The staff went out of their way to help out with information about the region. Beautiful rooms. Highly recommended. Staff respectful and honest. Will go back.
Everything, the staff members are the greatest asset. Their hospitality is outstanding! They make one feel welcome. They want to assist, serve and be friendly, without being over bearing. The chef is a gem! Rooms are excellent! I stayed in a standard room. Well done.
Only hotel I sleep in when visiting Graaff-Reinet. Superb service & very friendly staff.
Such an amazing gem! We made a terrible mistake with our booking dates, however the management team dealt with it immediately in such a professional manner and they really went above and beyond to assist us! Would absolutely recommend staying here.
A quaint, vintage look, absolutely gorgeous. Lush, fruitful gardens. Friendly staff and an amazing, delicious array of breakfast, lunch and dinner. My only concern was the room i stayed in, had cob webs and spiders in a few corners. Other than that it was quite picturesque.
Enjoyed the stay. Standard rooms with all ammenities needed. Exceeds by far standard . The linnen and decor are luxurious. 4 3/4 star. Superior breakfast
Old meetings new absolutely beautiful! Excellent staff. Worth a visit.
A+ for the dog lovers. This is a dog friendly hotel. This was a lovely surprise. Rooms were lovely and spacious. There two pools one splash size and a bigger one. Swimming towels were provided. The bar however is too far away to order any drinks while tanning.1. Car parking was very secure2. No smart tvs for Netflix binging3. Very welcoming staff and reception. Very attentive to giest needs.4. Bath tub water restrictions. They should supply still water to use in kettle cause the tea tasted like hard water.5. If you are big in food portions, they are quite GENEROUS but for health conscious persons who want moderate servings, it aint happening. For me it killed my appetite before I started eating 🙃6. And of course there is an Africology spa to pamper yourselfTo sum it up, would I come back? Most definitely a do over place!!!
Amazing service - friendly, efficient and professional! So refreshing!
Most beautiful hotel room Ive ever seen. Lovely stay!
Great room. No hot water. Price on steep side
Superb venue with friendly and competent staff.. Meals were well presented and tasty. The room was well designed and had more than expected. Will definately return.Keep up the good work and a big thank you to all staff
Fabulous hotel, food is excellent and staff very friendly.
Very nice place to stay. They must just work on the Breakfast menu. Very confusing and for such a lot of stars one would expect a Buffet Breakfast with choice.
Had lunch at the restaurant, the whole table ordered fish and chips and we were very disappointed with portion size and the fish in general, could have gone to a fish takeaways and gotten a crispier, tastier and cheaper fish and chips for a quarter of the price, not saying bring the price down either, the fish needs to be atleast 30% larger, the batter could be thicker and crispier. Tartar sauce was nice though
A stunning hidden gem with a great restaurant, indulgent wine shop and a stunning art gallery. Definately a must stay location if you are in the area or just passing through. Completely worth the drive!
Excellent service and food in restaurant.Stunning hotel!!Highly recommended!!
Very nice looking and well maintained hotel and rooms. Lovely swimming pools. The service in the bar and restaurant was appalling - their excuse was that they continuously have newly trained staff - when paying these prices one expects good service and no excuses.
Joshándré is someone who thinks on his feet. He went out of his way to make it a pleasant experience for our wedding anniversary . A genuine jewel for the company.Jeandri - the trainee waitress is someone who goes the extra mile.Well done everyone.
Great Hotel. Excellent service. Major focus in enforcing Covid-19 protocol. Lovely restaurant.
A little village-like setting, with Narnia-like lampposts, Bo-Kaap coloured doors & shutters leading into crisply elegant rooms with classic checkerboard bathrooms. The skulls on the walls and dead animal skins on the floors doesn’t really fit with the rest of the cobbled village look except for the dining room which has an old smoking lounge type of aesthetic (big leather chairs, wood, skulls).Parking is a short walk from the rooms. Some rooms look out onto a grassed area; others onto a wall or other units; but each has a cast iron table and chairs which would be a pleasant spot to sit in Summer.Towels were large and absorbent. Slippers and bathrobes, warm and soft. Water restrictions mean that our two units had trouble flushing toilets due to limited water in the cisterns.Breakfast selection was just right. Two cold options (smoothie and parfait) and about 6 hot options. They made a plan for the vegans in the group, and had a gluten-free option too, as well as having almond milk.Graaff-Reinet is full of history and worth exploring, and a perfect base for visiting Camdeboo National Park & The Valley of Desolation.
Clean comfortable and well presented breakfast great
Beautiful old historic building in the heart of Graaf Reinet being run as an hotel. Have not stayed here recently but on a brunch visit found the food to be good and the service friendly and welcoming. Mistakes were quickly rectified with good attitude and apologies. Well worth the visit.
Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel, where we stayed the day after our wedding in 1985...so a nostalgic return.Exceptional surroundings, beautifully kept and pleasant staff create the right ambience immediately. Our room was clean and well appointed, with the air conditioning being a little challenging to work effectively.Dinner was a fine effort, with a slightly limited menu, but we enjoyed it very much. The wine list might have offered a few more wines that were under R400 a bottle perhaps. Considering the problems posed by the Covid restrictions, I think the management and staff are doing a great job. I would highly recommend staying there if driving through the Karoo. (We stayed on 23rd March 21)
Spectacular !!!What a gem - grand old hotel- an absolute must visitGreat value too.
Beautifully renovated. Attentive staff and superb food. A must for your bucket list 🤗
Excellent room, restaurant, service, people in a lovely town.
We had a wonderful stay at the Drostdy Hotel. The location is perfect in the centre of town. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful. The rooms and bathrooms are very large and comfortable. They even went the extra mile to make my dog feel comfortable and at home with a bed, food and Le Creuset food and water bowls! The food at the restaurant hotel was lovely and the staff were friendly and attentive. They have a fantastic wine maturation room (see pics) with some very special wines and champagnes. We will definitely stay here on our next trip through the Graaff Reinet area
Excellent friendly service, food was terrific. Wholesome place
An absolute modern, well run hotel in a beautiful heritage setting. You can expect modern amenities with a relaxed but old school charm!
We had the honor of staying for one night. So beautiful, clean and the service are the best!Breakfast was such an experience! We will be back.
This is a beautiful hotel with oodles of charm and history. I enjoyed my overnight stay, although both dinner and breakfast could have been better, especially for the price.
Beautifull place. Rich in history. Lovely service.
Great place, fantastic historical hotel. Very good service.
Loved this place. Such a gem of a getaway. timeless and beautiful
Beautiful place great food
Beautiful hotel with a relaxing atmosphere . Good food , friendly service and a great place to over night. Rooms are however in need of maintenance and need to be checked by supervisor before guests occupy eg old leftovers in fridge , torn duffetcover , loose taps etc.
Great experience and marvelous accommodation and dinner! Highly recommended
Wow what an amazing experience! Staff is so professional and friendly. We were spoilt from start to finish! Highly recommended.
Wonderful hotel with old world feel. Clean and organized. Staff friendly. Highly recommend.
Nice secure Hotel , the rooms are nice but right on top of each otherThere restraunt prices are exorbitant and we wanted to leave early the next morning so asked for a packed breakfast , we got a Croissant, a rock hard pear and a juiceCertainly not what you would expect from a Hotel of this CailbreThey also allow dogs our neighbour a few doors away had these dogs barking , everytime someone walked past
Resturant fantastic food good service ! Excellent!
What a gem! Highly recomended! Amazing atmosphere! Beautifully decorated and functional rooms! Staff friendly! Food great! Africology Spa treatments a must! Thank you NewMark Hotels for this unforgettable spoil...next stop Mount Camdeboo!
Excellent getaway in the karoo. Modern amenities with a vintage feel.
My wife and I only had breakfast at the Camdebo restaurant. It was devine. Every thing was top-notch. The only problem that I found was that I could not find the restaurant. As we had never been there I made use of the GPS to find it. Drove around the block but there was no restaurant or any signs to indicate where it was. I phoned and the lady that helped me gave me the address. Same as GPS. I phoned three times but still could not find it. Then by chance I found out that the restaurant was part of the Drosday Hotel. Not stated on the GPS. As I was not from the area I was about to go some place else. I told the staff about the problem and I was assured that it would be resolved. The restaurant has a pet friendly outside area you can eat. THX for great food.
We did the wine tasting with Anra. She was so friendly and knowledgeable about the wine and local area. We had a fantastic marathon wine tasting afternoon.
What an awesome weekend for our 38th wedding anniversary at this jewel of the Karoo. Everything about our stay; the suite, meals, Spa treatment and hospitality of hotel staff was amazing
Lovely location and history 😁 needs to improve the kitchen 🙃
Thank you. What a peaceful stay. Friendly, helpful service from every corner. Great food and the rooms & linen clean and well chosen interior decor through out!
Aesthetically Drostdy Hotel and Restaurant are magnificent, the interior styling is elegant and appropriate towards the well preserved and in part renovated piece of architecture, it is worthwhile the visiting, a true eye pleaser! However, the low rating is due a dreadful dinning experience. The restaurant did not serve any of their dishes as discribed on their menu. The slow braised lambs belly, potato croquettes with mint & pea puree. Was served as dry lamb chops (based in BBQ sauce to make it swollable) with instant mash potato and some garnish (three leaves of rocket and two strips of carrot)... The desert was neither festive nor tasteful... The best part of the dinner was the Fiveroses rooibos tea which assisted in washing down this meal. Hence, the architecture and decor are a beautiful set of smoke and mirrors disguising the glorified Spur a-like restaurant with porer service for more than what it is...
Absolutely beautiful hotel. Our waitress was passionate about her job. Always a treat to go to the drostdy for lunch.
This is such a gem in the middle of the Karoo. The room was spacious and spotless. Bed was huge and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Definitely coming back!
Just the cold water in the shower was not nice.
Never knew how great this hotel was. But wow beautiful with excellent foodYou must stay here if you can
Had a wonderful Spa treatment!!
Best cocktails in town, my Mojito destination! Delicious food at the restaurant ;)As a local we love having a treat On the beautiful lawns/patio. Our Anniversary stay was great although staff need a lot of training regarding noisy disturbance to guests and wet used towels left at pool all day! Rooms impeccable and luxurious!
Very nice place
Fantastic five star treatment. Rooms are super comfy and decor really fitting the whole Karoo feel. A great experience all round.
Wonderful experience, delicious food at the Cambedoo restaurant.
Very rude staff. Bugs in bathroom. Shower doesnt work. Hospitality is non-existant. Definitely not worth its stars
What a stunning venue
Great halfway stop for breakfast from plett to JHB
We ate lunch there. Food was excellent. Service too.
Excellent service, excellent food! Beautuful place! Magnificent experience. Amy Seekoei was our waitress, her service was top-notch! Amy, reach for the stars, you can go places!
A lovely place to enjoy a bit of luxurious spoiling. The perfect start to our holiday. Every fine detail was attended to.

I actually visited a client here just for a few hours. In the little time i was there, from what I had seen and experienced. Staff are super helpful and friendly. The place is stunning and clean. Good security. This is a true hidden gem.

Disappointed with covid protocol at the spa.Hotel however was great
Class. Great food. Smart staff
Excellent service
Magnificently refurbished hotel from day gone by, unfortunately soured by the dour receptionist
Ooh- some lovely cocktails to enjoy outside. Food good and very helpful staff. Place has an old-worldly feel to it.I recommend it.
Insufficiently attentive staff with a head waiter thinking that his arrogant attitude was cute. The toughest lamb chops. Come on people. Up your game.
It has a high quality of service
Delicious breakfast and fabulous staff
