Bedding was clean and warm but the balcony was very dirty. Could not sit on a chair on the balcony to enjoy the view. Host was friendly but the receptionist and cleaners were unfriendly. No coffee available in room. Bed Side lamps did not work.

The facility is worn, unkept, unhygienic and some areas were dirty and dusty. The receptionist /cook was one of the most unfriendly persons I have ever met in a hospitality setting

Home away from home. Close to fuel station and restaurants/shops. In a serene environment and the reception upon arrival is very warm. The bedrooms are also very lovely, clean and comfortable. The staff is also friendly.

The line is engaged when you try to contact them. They claim to have a restaurant but when we called to make a booking they advised that they didnt have any food available. This being after they advised that they were fully booked for the weekend.

Was disappointed with the lodge - no-one communicated with us, no welcoming or hosting and had to find people when checking out. Room facilities are okay and bed comfy but facilities not worth the price they are charging.

Had the best butter chicken dinner here. Room was clean but average in terms of space and style for such a prime property. Breakfast was plain.

First impressions very good with quality finishes in foyer and passageways. However management is running the place into the ground.Our friends booking, paid for in 2013 already, not found and no room for her! Initially just shrugged and only when we insisted that they sort out the problem did they make another room available. The next day they moved her again to a room next to ours where they forgot to switch on the geyser. She had a cold shower the next morning.Upon arrival, no ice available. For a 4 star establishment? This was only seen to hours later. Our rooms looked onto a small courtyard with a dirty swimming pool, sad looking auto pool cleaner and neglected garden. Only the front rooms have the balcony and good valley views. Not all rooms as advertised. No Mnet channel in our room as advertised. Only 2 other satellite channels and 1 sport and sabc and e tv.Our dirty coffee cup not cleaned/coffee not replaced on one morning.No tables/chairs in the little garden courtyard, ie no other place to sit except your room or the common foyer/dining room area.General neglect of the little garden and dried plants in pots. None of the water features working. One water feature in the courtyard with dirty water and old paper floating in it. If the water features are not working to save electricity at least keep the water clean from foreign objects. Old tatters of flags on the flag posts. If you dont have new flags at least take down the rags! Holes in the parking paving. Door hooks torn out of the wall. Downlight in our room hanging by its wires from the fitting. Carpets dirty and threadbare at the sliding door to the courtyard. On Sunday afternoon a kiddies birthday party was held in the courtyard outside the room where our friend tried to rest after 3 days of trail running in the surrounding mountains.Upstairs conference facility clearly sees little use. A designated TV room used as staff accommodation, they use the conference toilet facilities as their bathroom.In general the impression is thus one of prime location, clearly some thought went into quality finishes and decor, but subsequent neglect and poor management does not warrant a four star establishment. Definitely not worth the price paid and if it were not for the fact that everything was pre-paid with obviously little chance of getting our money back, we would have packed up and left. One fellow runner did exactly that - after the first day she packed up and left.

Recommendation: place candles or battery lights in rooms for power outages. Disappointed about no chairs ON balcony as advertised. Had a good nights rest, bathroom decent, earned 5 star.Our hostess was fantastic, made special for our breakfast late morning. A big thank you for your hospitality and good luck with the new arrival (girl). We will visit you again.
