of the sales persons that I was in contact with and was advised whilst typing this review that the item will only be delivered on 30/8/2021 VERY, VERY disappointing!!!!!!!

I was defrauded by this company and I am planning on filing an affidavit at my nearest police station against the director which I then have to submit to my bank in order to receive my money. They do not respond to your emails or phone calls. Be careful with this business.UPDATE 05/07:Any person that reads the companys responses must note that they are lying and their explanation is a total fabrication.They requested my banking details on the 22nd of June which was then forwarded to them 13 minutes later. They never contacted me saying that I sent them the incorrect banking details afterwards.When I contacted Hayley 7 days later on the 29th of June after not receiving my refund, she called me Lebongang and stated that they only processed refunds in batches and she would send me proof of payment once they refund me my money, this did not happen.From the 14th of June when I placed an order, they have constantly made excuses & lied. I have the call logs and emails to prove this. They took my R 5695.00 and still havent sent me proof that they have since returned it.They sold me an item 21 days ago which they did not have in stock then gave me the run around. Selling non-existent stock is fraud.When I requested a refund, they continued making excuses and lying. Hayley only responded to my email making more excuses as to why they havent returned my money after I wrote this review.Its been 13 days since I requested a refund. I still do not have my money.

I purchased a haze machine from Sound Select and despite it being sold as new, it was second hand, with several parts and the user manual missing. A month after returning the unit, they have still not passed a credit for it and havent replied to any of the emails I have sent. Very disappointing service.

Items not delivered on time - No refund 61 Days and counting - Bad Business EthicsOrdered a sound system and paid for on the 2 March 21 for a company function of the 6 March 21. Despite promises, items were not delivered and we had to make alternate arrangements on the morning of the function to hire equipment. Order was subsequently cancelled and a refund was promised. To date no refund has been received and despite numerous phone calls and e-mails, there has been no response.Both Tim and Hailey are nonchalant and do not respond at all to any requests. This company has no business ethics and i feel like i have conned out of my money.I have asked to speak to the owner Arik Svilisky and apparently he does not speak to customers and his number and email address is not available to customers.PAY BACK THE MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Update 5/5/21: Received a call after this review from Arik (owner) who apologized and ensured the refund was done which i received with another follow-up call to ensure everything was in order. Thank you for finally resolving this.

Ordered a Guitar pedal and was to be delivered within a week, more than a week passed and no update. Asked for refund and only to not be answered and now there is no update on anything, really bad service...(Update a month and half later) Had to get Ombudsman to get my refund as this place is absolutely pathetic and malicious. Did not make any attempt to resolve my issue and give my refund as per their refund policy. Dont buy anything from them!Would not recommend.

We bought our son a beautiful online electric guitar and was amazed by the immediate response we received despite it being 10pm at night. The service was quite and efficient. We had a bit of a hiccup with the colour of it but we then received a call from Luke who managed the situation professionally and in an outstanding manner. Went there 2 weeks ago to buy a condenser mic and the staff was nonchalant and not bothered. One of the guys even yawned loudly as we arrived. How rude? The receptionist was not friendly either and more concerned with the personal call she was on. I wouldnt recommend going to the store. Buy online if you really have to.

The specials are absolutely amazing!!!The sales people are on point!!!The Boss/manager is easy to talk to!I must say that Sound Select is the best place to buy any audio equipment, you get both satisfaction and can literally see how competitive their prices are (affordability)... I once bought a pair of audio Technicas, I just bought a pair of Pioneer RM-07 and truth be told Im already planning on buying more stuff. Extremely bad service. Will never encourage anyone to take an instrument there for repairs. I have been trying hopelessly to get feedback on the repairs of my instrument for 5 MONTHS NOW! Yes, 5 Months. And the techinician in charge of my repairs ignores my following up completely, and when he does answer my query, he doesnt know anything. After payment up front ofcourse! Pathetic Service.

Standards have dropped to shocking levels. Had to put up a fight to get my Pioneer DDJ SB3. After receiving it, it was faulty. I had to send it back. The staff has been promising to call me back but they wont. Its been over a month calling in everyday to find out when will I get back my item. Called to make sure of stock of a specific turntable. They confirmed they had it. I bought it only. Next day they let me know they dont have it, but they have the model one level higher (and more expensive). I asked for details on how I can pay the difference to get that. They called me back a few minutes later saying that one was in fact NOT available either, but an even more expensive one was available. So now we are sitting at just over 50% higher cost.

I ordered headphones from Sound Select online store (early August) . A few days later, I was told via email that there is no stock and I will be refunded. This was over a month ago. South Select is not returning my calls or answering my emails. Im at my wits end. I STILL have not been refunded.

So I had to phone THEM and asb for a refund ... A lady named Hayley answered - lovely voice , unfortunately this has been an issue from the 9th of September and it is now the 25th of September and not even a notification has been sent that tells me my money is on the way ! Everytime Hayley tells me that it will be processed within the next 2 days , I AM STILL WAITING ! WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO GET MY R3000 FROM YOU GUYS !

Ordered an item, for some reason it seems like its been used as there was no cables to connect in the box besides the power adaptor. Requested a refund 2 weeks ago but this will only be refunded when they want it to be. I have never used this item as it did not come with the nessesary cables and i just get ignored and no one contacts me back.. but when they sent me 2 of the same parcels twice i return it immediately.. They said they would send me a free pair of headphones for the inconvenience but more lies... i will never order from here again. Too much back and forth at this place and no one knows what they are doing.I have changed to 2 stars as someone has finally gotten back to me.

I have purchased from SoundSelect multiple times.I have always received my products in good condition, on time and it has always matched the specifications on the website.Their website is always up to date with a wide variety of products.I have found that responses to emails might sometimes take a while, but phoning them has always resulted in a satisfactory quote. They also have the best prices in the market by far and will usually try to beat better quoted prices if asked.The shop has multiple display rooms where you can see and test a lot of the products.Would recommend to anyone.
