With an amazing view, and truly lavish setup, this was a great experience.We had the lunchtime menu, with burgers and fish. What a treat! I would recommend saving space for the cheesecake as well.

We had the most wonderful lunch there on the front veranda. The food was delicious and the best mussels we have ever had in a very tasty basil sauce!!! All was good and I can honestly say the service was excellent and professional! Highly recommend this beautiful venue.

Exceeded my expectations: Everyone at our table was extremely happy with the quality of the food. The service was excellent. Views over vineyards and Botrivier lagoon were good. The restourant with its modern glass and concrete architecture is also a bit of an art museum. Highly recommended!

Once again, one of our favorite places to visit in Hermanus delivers...we attended the brunch from 10 till 1130...the brunch menu has some excellent choices my personal fav being the smoothies which at R80 may seem allot... Till you see the quantity... Its enough for 2 people, I had the banana, mango smoothie...the breakfast portion as can be seen from the Pic is huge...it was excellently prepared...the venue is most importantly doggy friendly and the staff were very attentive...Will definitely be back again...

Exceptionally disappointing. I phoned and booked a table for 13 people and requested the terrace. On arrival the restaurant had taken a unilateral decision to place us in the courtyard. My view was a large sliver food truck and a blank white wall with a no smoking sign.

We had a lovely time. Great food and wine! Will visit again. Must understand food to appreciate pairings and portions. The desserts for us did not work in terms of flavor and texture, but that is a personal preference. Perfect spot for special occasion.

Modern setting, high ceilings and large undercover outdoor seating area with a professional yet casual group of staff and attentive management team. Enjoyable meals from a modern menu with a wide variety of beverages. For colder days there are two fire places and a wide view over the bay!

It is a good lunch spot. The lunch menu is simple and limited, but each dish is well prepared and tasty. The restaurant has beautiful views over the lagoon and is well worth a visit.

Food was delicious and service attentive although a little confused at times. Portions way too big, they could save money by reducing these but still keeping strong flavours. The views and grounds are beautiful, I recommend visiting this gem in Hermanus.

Tried the platter with a fantastic Vinography Sauvignon blanc. Had a perfect day with just a slight breeze to keep us cool.The gallery is great and its very creative to have the art dot the outdoor landscape.A terrific spot away tucked away from it all.

We love to have lunch here on a Sunday. Wine, food and location are simply perfect

Good example what lots of money with little thought and empathy can do.Kitchen aims to be haute cuisine but fails miserably and goes straight to the wannabe category. Service is friendly and great but cannot make you forget the tasteless, fancy-looking meal you just forced down for no other reason but place being far and expensive so might as well finish it.You perhaps came with kids and was hoping for a quiet meal while kids are busy elsewhere. Thatd be your expectation given the place advertises itself as kid-friendly. Well think again. The playground and the water features designed for kids (kudos for that) are 500 meters away from restaurant on the other side of a busy parking lot. Not only you cannot see the kids there but its not like they can come running back to you should something go wrong. Also give them money. Lots of it as this is not a free facility at all and not only there is a hefty entrance fee but anything you may buy there will cost you a fortune. R25 for a can of coke or R15 for 30g of chips....talk about ripoff.Once you past all these hurdles (and the R280 entrance fee for a family of four) then instead of having a quiet meal you actually busy searing on the sun (dont expect shade as there is none) on metal chairs (which gets sizzling hot by midday)Sounds tempting?Do yourself a favor and avoid this pretentious money-pit.

The burger was good, the mussels average but the hake was raw, unfortunately the manager did not agree. A potentially lovely afternoon turned into a lets get out of here experience. Wont be back, to many really good offerings in the area.

For every one rating this restaurant above a one please visit La Fermier or Black Bamboo to see what five stars actually represents. Its all a matter of perspective. If youre used to Wimpy its a five star but then again McDonalds would be a six. One star because I cant give it a zero. Go to Mannys in Botriier for a more imaginative menu and better service.

A lovely place - elegant and beautifully appointed. The restaurant was a HUGE disappointment. We ordered the pork belly and I am convinced the meat portion was not even 100gsm. When we complained to the waiter he was very helpful and explained that lots of people complained about the same issue. He suggested that we speak our minds to the manager who was extremely defensive and unaccommodating. Although the food was well prepared the portion size was grossly misrepresented and as such we cannot recommend the Moody Lagoon restaurant.
