Had my cat sterilized within a few hours she was safe and sound at home

After a family member took a perfectly healthy stray to this facility we decided to adopt the dog. After almost three weeks contacting the facility we have been strung along charged R500 for a home inspection that did not happen and then told the dog has died in their care. Something is not right here! This place needs to be investigated!

Please please adopt... Dont shop! Plenty of animals wanting loving homes... If you are able to... Open your homes and hearts!

Aside from the long waiting periods to be attended to, I would give this SPCA a 5 star rating!The on site vets and staff are amazing, friendly and helpful.My cats went in to get neutered and I can safely say that they were well looked after and in good hands!Support the SPCA in what ever way you can! Help a good cause!

Worst experience of my life. I kept on enquiring about a dog i wanted. They were closed because of riots but opened this monday. They phoned to tell me that I can come to check out the dog I wanted. I phoned to let them know I was on my way a bit later and they told me they had already given the dog away. This was incredibly dissapointing. Because I had put in a lot of effort to get this dog. There was utter disregard for me. I will not support this spca ever.

We fell in love with Snowflack Kennel S22, hê is wll lokking after. The ken els are Clean and no deodorant smell.. Well maintaint.

SPCA in Booysens is useless. They dont have a doctor to treat your pets. All they can do is sterilise and do shots. So if your pet is ill forget about taking it there. Because they wont help you!

I was so happy to see all the animals were looked after.But i was looking to adopt a grown big dog.I needed to find the one and i did he had everything that there is to look for in a dog. He was a cross tycoon, mountain dog.3 days later i went back to take my son home...And i was to late...And im still sad really i am.They say he was adopted i do hope so. Because you know when you look into someones eyes you can see his heart and soul and he was ment to be my son.I made him a bed out of wood and i made him a big pillow/mattress and a blanket in my bedroom.Well my lesson that i learned was to never wait if you know its the right thing to do. And if you know you found your soul mate.I wish where ever he is today that his new family or maybe in heaven... ...But i hope he found the forever love and family that he always wanted.Im still sad... i was crying when i left.But all i can say is...There is a lot of grown up animals full of love. That their only wish is to make you happy and for you to love them unconditionally.Take a chance you never know you might just find the one...This is him... and a few i had a connection with...

Why buy a pet when you can adopt?

Very heart breaking. People just dump their animals there. They urgently need donations. People if you have a heart give from the depth of your heart. A couple of Rands will go a long way. I adopted a doggie that I picked up from the streets that had menage. He was treated there and after 7 weeks he came home to me.

The kennels were so clean. All doggie had toys and blankets and jerseys on. Staff were so friendly and helpful! Adoption was really easy and smooth. Anyone can go and visit the fur babies there. Please go and give the animals some love!

I found a stray cat that was badly injured and I called the SPCA and they sent a driver to come pick up the cat and I hope they manage to help the poor cat because the injuries were really bad and all the best to the whole team especially the driver who showed so much compassion as we picked up the cat.

Anytime animals are put before humans warms me. These ladies and gentlemen do an incredibly difficult job but always greet you with a smile. They were so helpful and kind when I reported my cat missing and even took me to the cattery to see if he was there.

Absolutely loved the service. Staff are friendly and so caring towards the animals. Adoption process is efficient and they are always willing to answer any questions even after the adoption process.. all adoption pets are sterilised and microchipped

Had to put my old dog down. They were so kind and understanding of our loss. Got his ashes back today. Thank you for the little mementos, a card, his paw print and wooden paw. Thank you again.

What a wonderful experience! The staff are competent, friendly and helpful and the premises clean and neat. The animals are well looked after and its clear that the staff really care for them. The adoption process is smooth though strict, which is comforting because the SPCA ensures that the animals only go to homes where they will be loved and cared for.

I called this morning about a dog running in the streets. The response was amazing,we found the owner. Happy ending.But thats not all I left to work and saw the same inspector stop at another dog laying in the road, he stopped and helped. I didnt get your name. Youre a hero 😁#spca

This SPCA stands out among its surroundings in a good way! Its beautifully kept and the cages are clean and well looked after. When I visited, it had more dogs than any of the other SPCAs in the vicinity, so a bigger variety for prospective adopters who have more specific requirements/needs.

If you can, rather go to a private vet. But if you cant afford one then go to the animal anti cruelty league in Regents park. This SPCA has become very expensive and most of the times they dont have any vets to assist. It wasnt always like this. They used to be very good and the service was great. I hope they get back to the standard that they were at because they really did help a lot of pet owners in need.

The staff were friendly and there was a lot of parking space. The place looks clean and inviting. The area is safe and secure.

Disappointed in the vet when I had a sick dog 3 weeks ago and was told the veterinarian only sees emergency cases and not consults. Was told to go to Animal Anit Cruelty for help. Very disappointed. If a GP can see patients what is the problem with the vet?!?

Place is looking good but the dogs need more. They are more concerned with all the new toys, mats, blankets and products what about the animals????

This establishment is open 24 hours a day and the staff is superb. They are taking care of a stray puppy we had found in our yard. The admin lady at the desk recognized me from my stage and screen dance work and asked for a pirouette. I gave her 5 clean ones 😉

I was shocked and surprised that the services are no longer free.Is the SPCA now a private entity?I was given a quote of R2000 and as a pensioner I was unable to come up with such a ridiculous amount.

We use to bring our dogs here all the time because the service was great and you genuinely felt that they cared about your 4 legged family members but now recently May 2018 they seem to be more about the money and less about the animals needs or well being. We brought our dog in for his yearly vaccination they insisted on having him sterilized and refused to do his vaccination even after we told them we will be Relocating in three days to the cape, they wanted to rush the booking in of him and didn’t consider that we will be driving down with our animal. We did not have a problem with having him Sterilized just a problem on how uncomfortable would that have been for our 4 legged family member.

Hey there always been a well organised but unfortunately no more helping injured animals

The service was very good. We lost our family pet on the 26th August. I contacted the centre to store him overnight and the offices accommadated me during the late hours of Sunday evening, showed the kids empathy and helped out sincerely.Would I go back to the centre? - yes I definitely would.

Animal anti cruelty charity main animal hospital and rescue shelter with pet food and pet accessories for sale. Excellent care for animals whos owners cant afford private vets and rescued animals are kept in kennels where they can be adopted

Came here for help when my dog was attacked by a pit bull while on a walk. my dog ran away but with their help I was able to get my dog back.

They were friendly and promised to take care of my dog.

Im livid... I take my two cats in to be spayed on the 24th and I go fetch them today.. and they have clipped my one cats ear... they mistook her for a feral cat...Now tell me how on earth is a place thats supposed to care for animals, clip animals ears just to distinguish wild animals from domestic? I really cannot believe it...

If you searching for dogs or puppies try SPCA first they well equipped with pet foods and pet toys also.
