Great place for a morning coffee and pastry. We’ve visited a few times and its always a delight. Danish pastries are filled with custard and various fruit flavors. The candied orange peel swirl was delicious! The cheese croissant is a must try.

The Upper Millstone is sublime. EVERYTHING is delicious - particularly almond croissants, which I will turn around to buy if theyre on the Hilton Avenue board. Its a heavenly haven to sit and sip while working (WiFi) or to meet.

The croissants here literally melt in your mouth, and the cappuccino is absolutely divine! There are a number of coffee shops in Hilton, but you will miss out if you dont visit this one! A very worthwhile stop on your Midlands visit!

The most amazing bread, get there early to get it hot out the oven.Coffee is very good, and the croissants are very tasty. The staff is very friendly, the interior has a relaxed atmosphere, and some nice decor.

Ever since they first opened my family has been ordering the fresh bread almost every week. The place has a great vibe, good coffee and fantastic bread! Definitely the go to breakfast spot in Hilton. The only problem is that they sell out so frequently! If youre going through Hilton in the morning be sure to stop by.

What can I say about this gem of a place. Their pastries are beyond fantastic. Their toasted egg salad sandwich was out of this world. I love this place. This is definately a must to visit.

Like going here after school dropoff. Excellent morning music (usually something bluesy and with some guitar chops) Coffee is usually great but a little diminutive. They do have variety of tastes in coffee beans tho, but I do wish they served it hotter and bigger for my liking since its not cheap! Lovely decor, staff and baked goods

First time visiting the The Upper Millstone, awesome little spot and from the foot traffic a popular place in Hilton. The aromas that were wafting out of the bakery were chasing my taste buds to do the tango. They were do tantalizing that I joined the que to purchase some mouth watering delights. Youre most probably wondering why I didnt give it 5 stars. Sadly our coffee was cold when it arrived, if not gor that it would have been 5/5.

Good place to meet for coffee and a light meal!

Quite popular in the mornings. Stopped in to meet a friend after a bike ride. With the rain they had indoor seating that was safely distanced and fast service. The array of baked goods and meals from croissants to danishes to fresh sandwiches and their speciality breads were on show and leaving the trays in a flash! More were being made jusy behind the ordering counter - fresh fresh!The vibe is so positive and happy. Hot chocolate was so fun with the warm milk and block of chocolate. Cappuccino with latte art is always a winner. Friendly staff and affordable prices make for a lovely meet up with friends or, with WiFi available, a great place to work. A place where staff not only treat you as friends but as family.

Great little coffee shop and bakery. All the pastries are delicious, especially the chocolate filled croissant. It has a lovely relaxed atmosphere and you can grab a chair and enjoy your coffee outside on the veranda while watching the world go by.

I used to live in Europe - so Ive been to some amazing bakeries and coffee shops. The Upper Millstone is by far my favourite place in SA for both! They are absolutely passionate about what they do and the coffee and pastries (always fresh) are to die for.

This artisan bakery provides something that I have not found anywhere else - adventure by bread. Because the bakery is the focus, and Josh does very little else, I know that there will always be something tasty, healthy and innovative coming out of the ovens. Combine that with very carefully made top quality coffee, authentic friendliness and hand-made furniture, and you have a place that I go back to regularly, recommend to friends, and feel comfortable in. Great little cafe with a hipster and old rock vibe. Housing delicious pastry, artisan breads and baked goods. Accompanied with an array of nicely roasted coffee or hot chocolate that is made from real chocolate and premium milk.Making it even better was the friendly and helpful staff that were quick to guide one to some great spots in the town.
