When last did you take a drive to Hartebeespoort Dam and surroundings. We recently did some exploring and finally made our way to the Upside Down House BroederstroomIt definitely makes you feel slightly drunk. I was more worried that it feels like it needs some TLC and that my butt was going to fall through the wood 🤣Definitely a new experience. My advice go extra early before the crowds get there as they have a huge area for people to chill and have functions etc. Some people can be selfish and wont move out the way once taken pics to let others take pics, thats the only downside. There should be some sort of control so that everyone gets a chance without people getting upset when you ask them to move out the way when just standing there. I can only imagine the chaos the day before as that parking lot was overflowing with people as it was late in the day and a long weekend. They do open from 7am or 7:30am so you can take decent pics without tons of people in it. Get in, take pics, get out.#TheFoodMusketeer#TheFoodMusketeerTravels#TFMRoadTrip#TFMHarties
It is a very beautiful attraction and easy to find. The entramce fee is R100 for adults . You can bring your own food and spend they day there with family and friends. They have braai stands. I loved the colours of the upside down house. It is advisable to wear comfortable shoes. You can b seen cry creative with taking pictures, make it look like you are hanging from the furniture.
Really good outing for the whole family, lots of places to take nice photos for the memories. Restaurant service is top class, staff is friendly and helpful, menu is not big but there is something for everyone to fill the hole. There is a small shop where you can buy all sort of memory things for everyone for the day for Up side Down. The staff all over is friendly and very helpful. Remember your camera or charge your phone, lots of photos to be taken. Thank you Up Side Down for an awesome affordable day
The upside down house works out really expensive if you just going to see the house. My suggestion is that you make a day out of it and plan a picnic to get your money’s worth for the entrance fee.The views are breathtaking and the kids would definitely enjoy a day well spent
You wouldnt typically expect something this unique out in the middle of a smaller town environment, but Hartbeespoort has become very popular lately and this is a must-see for anyone who frequents or visits the area. You dont really know what to expect, at first, but we were very pleasantly surprised about how well-done it actually is, how surprisingly enormous the impact is, once youre inside and how friendly the staff is!A wonderful experience that anyone should bother to go and have!
It was nice but you will be dizzy when you get out
Very interesting tourist attraction. I do not suffer from vertigo but felt sick and disoriented as soon as we walked in. Would recommend for the experience but will not be visiting again. Also, huge grounds but not very much else to do except standing in line for a 15minute walk through the house. Also, amount of people entering the house at a time is not controlled so people just push past once inside and dont practice social distancing. Imagine feeling disoriented and being pushed past?
Nice place to be just the queue was long. Love to go back again
People should really visit this place. Very nice, for a family day or a date day.
The place is well managed, Covid protocols are observed and the place has improved a lot since the last time I was there. The kiosk sells a variety of light meals and bevs
Ii absolutely loved it!!! The experience was absolutely mindblowing.. there is enough entertainment for everyone in the family Young and Old. Id definitely recommend this place. There is food and refreshments. Yes theres alcohol refreshments as well... the feeling is like nothing youve ever felt before.
Wonderful place, good for the whole family. Still young and lots of potential to expand. Upside down house is something to see.
It was a weird and unique experience. It messed with my mind for a while. Was it fun? We did it twice!!Check the bathroom loo for a surprise.
Great family outing. Gets quite busy but worth the wait. Basic take away menu available. Food was tasty and fresh. Covid protocols in place.
Was an experience. Amazing how unbalanced you feel when walking in the house. Almost like youre brain is telling you this is not how its supposed to be. 😂 Had a really good time. Thanks to the friendly staff. ⚘🌻
Average. But worse. Queues are loooooong on weekends. You will wait atleast an hour or so before you get in. Bring an umbrella as theres little to no shade while you wait. The house gets packed. No one monitors how many people get inside the house at one time. People have their masks off. Its stuffy and hot. The kitchen and dining areas were cordoned off. Although people chose to ignore the tape. If you do come, do try and come when theres fewer people. The experience might be a lot better then.
A little underwhelmed about the place... Because the only interesting thing the is the house and it takes a few minutes to explore after that the isnt anymore attracts. But you can chill around and buy food and drinks.
The place is too hyped up and not well priced. No guides, no recording or explanation, just you walking around. It would be great to have a detailed explanation to how the house came about. The house is also not so clean.
Its a good place to visit when you are too bored at home. Just 45 min drive from Johannesburg.
Fun place to be with your family, child friendly as well
Very lovely place. Couldnt get into the other rooms as it was restricted. It is very hot inside, it would be nice to have an air conditioner to avoid feeling hot and dizzy
Nice looking but you done in 10 minutes. Not worth driving far too visit. And R 100 a person for 10 mins...
The concept of the upside down house is very interesting but the experience did unfortunately not match the expectation. The two story house offers +eight upside down staged areas, ranging from a bedroom, study to a kitchen.
Creativity at its best we had a great time, my mom loved it💞
This is a very creative work. Its a must see.
The furniture inside the house is upside.....then thats it nothing more is interesting. The R100 theyre charging is too much for that, the yard is big so much vacant be done like putting swings for kids.Covid 19 regulations are not followed properly also. Im not completely impressed
Tbis place has an experience value of its own. A whole house, upside down, 😎 thats different
Interesting place to visit if you are looking for a fun activity.Took us 15min to see all there is in the house. There is plenty of space for a lunch and pick nick. There is a café selling food and drinks, souvenir shop and plenty of Covid safety precautions at the entrance.
Beautiful place and great for outdoor activities. Atmosphere so refreshing.
The house is a wonderful attraction. The activities around it not that much. The place has a huge potential to be a major attraction.
Mind boggling... awesome photos taken inside and outside....Food at the Take Away Excellent
A unique and creative idea. Awesome experience for the kids which is over very quickly. Everything in the house is built upside down which makes for some nice fun pictures, coupled with the floor inside the house being built at a slight angle that leaves you a bit dizzy by the time you walk out of the house. There is also a kiosk and a large covered sit down area. Overall it is something not to miss out on.
Nice family outing. Just get there early because the line gets long very quick. House is nice to see but is very hot on sunny days.
We had a breakfast bun and iced tea. There are a few jumping castles and a shaded area to sit and eat. A sweet little house tilted in its roof. Quite an experience and a bit disorienting when you walking in the house. Fun for all. Take some creative photos
Its wonderful.. wacky... I loved the experience.. awesome to visit with Family and friends.
Good place to chill with family and it is child friendly
Lovely 😍 place, kids can really enjoy the place.
Well organized with covid safety protocols in place. A lovely outing for the family. Its really well executed and interesting. Very different! Carry cash. Lots of parking and a nice little restaurant and souvenir shop.
Very long queue unmanaged... Covid-19 protocols not respected , food service was pathetic to say the list house was too hot my son almost fainted they must put a cooling sytem
Absolutely loved this place. A very unknown place but a must visit place. The experience is very different. The entry fee is also reasonable. They have a vast open space where this is constructed. There is a restaurant too where you can have food. Own food is also allowed.
Didnt know we could have a picnic..overall maybe because of our non_ architectural background the experience was average...
Great place to visit with family or friends, service was fast and polite smiles all the way recommend to everyone
If you go there to just view the house then most will feel like its money wasted, but if you go there to view and have chill day with some friends then it might be worthwhile, there is some braai facilities, sit benches, and some activities for kids (jumping castle and jungle gym) ....
I loved it, such world art. Im running out of words to explain the beauty of Upside Down House 🏠
Went over the weekend, too packed, no official in the house to observe Covid protocol. The kitchen and dining room. Were red tapped. If you are visiting soon go on an odd day
It was a nice experience, but a bit disappointed that the house was crowded with people taking photos. I would have had it that only 4 to 5 people can view the house without anyone cramping the space and only allow them for 5min or so... There is not much else to do...
Very wonderful. They have a shop to buy all your refreshments and food, and also a lovely area for kids. No time restrictions how long can one be inside. Covid19 protocols observed through out. Thanks for making my day so excellent.
Its a quick tour. R100 gets you in. Pretty cool house. Wish there was a little more to do after the tour was done as it is a far drive for a short visit. A good add to your holiday if you are on holiday in the Hartbeespoort area. Go during the week because it gets busy weekends and school holidays. I would recommend.
Upsidedownhouse enjoyed by the Old and young.Lovely family venue.Braai area and play area for the children.
Nice place to visit. You can chill with your friends and family. Make a braai and alcohol is allowed
Beautiful piece of attraction😍😍👌
Upside Down House is once in a lifetime visiting place where you can enter into a private property to see a house where the whole house is lying turtle on the earth. Its orientally very difficult to walk inside the house more than once, though they allow you to stand in the queue and re-enter. Your orientation is lost and can easily feel uneasy. The house entrance fees is R100 per adult and they have some of the restaurants and ice cream places too. You can also go for picnic as they have nice lapas built in by paying Picnic Fees of R50 which is nice. The bathroom and other facilities are clean and well kept. Good for a weekend trip to take some Instagram worthy photographs once in your life. Thanks
Upside down house ,near Hartebeest Poort.Nice place to visit, good food
Beautiful place surrounded by mountains. Entrance fee is R100. The house is very intriguing and unique. The furniture inside is also upside down. Theres a refreshments area and play area for children.
Cool to see, but way too expensive for what you get.
Lovely outing and unique attraction! We enjoyed every bit of it ☺
It is very beautiful, my kids loved it . The food are to die for 👌👌👌
The place is crowded, not managed even with covid. No proper ventilation in the house and no one managing the numbers inside the house. This is not worth the money you pay at the gate. A total mess and waste of money
Accommodating for family and friends they must improve their restaurant and their rest room.
Underwhelming to say the least.Youll spend more time waiting in the queue than you will inside. The entry fee is far too high for this experience. On entry into the house theres already several chains you cannot cross. You can make your way through the house in under 5 minutes as you cannot touch most things. The only accessible areas are the dining room and living room with a few upside down images on the wall. Theres absolutely nothing else on offer here to justify the R100 entry.
We enjoyed the family outing, entrance:would of helped to see more than one queue, or elder assistance
What a great weekend getaway 👌👌
Nice, but sadly no social distancing, especially inside the house. Some people just didnt wear their masks properly while talking, laughing and talking lots of photos.
A wonderful experience but..On a safety note; staff should be in the upside down house directing traffic especially during this covid 19 pandemic and making sure visitors are wearing their masks in the house especially! Also having sanitation points within the house is important.
Overated. Place was stuffy with poor ventilation. Its probably a challenge on an upside down house but an aircon or fan would make the experience abit more comfortable. Was a decent experience nonetheless. Visit once...wont do it again.
Cool to see for the kids, but gets pricey for a family
Crazy feeling loved it
Great experience..Exceeded expectations..
Loved the concept, something worth seeing. Cashier was welcoming and friendly, the queue was insanely long. Entrance fee is a bit pricey for only being able to view the house, not much other activities one can do. I would suggest they include a mini town or rides for the kids or even farm animals. Covid protocols not observed in the house and there is no one monitoring. Its a place you would see once out of curiosity however nothing else would attract you back.
Cover charge of R100 doesnt warrant the experience. Kids will enjoy this.
Not gd at all I didnt enjoy inside the house is to hot 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 u mst try to put aircon
Some areas were closed off( kitchen ). Nice idea for the kids. Bit over crowed. Little bit expensive for the time spent there
Omg when I got inside I felt sooo dizzy but there is a caution on the door before you enter that its on your own risk and people who have a condition called ladybirth may feel discomfort. Means I have that condition cos I felt dizzy and couldnt walk normally straight felt like I would fall LOL but it was such a wonderful experience was very beautiful the house looked beautiful
Very cool and weird 🤣 entrance fee of R100 pp
Very great outing for a family day. The house itself isnt much to write home about, but the experience was great.
Its definitely something else, but I wouldnt say its worth the entrance fee. You only need about 10 minutes to make your way through the whole house. The house doesnt have much inside except for a few upside down couches, tables and chairs to be honest. Theres a restaurant and souvenir shop on site, but we didnt try them out. The main attraction, the house, is definitely not worth the entrance fee. If you are travelling from afar, you are wasting your time.
The most amaxing upnornomal experience
Its very weird, just a different experience though
Nice one try it
Very nyc place to be🥰🥰
Loved it! Incredible experience
Costs a bit much for something that is over in a few minutes. Novel idea, though my son was underwhelmed and pointed out a few items in the house that were not upside down. Lots of potential to expand and enhance the experience.
