The hospitality offered here is top-notch. The food is phenomenal - the best I have had at a hotel in years. The rooms are very nice. The grounds are well kept. The game drives were great. One evening we saw all the Big Five. And of course every drive was very productive. But there was so much more too. You just cant go wrong here. I mean warm, scented towels when you return from your dusty drive! What a wonderful treat.

As novices, we were a bit apprehensive about not being in Kruger Park itself, but our stay at Mohlabetsi was a once in a lifetime trip that exceeded all expectations and was surely far better than what we would have experienced at Kruger. We could enjoy two safari drives a day, sometimes driving off road, being very close to the animals, also thanks to the amazing rangers (Lucky and Richard) and their knowledge of the reserve and nature in general. This meant that we saw the big 5 during our first drive, and had very close encounters with lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, giraffes and much more.We stayed in the Lily Impala Suite, which was beautiful, luxurious and authentic in equal measure with direct views out into the bush. Nina, Jacques, Tony, and the lodge team were incredibly welcoming and took really good care of us. The food was delicious and eating out each night by firelight at the Boma was truly memorable. We can’t recommend Mohlabetsi highly enough and hope to return!

Top lodge across all aspects: lots of game (we saw the big 5), great food and boma, very friendly host and rangers (Jack was brilliant and great with our kids! thanks for spotting the hyena :)). Dont doubt to go there. Its worthwhile driving a bit more to the north.

We had a wonderful time in Mahlabetsi Safari lodgeWe stayed here 5 days/4 nightsThe service is fantasticThe safari tour starts from 5-9 amBreakfast after thatLunch at 2 pmAnd Safari tour from 4-7 pmDinner at 8 pm.More important thing is we found many interesting wildlife and the ranger always explain and stop or move when we want a better photo shot. The guests also very nice and friendly from all over the world, mainly European. However I found the set up group for Safari tour is a bit weird, as we stayed there very long we would like to see some other new animals but because they kept adding new guests in our car, so we kept seeing big 5 games (as much as we can) I ended up having thousand of Leopards, Rhino, Elephants etc...I understand this is good for new guests as they all want to see big 5 but we saw them and we want to explore new animals

I have been to Mohlabetsi 6 times. Each trip required over 24 hours of travel to get there, and I still look forward to every visit. You cannot ask for more care from the lodge and that includes every worker there. The game drives never fail to amaze and each and every one is unique. We always go with other people and we have never had one who wasnt extremely pleased to be at Mohlabetsi and regretted having to leave. All in all the best vacation and/or life you can hope for.

We have been to this lodge four times, 2004, 2008, 2013 and 2015 and the reason we keep returning is that we cannot fault it. Everyone associated with looking after you are wonderful and cannot do enough for you. It has the luxury of the camp combined with proper rough safaris (no tarmac roads). We always have wonderful sightings.

We had four nights and three safari days at this magical Lodge. Everything was, honestly, perfect! From the game drives to food to the service. Beautiful located overlooking a small waterhole, right under the milky way - next time we do safari in Kruger its gonna be at Mohlabetsi!See you next time (:

I cant recommend Mohlabetsi enough! I hosted my wedding here and cant wait to get back.Nina, who oversees day-to-day operations, had homemade iced tea prepared for our arrival! She was extremely helpful during our stay and even had my suit ironed within an hour of arrival. Our entire wedding itinerary was expertly planned by Candi, the manager. From the celebratory bottle of champagne in our rondavel to the absolutely beautiful private dinner we enjoyed on the lawn, everything was perfect. I really couldnt imagine anything that wouldve made the occasion more special! Our game drives at the lodge were exceptional - Jacques and Doctor, our guides, were extremely knowledgeable and friendly. It was very impressive to see the two track a pride of lions and position us in the perfect spot to view a chase. Jacques was able to answer any questions that we had, and took the time to teach us about everything from the composition of kudu horns to the constellations present in the night sky.Im very sad that we were only able to spend one night here. If youre debating Mohlabetsi vs. another lodge or camp in Kruger, I would highly recommend that you spend time here - the lodge, staff, and wildlife are incredible.

This is a little piece of paradise within paradise itself. The staff, the food, the lodges; you just have to relax here. At sunrise (6.15) you enjoy the first safari, then breakfast and time to relax and enjoy the silence. At 15.30 you go on the second safari, both done by the same team of tracker and ranger. They will do everything in their power to ensure you see at least once the Big 5 and lots of other animals. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all onsite, since you are miles away from a city. The food is delicious! Go there!

We had a wonderful time at the Lodge. We stayed 3 nights and went on 5 safaris. The staff at the lodge (reception, kitchen, service, safari guides) are very friendly and customer oriented.Rondawels (rooms) spacious, well decorated, spotless clean and with an outdoor shower.Copious and delicious breakfast served after the safari. Dinner is served on one big table around the bonfire.Special thanks to our safari guide Karl, who guided us with extensive knowledge and skills. During our first morning safari we spotted 7 leopards (+2 puppies) ! Already on our second day we had seen all big 5. Karl thought is 70% luck and 30% skills - We think it was the other way around !Karl always went that extra mile to make sure we see the animals (searching tracks, watching, etc.).We had a wonderful time at the lodge. And the Balule Rerserve is truly a big 5 property.

To anyone who has a dream of an African Safari or to those who have been to the six star lodgesYou must go to Mohlabetsie! We have just returned from a four week trip in Africa and Mohlabetsie was the star in our crown...I challenge anyone to fault it as a true African experience. My wife being physically impaired was treated with complete care.We may have just missed out on the big 5 but two packs of wild dogs..Woah! Having experienced over 300 drives over the years our ranger Sydney could not be topped. Easily said but please God we will be back.Thank you all at MohlabetsiePaul & Lynne Johnston Ireland

At the end of December 2010 we spent 3 nights at this beautiful Lodge. We breathed a fabulous atmosphere. The units are surrounded by nature, everything is fascinating and relaxing. The staff, the owners and rangers were friendly and welcoming and have organized their days so that we could taste and touch the savannah and its incredible animals. The kitchen was excellent as was the service. The rooms are nice, clean and in colonial style. The shower is outside, so if you do it in the evening can become a thrilling experience. The reserve is easily reachable through 7 km of dirt road. Truly a place we will not forget. Thanks Mohlabetsi!

This lodge and its safaris will remain the best memory of our trip to South Africa! The welcome and friendliness of the staff are really to be emphasized. The rooms are spacious, clean, well decorated. The setting is superb since we are in the middle of the reserve, so we regularly see impalas, kudu, giraffes, ...The dinners around the fire will remain a magical memory as the atmosphere is great. Finally, most importantly, the safaris (with our ranger Lucky, who lives up to his name :-)) are breathtaking; the big 5 seen several times in 4 safaris. The reserve is gigantic, you hardly ever come across any other 4x4, you feel alone and truly privileged among this very rich fauna.Really great stay so, thank you to the whole Mohlabetsi team!

From the first minute we felt very comfortable in the lodge. There is nothing missing, the food is great, the area was very nice and well maintained, the rooms with love furnished and in the wilderness outside showers is a great experience. The game drives were a great success for us, we saw the Big 5 right on the first ride. Our rangers Sam and Richard have explained a lot and have patiently answered all our questions. In addition, they have tried to fulfill the wishes of all guests regarding which animals and situations would like to be seen.Would we book again immediately.
