My sisters and I had lunch at your lovely restaurant on the 29/08/21. It was a first time visit. We were attended to by a lovely waiter (Felix or something with a F sorry I cant remember)The food was great and our waiter gave us excellent service 👍And because of this we will be back soon!

When 5 of us got there it wasnt very buzy.The place is very clean and tables neatly arranged for arriving patrons.Our waiter was very friendly and attentive toward us.The portion sizes were adequate and very flavourful.As fast as the sauces go I would have preferences traditional crushed garlic instead of the smooth paste they served us.The manager as well as the waiter cameras to check up on us to ensure we were happy.The one unisex ablution at the back was very clean too.I recommend this pizzeria to all pizza & pasta loving folks out there.

Our waiter was awesome but the manager didnt even take notice of us. It was empty when we walked in, no waiters at the front but the manager was there and didnt even attend to us. We ended up just choosing a place to seat and waited until the waiter came to us. But when a couple of a different race walked in the manager was the first to welcome them and showed them where to seat. The food on the other hand was okay. Enjoyed their chicken livers but not their pizza.

Great place, great service and wonderful staff. Pizza was tasty and the variety was good, the pizza bases however, are made too thinly (burnt edges) base should be thicker than a mazzo cracker and not burnt around the edges

OMG... Probably the worst Margarita Pizza I have EVER tasted in my life. There is literally NO TASTE, absolutely DRY (almost no base sauce on it), cheese overcooked and tastes bland. No to mention we waited over an hour for it...

Great place for a meal and the revamp looks good. Although it is not very child orientated and the passage is not wide enough for a table of 4 and a pram to fit. Food is great with a wide selection and the service is not bad at all. All around good.

We orders a burger with Bacon the bacon was Ice cold. Management promised they will correct this deficiency. We will be back at Radom the burger was delicious

Peppa Giovanis have now taken over the Butcher Boys. We went there because my partner wanted fillet steak. She was impressed with her meal. I had the best pepper burger I have ever had. Amazing! The waiter we had did not get our order right on two occasions, despite writing everything down. He needs some guidance. We will certainly be back for the food.

Purchased 2 large take away pizzas. A butternut and a mexicana.Bases were nice and crisly but filling was very scarce meaning much of the time you were eating only a crispy base.

Ordered three Pizzas for dinner on MrD. After waiting for an hour and fourty five minutes, we recived our pizzas ice cold. This was not thefault of MrD, but Papa Giovannis for extending the sheduled pick up time three times.Absolutely livid.

Love the new revamp , Andrew has got a brilliant setup great friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere . Food is good with a wide selection. The pizza my hubby had was delicious, the pasta where a little disappointing average need a bit more spice and love. The service is really excellent and the restuarant was very busy. The place is very clean and tables neatly arranged for patrons.Our waiter was very friendly and attentive toward us.Andrew keeps his eyes on everything, waiters check up on you all the time to ensure a great experience.The toilets sadly had no water area issue . Staff kept them clean. No child play area if you wanting a restuarant that your kiddies can be entertainedWill definitely be back

Wonderful atmosphere and great food

Most definately NOT an Italian restaurant.A poorly South Africanised bastardised menu trading on Italian culture, and most certainly a grave insult to Italian cuisine.Caramalised onions in pasta, unheard of, white sauce carbonara, nonsense, and the pizzas are like stale salticrax with cheap toppings.Safest bet there, if you must, is a steak, and that is clearly not their forte either.Not recommended for Italian food.

Good customer service, decent time for take away. Accomodating of vegans (requested no cheese on pizza) but wish there was a greater amount of toppings (pizza was a little sparce)

Comfortable and intimate. I nice place to bring someone for a quiet dinner together. The Gin selection is very good as well. Food is good. Pizza is always wonderful and the pasta is very nice as well.

Small and cozy, this is the place for an intimate dinner. The pizzas are done properly (wood fired oven) and the other Italian fare is just as good.Great ambiance, food and service, thats why we go back regularly!

Service is pretty slow although the staff are friendly and helpful. The bar was good and the gin cocktails were well prepared. The food was below average. None of us really enjoyed our meals. Definitely will not be hurrying back any time soon.

Food was excellent whether you want Italian pastas or you desire something from the butchery, all will please you!

Vibe in the restaurant was great. Music that was playing was very delightful. Food was AMAZING. Ordered the Salmon Fettuccine and it was cooked to perfection. Wine selection is excellent and service was excellent. Would definitely recommend this restaurant for any foodie or fan of Italian food. I will definitely be a regular at Papa Giovannis.

Excellent pizza & pasta night !

We frequent Papas due to their friendly staff and delicious food. We have always found the staff willing to go the extra mile, and have always been satisfied with their food. The fact that they have Stella on tap is a mayor bonus.

Perfect for Date night. Very romantic. Definitely not shy with the cheese on the Lasagna👌. The smell of the food is very inviting and can certainly make your tummy growl. Definitely a place for over eating. Very friendly managing and wait staff. Excellent place for old and young. Great value for money. Massive thumbs up.

Must be honest, the old Papa Giovanni had a much better atmosphere. Since the revamp it now looks just like an non described restaurant, nothing Italian about it. On the food we did have a good meal. The pizzas are still very good.

Great food. Great prices. And not a long wait at all.My only issue was that 2 x tables of 15 were put back to back. It wasnt ideal as I couldnt get in and out from my table, without having to disturb 3 other people to do so. And it was hellish loud.I would imagine though being in a booth, it would be so great.

Been before. Recent revamp. Pizza was really top class. Pasta dish average. Service friendly and correct but slow. Nice wine list. Full gin choice.

AWESOME gluten free pizzas.Devine fries.And great service.Atmosphere is a bit low but that depends on the number of guests at the time.They are very accommodating with my lactose intolerance and basically can provide a gluten free pizza with no cheese and essentially make it vegan.The foccasia is also fab and available as gluten free.

Under staffed and this impacted on quality of food. Had to get our own ice and glasses. No manager that we could see. Only 2 waitresses. Huge disappointment.

Me and my family are regulars here but tonight was quite terrible. Under staffed and NO management in sight. Poor waitresses were struggling to keep up (only saw two). Very disappointing. . .

Great place to eat

Food was great however the service was very bad. Food took forever to arrive and manager more interested in his phone most of the night. Will visit again but for takeaways only.

This restaurant has had an overhaul and now boasts a bar area and quite a small restaurant section. Nonetheless the pizzas are the best in town and the service is prompt and polite. As usual it was a pleasure to visit.

Ladies Night...totally accept they busy! But we had to go and call waitress and give her drink orders, collect cutlery! I had the Pizza R69 special with a glass of wine...the pizza was the size of Debonairs small lunch time special for R29! The cherry on the top was to be told by the manager at 9.30.....the card machine wasnt working , so cash or zapper! No cash on me..had to borrow from a friend! Really expected SO much more from Papa G

First time back post lockdown and revamp - what an awesome experience! All staff friendly and attentive, managers checking in frequently as well. Food delicious, just like we remember. Happy to see the place busy and operating at its best. Still highly recommend.We have been frequenting Papa Giovannis in Hillcrest for a good couple of months now. The service and food is of a consistently high quality, and we always enjoy ourselves when we visit. Highly recommend.

Not the same as it once was - we use to go there every week...the white sauce base used with all their pastas tastes of flower...pizzas are the only choice...The new look decor does not suit the Italian theme...limited...menu choice

Disorganised staff and mediocre food at best.On my most recent visit, my mom and I ordered takeaway, paid and were told the order would be ready to collect in 15-20 minutes. When my mom returned to collect the order 15-20 minutes later, the kitchen staff figured out one of the items we had ordered was out of stock. Instead of communicating with us, the waiter walked past my mom to go outside and spoke with a young man. They both walked past my mom and went back into the kitchen, again without communication. Then the waiter came out from the kitchen and told my mom they were out of stock for the one dish. My mom asked to speak with the manager. Understandably irritated, she told this 20-something manager that he wasnt doing his job if he was sitting outside with a female friend while the orders werent being prepared. Bearing in mind that there is a minimum of a 20-30 year age gap between the young manager and my mom, he justified this saying how dare my mom say he wasnt doing his job?, and later that he was a person too that deserved a break. 🤣🤣🤣Pathetic service! There are other resturants, even italian ones, within 2 blocks of this location that provide excellent food and polite service, I would recommend googling one of them.Manager not contactable and never returned calls... 😳

Cant make margarita, waited over an hour for 2 pizzas. Upset with quality same if not less then debonairs
