Amazing! Loved the entire weekend. Great facilities, beautiful surrounds and very kind host! Also Its Pet friendly. Whats not to love? !

My family have stayed at Lake House two or three times in the past and have loved the space.We recently spent a serene few days at Forest House. The scenery, house and open spaces were wonderful. They could have had a bit more attention to detail when cleaning the home before our arrival, as we were left some unwelcomed gifts. And bins werent emptied during the daily clean we requested.Other than that, we enjoyed our stay.

Having only been a day visitor I cant provide an accurate rating of the nocturnal hours. Suffice to say the few hours I did spend in this veritable eden were enough to make me want to return indefinitely. Book this accommodation if youre the kind of person that likes nice things. If not, Im sure youll find something substandard instead. 30/10 would reccomend.

We had a lovely time at Hillhouse! We enjoyed the walks and the misty mornings. The hosts are helpful and even let our little ones feed the chickens. We especially loved the design of the converted farm shed and the decor was kinda farm style retro.Its quite spacious but not enough privacy for sleeping since the beds are placed above the lounge with no walls. However, its a little close to the owners property and theres no TV, so I suggest you bring your own books or tablet.

Our group of 6 adults and 4 children really enjoyed the space during December 2017. The house has ample space, furnishings, cutlery and crockery for groups. The property is beautiful and we enjoyed walks daily. It is situated close enough for day trips around the meander but secluded enough to enjoy nature and privacy. The owners are kind and friendly hosts. I definitely recommend Hillhouse accommodation to anybody searching to recharge their tired souls.

A charming place, with picturesque views. It was the ideal backdrop for our large, loud, and somewhat mad familys Christmas holiday. Theres ample space for everyone and lots of stuff to keep everyone busy with. Its close enough for Nottingham road excursions, and secluded enough to not feel like part of the flood of December holiday goers. The kitchens were geared enough and we cooked up a storm for 14 people everyday. Even the fireplace made our very cold, misty Christmas day nice and cozy.

Our large family group visited Hill House in December - what a beautiful place! Hill House is the most amazing farm shed conversion - quirky, characterful, comfortable and inviting, it was perfect for us, with more than enough space for us all to relax, unwind and enjoy the stunning views and beautiful countryside. We took long, rambling walks through the farmland with our two dogs, spent long evenings by the fire on the chillier days, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. A most memorable holiday that we hope to repeat many times! Hill House - definitely our new family favourite.

We stayed at Hillhouse in December 2017 and it was an awesome experience. The farmhouse is kitted out with everything one needs on holiday, the views are stunning, the location is awesome - just a few minutes away from the freeway, yet it felt like deep countryside. It offers the opportunity for long leisurely walks and the owners are friendly, helpful and extremely hospitable. We even got a historical tour of the farm, most exciting for those of us living the rat race. Enjoy the space for the whole family or lots of friends in one place.

I didnt actually stay over, but I attended a knitting workshop. It was mid winter so it was quite chilly even with a roaring fire. Stunning views. Lovely venue for a large get together. There are other smaller, cozier cottages too.

This place is an amazing break away from the noise in the city. You are surrounded by absolutely beautiful hills and animal life (which will never bother you). I feel so rejuvenated and so refreshed and ready 2019.

What an unforgettable weekend we had at Hillhouse! We were 4 friends that were looking for accommodation close to Midmar because we were doing the triathlon on the Sunday. The Lake House is absolutely beautiful with a breath taking view. A true gem, we are certainly going back, this year with more friends and booking the Hill House this time! We were a big group of friends that stayed at Hill House last year - it is the most amazing shed conversion full of characterful and very comfortable. A perfect spot for a nice break away from the city with stunning views of the beautiful countryside. We really enjoyed ourselves and cannot wait to go back :)

Spectacular views, walks/hikes short but sweet, private and secluded, well placed being close enough to the main road to allow you access to the hidden gems riddled throughout the midlands, but far enough that you are away from the hustle and bustle. Lakehouse is perfect for couples, take a book or a bike, will definitely return!

Meh. Nice location, roads are not great getting in. The place is big and lots of eating space but it needs lots of fixing up. The furniture is gross and old. Very dirty kitchen utensils, says it sleeps 12 but really only sleeps 10 (with 2 random mattresses laying about). Lack of attention to detail, no soap in the bathrooms to wash your hands, hand towels are dirty. Generally not great.

We love this place. Very comfortable and well equipped. Beautiful walks through the property with amazing views of the Dargle valley. The house has four bedrooms, all ensuite. Kitchen has just what you need. Overall peaceful weekend etaway 30 minutes outside the hustle and bustle. We will definetaly return!

Most amazing quiet place in the country. Attention to detail is excellent!

We had another great stay at Forest House, Hill house. The simlpicity of design and added detail from the beautifu fresh cut flowers in the rooms are always so welcoming. We will most definatley be back.

Great venue.Foresthouse is fantastic, but the water feels slimey at times which makes showering less enjoyable.Hillhouse is big, but feels a little disjointed and is not great for toddlers (too many stairs and an out of sight fireplace), but its great for large groups.Although my review has more negatives, (shorter to list than the positives), the 4 stars highlights how the positives outweigh the negatives.

A wonderful place set in bucolic splendor. The views are amazing. There are walks, things to do in the midlands and lovely places to eat within driving distance but you wont want to go anywhere. Bring your own food and have a braai. I love the Forest House but Hillhouse is also great, especially if you have a large group of people. Lakehouse is smaller and more intimate with stunning views. Its a wonderful place and youll have a lovely time.

Hillhouse is a lovely place to escape to for a weekend retreat.Forget about the rat race and just unwindComfortable spacious accommodation with the necessary conveniences.
