Made a lunch booking on a Sunday for the family. We were the only occupied table in the restaurant. Very casual easy setup. We were given 2 menus, seafood/Japanese with plenty of options and a Mexican menu. We ordered from both menus. And every dish was delicious.Service was impeccable, best we have had in a very long time. Staff was amazing. Sandra our waitress was the best. Highly recommended. We will definitely be visiting again and again.

The fusion sushi here is still as good as it was when they were located in Rosebank 7 years ago. Friendly staff and I still love their Chocolate Springrolls😍

Food and service was okay. Lights were flickering the whole time which was annoying, some soft background music would improve the atmosphere as it was quite empty and it felt a bit awkward with the silence.

Always excellent sushi!!! Inari roses with salmon crunch handroll. Sushi donut and sushi pizza (need I say more), tiger roll and salkon skin rolls. Always friendly and attentive staff!

As I arrived with my family we were greeted by flickering lights making the restaurant feel like you were entering a rave. After we realised that the lights were broken we were served wine which would did not ask for but paid for out of pity for the waitress. Then after an hour and a half of waiting under the mind numbing lights we were not served our food but just chicken bites as they apologised for the long wait. The restaurant was not busy there was one other family their so we did not understand the wait. Eventually when our food did arrive the tacos were wrong but after 2 hours we just ate it because we just wanted to leave. Please for your own sake stay away, before COVID this restaurant was great but the new management is abysmal and I will never be returning.

Great Japanese Cusine at an affordable price. You also have access to a Mexican menu as they share a kitchen with the neighboring restaurant. Will definitely come back!

My absolute favorite Asian restaurant in the whole entire world. Ive been a huge fan of Hushi for the past 5 years now and automatically fell in love from my first experience which was when they were still based in Rosebank. Their curries, grills and sushi is the most amazing thing ever.

Certainly the best sushi I have tasted in a long while. The place doesnt look like much but the food is very good. Spoke to the chef while waiting for the food. He is a very keen chef. Young and energetic.

As a sushi lover I have had the great pleasure to experience fantastic sushi in different countries. After a while you learn more about the tricks of and rules to making sushi. Unfortunately many places in Johannesburg dont really know how to make it well other than how to shape it. Hashi is no different. Sushi was cold (it is supposed to be room temperature), rice was too sour (too much vinegar was used) and the proportions of rise were off.Other than that its an ok place. Service was good.

Highly recommend going to Hashi on Wednesday for their half price sushi otherwise it does feel pricey. They have delicious sushi and their Hashi sauce is a real winner. They also have Kiri Roll (Tempura) which comes with this very spicy sauce, it is delicious but be warned it does have a kick to it, not for the faint hearted. Service is always good here. When browsing through their menu you will notice their California rolls come in 6, do not get too excited as they are slightly smaller pieces than your normal California rolls and you end up with the same amount as 4 California rolls from another place. Their brownie dessert is always a good way to end your meal but their deep fried ice cream is meh.

Very friendly service, street seating which I love; good sushi and some different types of sushi. Half price on certain sushi on a Wednesday. I do find it a bit pricey, but I guess you pay for the area and good service. Limited seats outside so maybe book a table.

We ordered 2x Japanese dishes (Udon noodles) and 2x Mexican (the so called Toastadas and a shrimp salad) ones. All of them were unfortunately really disappointing. No taste, full of Monoglutamat from the packet soup and sauce they used, salad dressing smelled and tasted like Vermouth... The Aloe Drink was good though and the location itself is pretty nice. But thats it.

Went for brunch, was lovely. Service might be a bit slow for some people.

Wonderful sushi, very creative! Good portions and quality as well as freshness. As for your sushi in a boat if you want gorgeous presentation! Their cocktails are also surprisingly good. Would say the only thing that can improve is the decor, but that might drive the reasonable prices up, so also good to just leave it alone ;) Lovely little hidden gem of a restaurant

The sushi here is delicious! Honestly the best sushi I have ever eaten, very fresh and full of flavour. Super friendly staff as well. I highly recommend that anyone sushi fan gives this place a try

Food is AMAZING. As you put the sushi in your mouth it feels like an explosion of flavor blowing up all over your taste buds. And the aesthetics of the restaurant help with the whole experience, especially the little boats your sushi gets delivered on

Tight atmosphere. Menu was over priced for size of portions. Had a starter and main and left hungry. Food had great flavour though and was tasty. Was disappointed I didnt get chopsticks to eat my main with. The owner should not be seen leaving the kitchen chowing down on a HANDFUL of food. Im sure my noodles were spaghetti. The saviour was the service. If you want service over anything else then that is your winner. It will be a very long time before I go back but I will go back.

Had anniversary dinner on Monday night 30th September. We were the only table. Sushi was excellent but service was very poor. When asked about the menu the waitress stated she doesnt eat sushi and could wait to get us out. Dinner ended with a split creme Brule and the worst cuppacino Ive ever had. Pity because the sushi is awesome. I have returned on a busier night and everything was great.

The sushi was fresh and creatively prepared, really delicious! They even went out of their way to make us iced coffees which they did not have on their menu. If you do go to Hashi be sure to try out the chocolate spring rolls for dessert!

Had a delicious meal, but both my friend and I were very sick for the entire day afterwards. When I informed the manager, he apologized and said hed speak with the owner about reimbursing me, but I never heard back. Unless you enjoy vomiting and diarrhea, best to spend R500 on a meal elsewhere.

The food was pretty good. I enjoyed the different take on your typical sushi dishes. However the service left much to be desired.

Very disappointed. We waited for over 30 minutes for our food even though we were the only three in the restaurant. I would only recommend the sushi, although it is also highly overpriced, it is at least edible unlike the other food. We were often left unattended my multiple waiters in the restaurant.
