Great value for money. Basic but clean and tidy. Can get a little rowdy but overall a good budget friendly option for those simply looking for a nice place to sleep

It was cold and stormy, the wind howling and the rain pouring down when I arrived at the Hermanus Backpackers just shortly after sunset.Grateful to learn that there was some open rooms and dorm beds available. The friendly lady at reception showed me all the available rooms. Somewhere at the back of the beautiful pool area, I found what I was looking for. A nice private room with en-suite. Bonus!! Kettle, coffee & milk on the house. Free WiFi.I was planning to stay one night only, but ended renting the room for the entire month. The rate was so reasonable, I could not resist :)Backpackers is a spotless, tranquil retreat. Everyone is super friendly and helpful. With a nice entertainment area with a pool table, bar and kitchen.Fortunately I am a digital nomad and can work from anywhere.Hermanus Backpackers is Awesome!!

Wonderful people, and a lovely cosy house. Room was upgraded to the family room for free as it was a quiet season. Bedroom was fresh and bright with an amazing mountain view and a chic bathroom. Also had a private little balcony to have tea on in the morning.

The most beautiful amazing place, Jacquelin,son and team are all amazing hosts, was treated like royalty and a King.This is from the deepest part of my heart. Definitely making it my home away from home#from Brian Robert Koga

A nice place to stay. Nice welcome by the ladies 😉 at the reception. A perfect 👌🏽 warning above the TV. It’s not just another funny picture. It’s walking distance to the small town and beach. They can help you organize your activities in Hermanus which is a good thing. Bathroom could be better.

Great hostel. Me and my sister spent one night in a double room there, it was cozy, well furnished, with a very ample bathroom. Common spaces are wide and warm as well. + Super kind hosts.

A great stay, the team here are really lovely and helpful and bent over backwards to help us out. The house is comfortable with nice light and airy rooms, a decent shower and a pool table. There is also a small swimming pool but didnt swim in it.

Although they where not sure of what was available and after saying 3 times what room we wanted we where told that another one was available... But, when we where finally booked in, the room was great and the bed with all linen gave us a wonderful night rest!!

Clean, cozy, and very homey! Pets are great. Location is ideal to walk around and access anything you need. Quiet place, wifi is good. However not a social place and wouldnt necessarily recommend for someone alone as there isnt a bar and was.much more family or researcher oriented when I was there

I had an awesome weekend. I loved everything about my stay here. This place would be my first choice for a family weekend away from home.

The rooms are nice and cosy. It’s clean. Free bread and jam breakfast if your keen. The downside is, it can get very rowdy at night well past 03:00 even if the rules state no noise after 10:00.

Quit nice for to be a backpacker, price very good. employees are friendly and very helpful (special thanks to the Argentinean girl at the front desk). the private room is very nice and the shower amazing. Ambient very good and young. location is ok. There are a few pets walking around.

Weve been welcomed very friendly. People there were helpful in every possible way. If you book the tours in Hermanus you even get a discount if you do it via Backpackers. Really nice and clean location. Our stay was cheap compared to the other accommodations in town.We even had romantic oil candles in our room. The room was big with a huge bathroom beneath the roof. In the morning you even get a small free breakfast. You get greeted by a very fat cat and Jock - the security dog :)We would come here again at any time.

Friendly staff, very clean with all the kitchen equipment you need to make your own food. Dorm was very clean as well, wifi is quick and convenient which often is not the case at backpackers. Downside is there is no bar and location has a lot of neighbors around which might keep this place from unfolding all the potential for later hours of the day. But overall a very nice, clean and convenient place.

We had a wonderful time at Hermanus Backpackers. We were not in the main house . We were in the house down the road . All the bedrooms were en suite clean and spacious . The kitchen was 5star. Location 5 star. Service 5 star. Go and enjoy Hermanus

This was a great place to stay at. The staff is really friendly and here if you are in need pf anything.There is a lot of activities and you can ask them them to book some for you. They even might give you some advice regarding your activity so you can fully enjoy without being too expensive.The rooms are lovelly, clean and comfy. You really feel at home.On mornings they provide jam, butter and bread and of course coffee and tea at will.Oh by the way, there is a swimming pool and a bar (no alcohol there but you can bring yours) with a real pool.Do not miss jock, the dog and the two cats (i dont know their name, theyre cats anyway), they are lovely.

Great location with friendly staff. Clean with towels and nice pool. Unfortunately it takes tour groups and groups of locals. Hence loud drunken behaviour people being sick ringing door bells at 4am waking the rest of the guests up. It has the potential to be so much better

We got a double suite there, and we were just shocked...it looks like a five star hotel!The room and communal areas are very well cleaned, it has 2 kitchens, swimming pool and breakfast. The receptionist was very helpful and friendly.The room had a large bed, carpet, and a place to hang some clothes. Bathroom was just huge! And beautiful decoration, with a great shower.Just the breakfast that was not so good(only toasts with jelly or butter) but still have something.Recommend.

Nice, conveniently located and comfortable. Stayed during some unrest in Hermanus so some services and stores around town were either inaccessible, not open, or understaffed, which delayed a few things. Besides that the actual lodge was convenient and the staff were friendly and helpful. We had a family room which had an attached bathroom and the wifi, although not fast, was at least available. The price was acceptable but bear in mind that Hermanus is a little more expensive than some other towns as it is a holiday destination. Shops, restaurants and beautiful views are all within walking distance, or a very short drive. Would stay there again.

This place was OK, I found it last minute. It seemed like they just quickly wanted my money and left me to myself. At least they had internet and TV - which it seemed like the locals were enjoying.

Good reception beautiful and clean great place.

My fiance and I stayed there for about four days. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. You make the food and you clean up after yourself, pretty standard. The gate locks after hours so that was a nice touch. Shops and restaurants are pretty close by; however, Id recommend taking a lift like Uber or the equivalent when you need to get around, i.e. dont be walking home at night with backpacks. That being said, not of that should deter you from experiencing Hermanus, and we would stay there again for sure.

Great backpackers. Very social venue. The promised WiFi was a bit weak and the kitchen area a tad confusing and awkward (looks as if people were living there long-term). Other than that, great location and friendly staff.

Awesome atmosphere! Shawn from the reception has the best recommendations for a real Hermanus experience at great value. In the evening we even had a hostel hosted braai with all the backpackers :). I definitely recommend staying here! One small hiccup was that the showers in the separate building had no warm water when we stayed there for a weekend.

Great place but the top portion of our dorm wall was glass panels that let in all the light and noise from the hallway. Pool, bar, kitchen, common area and bbq pit were all good.
