What an amazing place. The bird cages and sanctuaries are kept in an amazing state. The park is very need and is very fun to read the information bords and comments at all the enclosures. Well done to all the staff thats keeping the park so well maintained 👏👏👏

Its a wonderful experience with different types of creatures under the one roof.i must thanks to Montecasino management for awesome maintenance. Its a full day trip we can have splendid time with the family. Pls visit the place to have the fun.

The Monte Casino Bird Gardens is a beautiful and clean place. Great for a day break away to have fun with the family. Unfortunately we misses the bird show, but still enjoyed the park. Feeding time for the pelicans was very cute. They were all marching in a row down hill to get their piece of fish.

Place is really nice we saw alot of birds including a pink flamingo, national bird and lost more. There arent just birds there are snakes (in cages), a sloth monkeys and lots more. It was an experience of a life time. I highly recommend you go to the bird park its AMAZING!!!!!!

Great morning or afternoon out for the kids and adults. Exceptionally well looked after bird and reptile inclosures. Enjoy a quick walk around that would take you about an hour or you could do the whole park in a leasurely 2 to 3 hrs.Snack and drink available for takeaway.

Always an awesome place to visit. You need to know that if you have a Montecasino card you are entitled to a Substantial discount. The staff there didnt seem too keen to ask for the card though. Maybe an oversight... A downside though are the bees by the cafeteria... Man these little buzzers are annoying! Other than that, place is amazing and the animals always in a good mood...

The garden is beautiful maintained and clean and boasts stunning birds as well as reptiles (snakes, frogs) and small mammals. You can walk through some enclosures which is awesome! The entrance fees are very reasonable based on the upkeep of the gardens.We also watched a bird show which was short but sweet and entertaining!The only sad thing was seeing how empty some of the little pools/ dams were in certain enclosures on such a hot day!

Very relaxing. Beautiful birds. Very interesting fact sheets. Snake and reptile display too. Black mamba, Cape cobra, Rinkhals etc. A definite must on your bucket list.

Beautiful well maintained for kids and adults.You can buy pellets for R8 to feed the ducks. Takeaway restaurant and bathrooms on site. There is also a small play area with jungle gym, slide and swings for kids.Theres also an ampitheatre where shows are held 3 times a day with birds of prey.The avery area is lovely and interactive. Limas, sloth, iguana, different species of birds, frogs, turtles, snakes and more to see. Definitely worth going.

Montecasino Bird Gardens team were so gracious and welcoming of the SA Guide Dog puppies. An important socializing outing with loads of bird and animal distraction. A great learning experience & lots of fun for the pups and puppy raisers. Thank you for your hospitality.

We went on an extremely hot day. The birds and animals are well looked after, as adults we paid R90 per head. Kids under 11 and pensioners pay R62. Feed the ducks at an additional R7 per feed packet! We loved it, would recommend this as an afforable and fun family outing.

Fantastic place to just have some fun if you like learning and being outdoors!!! Friendly service from the cashier as the front desk. Reduced rates from 3:30pm, they have a lot of cool rooms to explore as well.

Very Nice and highly Recommended. Very friendly staff except for the guy at the Ticket Sales. Otherwise Very clean and lots of fun. The Bird show was very nice and entertaining. We loved every bit of it and we also got a chance to meet an owl and have our picture taken with her. I will definitely go again and can highly recommend it. Keep up the great job you guys.

Grandchildren love this place. been about 6 times over the years. Aerial bird show fabulous.

Took our grandsons yesterday and they so enjoyed the whole experience. The park is well kept, the animals healthy looking and varied and the facilities clean. A bit disappointing that there was no show due to Covid restrictions, but there was still enough to keep them thoroughly entertained.The only let-down was the Flamingo Cafe food, which ranged from indifferent to almost inedible, and not cheap either!

This place is excellent, the animals are VERY well cared for and you can see the keepers all really love their animals, please support them and its an absolute family treat, informative, clean and pristine, a must visit!

Very well looked after and run. Enclosures are clean and neat. Probably as good as it could be, short of the birds being free in their natural habitats. Staff are very friendly. Fantastic place to bring small children.There are also interactive bird shows every day.

Very disappointed in the food served at the flamingo cafe. Not at all what was asked or promised. Will definitely have breakfast somewhere else in future.

Great place for families! The bird show is entertaining, the landscaping is beautiful, and everything is arranged to see the animals well. More than birds, too, including lemurs, monkeys, lizards, and snakes. Nice outdoor restaurant with a good view of the flamingos and peacocks, and plenty more inside Montecasino.

We went to the bird gardens on a sunday but it was closed, because of the time. If i am not mistaking, i think it closes around 2 pm or 3 pm.

Ive been coming here for years and every time I come its an absolutely wonderful and beautiful experience, great for kids. Unfortunately the bird show doesnt have a place for people with wheelchairs. Reptiles look well taken care of.

A decently large variety of birds as well as a few reptiles, monkeys and whatever else is being rehabilitated at the time. Good fun for toddlers and kids. There are birds shows as well which are quite entertaining. Theres a small restaurant at the entrance with a large play area / jungle gym for kids.

The birds and their enclosures are spectacular. The gardens are well kept and its nice to have a play area for the kids for after the viewing. The toasted sarmies are delicious.

Theres a mini food place for convenience. If youre lucky, you can even catch the bird show at no extra charges. Really value for money

This is MUST NOT MISS. I have been to several bird marks around the world and as yet have not experienced something as beautiful as the one at Montecasino. Large and well set out and includes reptiles and a few primates. The park hosts a bird show daily which cannot compare. Well trained birds swoop and fly around providing a stunning spectacle and educating patrons in the process. The park is large so plan to spend a few hours here. There is a restaurant and snack bar on site.

This place is amazing 👏😍. Beautiful birds 🐦 and some reptiles, which are well looked after. The place is well maintained and the place is spotlessly clean and covid adherence. The playground for the kids is wonderful and enough to keep the little ones entertained. Dont miss the bird show....very informative👏👏👍👍. I would highly recommend this place for a family outing. My granddaughter loved it ❤♥💖

Lovely place to take children and actually go as an adult. They have a large variety of birds, snakes and spiders. They have a bird show which the children love and the park is well kept and clean. there is a little play area for children. The snack shop sells hot dogs etc, which was really good however it took at least half an hour to get them standing in the Que. They must quicken up the cafe. Enjoyable place to go and one can then go to Monte Casino if one wants. Right next door

Lovely place to bring the kids. Only issue i found is that there were certain rooms that only allowed 4 (due to covid 19) in at a time to enter but people were not following this rule and xing in with no regard. Not a fault of this place but please be careful

We were welcomed by friendly staff. The bird park itself is very clean and well looked after. Theres a large variety of birds, some that are so unusual. There was also a bird show which we really enjoyed. There is also a little shop where you can get snacks. Theres an enclosure where there are 2 lemurs that you can walk amongst. Its really a great place to go with the family. Id highly recommend. Definitely worth the pice.

Excellent place to walk around with the family and experience some fantastic bird life.Interesting facts are scattered throughout the Garden, helping you to stop and appreciate what youre looking at.Feeding the gorgeous ducks is also a big bonus.

Great experience, with healthy and happy birds. Get some duck pellets and feed the ducks. The bird shows at 11:00 and 15:00 are a must. The only downside is the little shop. Cashier was miserable and seemingly had zero customer care training.

Love bird garden at Monte Cassio, from exotic birds to our local species it is a great day out for family and friends.What I really loved was the dangerous reptiles they have on display wher you can see these amazing reptiles from the safety of an enclosed contraption.

Bird gardens is a nice place, entry fees is little high I felt. Its 80R per person. 55R for above 2 years old kids- this is the reason I am giving 4 stars.

Outside restaurant for kids to enjoy a basic pizza and the jungle gyms are great.Please but the duck food at the entrance when purchasing your ticket. The ducks are so eager for you to feed them. Absolutely worth it!This was something that we did last minute and I’m so glad we did. There was a huge variety of birds, many of which you could get extremely close to. They have a very large enclosure with a variety of animals (not just birds) and they’re all roaming about together. Great experience. They also have some great restaurants in the casino!

Just outstanding! Several creatures in close as possible natural habitats. Even its called bird gardens, you can find snakes, mammals, insects and exotic creatures. After 3pm, bird gardens offers discounted tickets. Souvenirs can be found at ticket office.

We really enjoyed the gardens. The bird show was very entertaining. Love the fierce creatures display hidden inside the main avery. Clean, safe and reasonably priced. Cafe Flamingo service was great, we enjoyed lunch here with open air jungle gym for kids and a view over the flamingo pond.

After Fun Company I had to keep kiddies busy in an open environment. I am very glad I decided on Bird Gardens. Not too pricey, beautifully kept! Wonderful variety of birds, reptiles and few extra four footed friends. The kids absolutely loved it and I recommend it highly. Will definitely revisit

Awesome experience! Really didnt expect it to be as great as it was. There are a lot of birds just roaming around. Its very clean with good living conditions for the Animals. There are birds, snakes, and many more. The bird show was very cool, it was about half an hour, not too be missed.

This place is an amazing option when wanting to avoid the long walks at the zoo and scorching sun. Its kid friendly and really interesting to be at. Affordable and sufficient. Prices are R80 for adults and R55 for kids and pensioners. Theres also a cafe (Flamingo) that serves light foods and desserts. The menu is however very limited.lets not forget the Frog room for the reptile lovers out here.

A beautiful escape in the heart of the city. The fees are reasonable and you get a discount if you have a Monte Casino card. The park and animals are well maintained and you will be able to get really close to some of the beautiful exotic birds. They also have 15 minute bird shows about twice a day and different feeding schedules. You can take pics with one of the owls but have cash on hand as its cash only. In addition to the birds, there are amphibians and reptiles and a few lemurs. Theres a little cafe for refreshments which also sells some soft serve ice cream. All in all a lovely family or couple outing...

A great outing for young and old alike, there are plenty of bird species, a few reptiles, frogs and ring-tailed lemurs in the walk in aviary.The bird show is very interesting and a must see for young kids. The toilets are clean and the park is well maintained & the animals are well looked after.

A very lovely place with the most beautiful birds, and its also affordable. This is very ideal for a fun day out with the family or just by yourself if you want to relax. The bird cages seem to be well taken care of, but the lake/pond had very green water. The staff is very friendly; smiling and always greeting. They had a bird show which I found to be very informative. Had a great time, wouldnt mind going again.
