We were not impressed with the service. The restaurant wasn’t that full however the service was very slow. One waiter seated us but it took forever for another to take our order and for our food to arrive.Had the cheese burger and it was lovely, really enjoyed it.

Oh the food, wow, I can go back just for the food. The service was good and it was just a short wait before we had our food, which was very delicious and more than enough for a platter for one.

The waiter was very short and rude when seating us. The menu looked fantastic but after waiting 20 minutes for someone to get our drinks order, we went to the bar and ordered ourselves and decided to leave it at that. They werent crazy busy at the time, that would have made up for the lack of service. If you can get past that, the setting is amazing and they serve glass bottled cokes so thats always a win.

After seeing so many bad reviews about Lift Cafe, we had no option but to come here because divine foods at the view was closed. We already had speculations about the place but to our surprise, the service was 5 star, the views were breathtaking and the ambiance was tranquil and serene. The staff were friendly helpful and the tables and floors were clean.

Lift Cafe is located at the Graskop Lift Company, opening hours 8.30am to 5pm daily. Conservation entry fee of R20 per person required to enter the Graskop Life Company area.The cafe has a large indoor seating area as well as outdoor seating overlooking the gorge. Menu is a nice range of all day food orders. We found waitstaff to be friendly and service just fine.During our visit we had two double espressos and a slice of carrot cake, everything tasted just fine. The carrot cake was soft, moist and mildly sweet.We were happy with our visit, finding the cafe a good venue for a coffee and snack break after hiking the trail into the gorge below. Will gladly stop by again the next time we are in the area and visiting the Graskop Life Company conservation area.

Waited over an hour for our food...which was cold. Additional drinks ordered took 20min to arrive at our table. We honestly feel like the patrons forgotten in the corner, and will mot be returning!!!!

We arrived at the Lift Cafe on a quiet day and enquired if we were able to sit on the veranda where there is the most gorgeous view but was told “NO Management is having a meeting on the veranda you have to be seated inside” where there is NO view just a sterile minimalistic interior. Although it was quiet there were several tables that were not cleared or cleaned with staff standing around doing nothing really!

It was a cold morning and we just wanted some coffee. We also got throws to keep warm 💖. The service was excellent. Thank you.

We had lunch at the Lift Cafe. The service was quick and friendly. We shared three pizzas which we enjoyed but all agreed it wasnt among the best pizza weve ever had ... next time Ill order something else but I still wouldnt mind being served any of the pizzas weve had.

My experience here is one of the best Ive experienced for my entire stay at Graskop. The service is amazing. In 10 minutes, we had already been seen by 3 waiters - checking if we had already been attended to or not. I was very impressed. Theres a sense to service and urgency. Lovely! The fooyia amazing and the view ia absolutely marvelous.

The food is good, but if you plan on doing the Big Swing I would recommend eating there afterwards.

First of my worst experience ever, the waitress had a bad attitude towards us, she was cold and didn’t treat us with respect as patrons. She never checked up on us, we had to constantly whistle and wave to other waitrons for assistance. Then came the food, now that was the most horrific part, the spinach was off, everything else was dry and not enjoyable. Then came the bill, the monster of a waitress just dumped the bill and left, didn’t bother to mention to us that we only pay at the front counter. We waited forever for her, we had to ask for assistance from another waitress. Siesss what a terrible service you have Gorge lift cafe, yo are the worst restaurant ever, you don’t deserve to be operating from that beautiful surrounding, siesss

Really upset with lift café, we ordered some straight forward meals with drinks for takeaway, they mixed up with the orders with another customer order, we waited almost 1 hour for our order to be ready, 1 x ham, cheese and tomato, and 1x Bacon and Avo, the Avo did taste quite funky(bad). The milkshake, donuts and the ham, cheese and tomato sandwich was very nice.

Very disappointed. Looked like a nice restaurant with good food. Had to go with my 3rd choice of meal because my first 2 choices were out of stock. Waited very long to order and to pay.

For starters, the food was really tasty and cooked well. The staff was also very friendly and took care of us - however, our food took an hour and a half to arrive, tables arent cleaned and there is litter all over the floor when we were there.

Most horrible experience in my life!!! This is not a place I would consider going back to at all. The service is extremely poor. The food was not edible at all. Cold pineapple is added on pizzas ... imagine! The burger was prepared at least 2 hours before it was served. The service was also very poor. The Supervisor was not even bothered with the complaints nor the waitresses. In fact she ignored us completely when we said we were not happy with the food.

Food was a bit more expensive than a comparative restaurant. I ordered a burger and also fish and chips. The restaurant was not too busy with all people seated outside.The burger was nothing to write home about and the fish and chips were not particularly good. I guess we paid for the magnificent views.Would try other restaurants when I visit again.

The location of this restaurant is breathtaking.Feels like you hanging over the edge of the cliff.Highly recommend the pizzas and milkshakes!

Nice very busy slow staff

The service is just poor. For the past two days we went in the restaurant, given a menu and a table then 30 min later given a report on kitchen issues that already existed.

Great café with good menu variety without being complicated. Our orders were made from fresh and tasty ingredients. Coffee and cakes good too. Ill recommend Lift Café anytime.

You will have a breath taking view (on a cloud/mist free day) of the Graskop gorge.Our waitron was friendly and very efficient. The food was well prepared and very tasty. I really enjoyed the Original Chicken Prego.

The lift at Graskop . It is very expensive . You have to pay a conservation fee 20 per person . To go down the lift is 190 per person . R 210 per person is alot not really worth it considering there are alot of better activities around the area .

Vee was super nice and we loved the view. Pizza was good. Cabernet Sauvignon as well. Thanks so much! Cant see what previews rating say about bad service. But guess it improved now. Liked it. Vee was great and lovely and asked us if all is good and so on.

Was very quickly seated close to have a pleasant look over the gorge.Orderd couple of soft drinks which was served in a resonable time.The waitresses have a tendancy to take their time in moving and reaction.Had to wait a long time for my bill and we actually went to the cashier and paid.Tables and floor was clean.Prices are bit stiff in my opion.

Terrible service and over priced food that was very disappointing. One dish was so salty it was barely edible and the rest was under seasoned. We waited almost 20 minutes, after being seated, to place our order, then waited a further 30 minutes to receive our drinks which was bottled water that was priced R35 ; we continued waiting for our food. During all this waiting we witnessed several people complaining about the quality of the food as well as the long time they have been waiting for their orders. One group of ladies, that arrived before us, decided to leave after too long and receiving a rude response from a waitress when they inquired about their food. Its unfortunate that we had this bad experience at the Café after we were so impressed by the beauty of the gorge and the great service and efficiency of the lift staff. I would definitely recommend The Gorge Lift as a must do excursion but warn anyone to take a packed lunch or eat somewhere else.

Great hamburgers and cuppachino

“CLIFFHANGER” - for real.We came in to a dirty table, our waiter needed a wheelchair at the speed she was going. Food arrived with 14 minute intervals and had to be sent back to be reheated. It wasn’t busy at all, and I get why it was not.
