A gorgeous venue with amazing views. Lovely scenic area
I went to a Hindu wedding there. Very posh. Wedding decorations and lighting was beautiful. It is a setting on the picturesque Natal Midlands Meander. St.Ives gas a lovely large deck overlooking a picturesque dam in the middle of the green hills of KwaZulu-Natal.I couldnt tell what St.Ives food was like because the bridal couple chose to outsource the catering.
Fireplace in each room, very comfortable. Great conferencing facilities.
For the price of the family room, one would expect more...Kids room wad VERY draphty and TOO cold...they ended up sleeping with Mom and Dad...No electric blankets. This would have helped with the cold. One of the Windows in our room was all boarded up? Not very nice. Bit dodgy.3 lovely fire places but no fireplace tools?Wifi signal super poor.No instructions for tvs. We had to shift the dstv from one TV to another...The bed was super comfortable! But we were all super exhausted...I believe a trip in the summer would be amazing....
Beautiful place, will like to spend a weekend there in the summer 😃😃🌞🌞💖
Not a place I’d choose to stay again as there were communications after my stay which left a bad taste.
Its a peaceful old fashioned country side environment. Theres everything for everyone. The view is lovely, the food even though they run out of bacon and ribs is still lovely. The outside tables by the restaurant are quite limited and therefore you might need to settle for a viewless experience.
Sorry, we visited about 3 or 4 years ago. Then it was winter and it was beautiful!! The layout of the property is stunning, with a pond and a lake, with free roaming animals, birds, frogs and happy little rabbits! Beautiful lawns, trees and flowers. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with a feeling of warmth. The breakfast is enormous..... Dinner was excellent.... A perfect venue for a wedding or for a relaxing getaway!! And its part of the beautiful Midland Meander and over the road from the ever popular Piggly Wiggly!! Go and spoil yourself!!!
Very nice place, quiet, peaceful and has plenty place for you to bring your family
I went there for a week-long conference. The facilities were great, but I think the conference outgrew the infrastructure. For example, there were too few toilets for the number of delegates. The different venues, sound and visual aids were good. Enough parking. Good food. Friendly and helpful staff.
Amazing venue for a wedding!
The place is peaceful, beautiful n gorgeous... you animals are wondering around outside n the staff is very nice and helpful. I enjoyed my stay with my daughter. Thanks guys. Definitely coming back next year.
Fantastic views of a dam and the surrounding areas. There is also some wildlife around, Wildebeest etc. food is amazing
The location is well maintained and has beautiful grounds, it is peaceful and really a lovely place. The staff are excellent. A little note would be to upgrade the DSTV package as it is rather limited and to maintain the kettles in the rooms as it was not suitable for use - I would definitely return.
Great venue located in the sweet spot of the Midlands Meander. Spent a couple of nights at St Ives whilst hosting a conference. Staff was friendly and very helpful. The meals was well catered and the conference facilities adequate. Rooms was quite spacious and clean with a full bathroom. Some rooms could have benefit from a little maintenance. All and all a pleasant experience.
Absolutely phenomenal! Going here the world just stops. Its the most beautiful relaxing atmosphere! Breathtaking scenery, wild animals roaming, a well taken care of property, and good hospitality from the staff! An all around amazing place! I can recommend it to anyone! Ill definitely be back!
Perfect place and venue for a mid sized conference. Service has been amazing, rooms comfy, food great. Not far from other interesting places to visit.
The menu was very uninspired. Nothing special of you ask me. Staff were friendly and helpful. The venue is beautiful.
Awesome spot. Great for kids. Food is tasty and quick. Only problem is no splitter box for DSTV so when sport conflicts theres always some patrons leaving. In todays case football was switched to rugby despite the football count of patrons being greater. Will definitely be back. Hopefully with dual sports facility.
Was at St Ives for a company break away session. Service was excellent. Staff and management very friendly. Food was great and rooms comfortable. Definitely going back there.
Scenic, great walking/hiking trails, food was good, service at Bar was excellent. Will book Luxury room in future - much better view - worth the difference in cost
We had an exhilarating experience on the 31st of October 2015. The grounds were neat and well trimmed (exquisite). The food was great and our guests were treated like royalties. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to all our guests needs. We commend Catherine and Candy for their ability to co-ordinate the wedding. The professionalism they displayed from the initial phases of our project to the day of the wedding and beyond is marvelous. Thank you St Ives for making our day truly memorable. Xoli&Langa
Surrounded by buck, buffalo etc sets the scene. Tranquil and the units are comfy. On property restaurant provides delicious meals
Beautiful place. Professional service. Staff are really lovely people. Nature at its best. Restaurant food is delicious.
Good
A snazzy and interesting venue a must visit for coffee or a meal at the start of the Midlands meander. Beautiful setting
I went to St Ives for the yearly Berg Wheeler MTB race. The race did not go to well for me ;-) But the food and facility at St Ives were great and the on site Pub was very well stocked with all the local and some international beers and soft drinks that you could need. The pizzas were very nice and the staff helpful and fast. What also helped was the vibrating tag that you get for calling when the food was done. That meant I could go sit and speak to people without waiting at the counter for our food. I really enjoyed the day and will be back next year for the race
Lovely setting for lunch overlooking a dam... great, friendly staff and good food
Thoroughly enjoyed it, food and service excellent. Just one problem it was a cold day and the plates were cold. Keep up the good work it is a wonderful picturesque venue.
A peace of quiet in the Midlands, with a professional and helpful staff of caterers and event coordinators who have made our staff visits enjoyable, memorable and complemented our events with incredibly well prepared food in the form of individual and buffet type meals.Definitely worth the visit, with the opportunity to take in sights and sounds of nature, overlooking a picturesque dam from the deck, with visiting impala and other midlands wildlife present.
The Boma is a must stop , great wood fired pizza and craft beer on tap.
This is a beautiful wedding venue
Good venue for a wedding ceremony but was not overly impressed with the reception area.Venue is excellent for capturing photos
I went to view for a wedding for a friend. It is stunning. Final decision hasnt been made but o can imagine how beautiful the background will look.
Enjoyed a superb buffet lunch at St Ives yesterday. The place is gorgeous. Service was excellent and friendly and warm. Food was delicious! The look and feel of St Ives is modern with a classic touch. Great play area for the children. And just opposite Piggly Wiggly. Will definitely be back at St Ives.
This is great place to bring bicycles and cycle with your family. It is very child friendly and the boma will leave you relaxed and recharged again. The food is great and it has nice views of the dam and hillside!
A really beautiful location, the rooms are well-sized and comfortable. The scenic landscapes are complimented by the frequent appearance of wildlife. I will definitely return at a later date
The management are awful. Their representative told us we would be in self catering units. These are not. They then refused to refund us one of 3 nights as we would be staying with kids on the third night.Their luxury suites are dated and the television is too small for the room. There are no cooking facilities.Their family suites are well appointed but again no cooking facilities.Staff are cold and unresponsive. I would not return nor could I recommend a stay here when there are so many other better venues a stones throw away.
We had a really good time; it was relaxing and quiet. All the animals come around the rooms at night.
Needs more improvement on their breakfast. For people who do not eat pork, they had nothing. We had to request napkins as well. The rooms are very 80s, though they are clean and acceptable.
This venue is stunning. The gardena are heaven sent. Loved it!
We had a family get together and stayed for the weekend. Rooms & breakfast are decent.
The rooms are awesome and fully modern with bath and shower. For the person or family wanting clean and organised. Parking spots by the room. The balcony overlooks the green grounds with buck wandering around.Fireplace and TV in the suite. WiFi, fridge, microwave, kettle, cutlery, hairdryer.Once again, a wonderful place where you are guaranteed to be happy and amazed at the value for money.
It was super nice to be there
Perfect family venue. Kids can play in an enclosed play area. Food is delicious.
Stunning venue for weddings. The hosts (Catherine and Ashley) are very friendly and the food is amazing!
Beautiful place to stay. Lots to see and do in the area. Only 5kms from Mandela Capture sight. Zebra, buck and wildebeest roam around the property. Have sundowners at the Boma on the deck over the lake. Friendly and helpful staff.
A nice place for group functions and a weekend out
One of the most awesome venues that gives you a game lodge mini experience with animals coming right up to your suites. Really peaceful and homely!
Great food and a nice set up. Rooms are clean and well presented. Friendly staff. Missing some ambiance but other than that great place to start the meander.
Accommodation is top class, the scenery is perfect, also definitely stop by the Bouma for food and drinks.
Beautiful wedding venue...food is very good and service all around was very good
Friendly and helpful staff made our stay amazing. The rooms although a bit noisy are great. The restaurant is great and well priced on half priced Wednesdays.
Beautiful wedding venue. Definitely 5 star
We ate at the Boma Burger and Pizza restaurant at the lake. Great food. Nice, relaxed atmosphere. The burgers and pizzas were superb and there is a nice, well maintained play area for kids.
Attended a wedding and it was great service, food and all round experience!
We run at The Boma most Tuesday evenings. Its a great spot, with a great run. The kids love it and the pizza is great.
An awesome place for conferencing, weddings and other functions.Very hospitable staff
OK accommodation, just needs some TLC but otherwise beautiful scenery...
Very good lodge I recommend every one to be there special with family
Warm welcome and their food is tasty😋
Got married here, was the best day in my life, what a party, everything was fantastic, food was extraordinary and the view is breathtaking
A beautiful setting calm peaceful and the animals roaming freely
St Ives is a beautiful and peaceful place. The view is amazing.
Picturesque and spacious venue in the heart of the Midlands with an outside or a beautiful chapel overlooking the dam.excellent service from the team and the boma is also an excellent get away with simple yet tasty food and a wide variety of drinks available
Fun activities. Really beautiful. Cant wait to go back
Lovely Stay! Staff very accommodating
Its was child friendly, perfectly situated across from piggly wiggly. Food was great. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Accomadation was clean and rooms beautifully designed. Great seeing the wildlife all around. Great stays.......booked twice in the month of December!!!

Stunning view, friendly service where they go out of their way for you and as for the food it tastes out of this world .
Myrun was fantastic. Lovely venue.
Serene, amazing service. Wildlife for days on premises
Great food, great accommodation ,great service
Nice enough room but needs maintainance, unfortunately the food at the Boma was disappointing 🤔
The most beautiful place well priced
Awesome place to relax and breathe in fresh air.
Wonderful atmosphere, absolutely beautiful and staff are kind and helpful.
Although it diggs your pocket but ot worths your money. The view and the staff is friendly and you get what you deserve with your money. Its beatiful and you can take pictures till your camera is full in that place.
I enjoyed my stay there.
Very nice and quiet lots of stuff to do.
Good clean fun in the sun beautiful surroundings and a great family outing
Very nice wedding venue...friendly and helpful staff
Disgusting management and ownership that have no respect for their paying guests having a wedding there. They screw up and make the wedders pay even môre for their own mistakes and then eventually chase their newly wed customers away after they paid. Sickening to think a place like this can exist and still Welcome People. THEY will exceed your bar tab and make you pay for every cent. Dont trust them to put a limit on your Wedding bar tab. Even if it is in writing they will still hold you liable to pay and if you dont you get cancelled future accomodation and asked to leave and told youre not welcome back again after a wedding was held there. These people are genuinely Ludacris in the manner in which they treat their paying guests, its unbelievably shocking to say the least
Boma Bar has a lovely view on the lake Game and baby rabbits running around
Nice outdoor family venue . Food is average
Had a great time having lunch overlooking a gorgeous dam and beautiful wildlife!
Such friendly efficient staff. Beautiful wide open spaces with different buck, zebra, wildebeest, donkeys and horses that free walk past the well thought out rooms, which are elegant and spacious. There is an abundance of bird life and two large dams that a person can either relax under the boma , braai or fish. So much more other activities as well and also across the road from Pigl Wigly. Stunning venue
Great place to be, and the food is on another level.
