Variety of sweets r available here, jalebis are just perfect. But my experience with kajukatli of this place was not good, kajukatli was dry n hard... Was not soft as it should be... May b it was not fresh ..

Walking into this place is like walking into Heaven. The sweet and aromatic scent of authentic sweetmeats is so enticing that I made a special trip the minute I arrived in Johannesburg, and it was my last stop 8 days later when I departed .They are well known for their Habshi Halwa which is freshly made on site. They have 3 types of Halwa. A variety of Burfee and other delectable delights.Centrally situated in the heart if Fordsburg, convenient corner location and I have always managed to find parking directly in front of the store.I carried a cooler bag to keep the treats chilled, as its freshly made from pure ingredients and to me it has to be eaten cool.Staff are amazingly helpful and efficient.Do try their Shalimar brand rice as well.

I went in at the request of a friend to buy her Chana Magaj.What horrible service! While attending to me the guy behind the counter started to chat with what I assume was a friend that just came in...He then became annoyed as I kept asking the cost of the various sweet meats. I struggled to understand what he was saying, and he made absolutely no effort to clarify himself - perhaps have ing labels with price tags would help with that.He looked at me in disdain and turned to a colleague pointed at me and laughed...I was so excited to go there and try out what everyone keeps raving about...Utterly dissapointed.

The Shalimar Bakery offers a wide range of delicious, high quality indian/ Pakistani delights. The barfi is my absolute favourite — no one can make it as delicious as the one sold at this store. If youre looking for the best sweets in South Africa, go to Shalimar Bakery, you wont regret it.

I often visit this very popular shalimar delights sweet shop. They are dealing with Pakistani delicious , yummy sweets products and they are covering all range of sweets. I love their gulab jamun, rus gulley, and specially rus mlai.

This shop often has great service, the quality ever since I was a child was city famous and in a league of its own.For quality, it is the number one place in fordsburg to purchase your sweet meats.Affordability on the other hand is tough to judge, perhaps the prices could be better, but the amount of ingredients that gos into these items, it is understandable.

I wanted to explore some of Indian baked goods but the guys were not helpful. They were not so keen to even recommend what would be nice. And what I bought was not nice, yet expensive.

Indian delights specialist. I think theyre are overpriced, their service isnt as one would expect and the quality of their products has room for improvement!

Though the sweet meats are really tasty... unfortunately,the level of service is atrocious!! I only go back to this place because my wife insists ( based on the taste) BUT if I could have my way long ago,I would have NEVER put my foot back in this shop after the very 1st visit there...The staff are somewhat arrogant and unfriendly (as if they doing you a favor). I have NEVER seen a smile on their faces in the past 2 years that my wife has been supporting this business. Good Customer Service is foreign to these foreigners who clearly dont know how to carry themselves...what they dont realize is that a customer is key to every business and without customers,the business just wouldnt exist!!! Word to the owner...teach your workers to learn to treat your customers with respect and a smile on their faces As for me and my family and friends....we certainly will not be going back there in the future!!

Service is ridiculous.... The guy kept on gossiping in hindi to his manager in front of us, unfriendly, flies landing on the laddoos, we bought the burfis but from inside the counter.....Very disappointing...... When we complained about the service and asked for the owners number, the guy with bun refused...... I have never received bad service like this in my life..... This was my second experience with this type of attitude, the first time, the guy only started to warm up after he realized I was going to buy for more than a thousand rand..... Makes me sick for people to have that mentality when it comes to customers....... One more thing I need to let everyone know, when my family told the gentlemen that a fly just sat on the ladoo, the guy told his manager please bring agrabathi, (insence stick) and light it as there are flies..... No, he did not remove it and apologise for leaving it open, he just carried on which makes me thing how many times a day did the fly or flies actually sit on those treats.....
