I love Alpha study centre it is the best

I was present at alpha study centre from 2019-2020.The school did not correspond with the CAP system but provided high education standards. I recently discovered that Alpha placed me into Gr 6 in 2019 when I was in Gr 9.They were not completely honest with us. I left the school last year and when filling in applications for Gr 11 for 2020.The school confirmed I had only completed up to Gr 9 I had been there for 1yr 1/2.Now in 2020 I am doing Gr 10.There was no reason to fail or keep me back I passed Gr 6;7;8 and 9 with good marks even though I am not a straight A student I work diligently to reach success.At the time they might of thought that they were saving me from the CAP system but if I had stayed in the CAP systemI would of been in Gr 11 now.I made a decision that resulted badly and paid in consequences.Question is what is their consequence?My worst fear is failure and they made that come true.They thrived on their own misconception at our cost.They had no right to re-invent me and keep my mom in the dark.

I was a student at Alpha Study Centre from 2015- 2018. I received excellent education, which prepared me greatly for university life, to the point where most of the first year courses seem quite simple in comparison to the level of education at Alpha Study Centre. Most of the staff are friendly and genuinely have a passion for education. That said there are some staff that are slightly less helpful but overall my experience was positive. I know personally how much hard work and dedication the staff put into the centre. To hear that some believe they were held back because the centre wished to profit off of them, is not only extremely inaccurate but blatantly disrespectful to the hours of hard work these teachers pour into their students.To give you all peace of mind, I was a hard worker all through my years there but I was not academically gifted, I achieved a final report of three Cs and two Bs. I later went to college where due to the preparation I received at Alpha I achieved 6 out of a possible 7 distinctions as well as 4 out of a possible 5 awards. I, then applied and was accepted into a British university overseas and was awarded a bursary for my marks and level of education.Alpha Study Centre prepares students to be independent and self driven people. This environment does not suit everyone, some children need hand holding and do not function without constant nagging and therefore fall behind. This is of no fault to Alpha Study centre. The Alpha curriculum is based and founded on the British Cambridge curriculum and thus does not hold a candle to the government or private education curriculums in South Africa. I find that those who have negative reviews of the Centre do not fully understand what it means to be in the Cambridge system.It means a much higher and gruelling level of education, therefore, some students coming out of the normal education systems in South Africa may have to be held back in order to properly prepare them. A grade six level of education in IEB/GDE or CAPS is without a doubt a lower standard than that of a Cambridge grade six. Some students and some parents simply refuse to accept that they need extra help and time to adjust to a new system and expect miracles from the staff and school which are simply not possible.

Alpha study centre has provided me with a first class education. It has allowed me to be accepted in to multiple universities within South Africa and internationally. There may be a misunderstanding in what alpha study centre offers. It offers a different approach to learning. This different approach also involves changing curriculums. The carriculam used is Cambridge. Cambridge works differently from your standard IEB system. Due to this Im sure some people people may be confused as to what grade their in. In actual fact there is no true conversion from Cambridge to IEB. If you accept to go to alpha study centre you accept to leave behind the IEB system and accept to have higher and better opportunities. I have seen that people who still stay in the IEB mindset post confused and untrue reviews and comments about the school. In my experience alpha study centre triumphed over many generic schools and I encourage anyone who struggles to work in school or wants a higher standard or education to seek out alpha study centre.
