I am seriously disappointed in the management team of this complex. The make parking areas, then when you park there you get chased away and told the parking is only for trucks, yet it is clearly demarcated for cars. There are also no signs up to say that this area is reserved for trucks....Yet the manager of the complex disregards their own rules by parking in the very same area.... Absolutely disgusting!

Its a massive shop with a great range of items to choose from .From groceries to clothes to household items everything is there.There is a big section of fruit and vegetables loaded with fresh and healthy selection of stuff.Staff fairly friendly

Yesterday I went to the Checkers at about 5pm. As I headed to the till to pay, I spotted the elderly and disabled till empty. Looked left... Right.. Left again and headed there. The woman was the happiest to tell me she wouldnt serve me. Now the issue is, why keep her there if she will do nothing but tell other patrons (when there are no disabled or elderly waiting) she just wont work! Embarrassed to fight over the disabled till, went to a regular till after Id paid and had my 3 packets, tried to use the trolley in front of me and the packer said she was going to use it and I should get another 1. What the!!! Needless to say I think checkers edenvale lost a customer in me. But I would like to advise management, if people dont want to work, dont force them. Im sure there are others desperate for work. Its so disheartening to get served by someone with a terrible attitude when youre spending your hard-earned cash at their establishment.

Stock was available for all advertised products and there were no long queues

Although the store is great, offers good value for money with friendly helpful staff it is an extreme health hazard. The number of people wearing masks on their chins and below their nozes is alarming. A second lock down is inevitable if this continues.

We just love going to this mall especially the cash converters. always something interesting

Cashiers constantly close off their tills when coming from the deli side so you end up getting to the money counter with most tills closed off. They should rotate the staff and have someone on the floor monitoring this as its annoying to get to a cashier that is open to have the cross bar pushed over saying they are closed !!!! Please address your internal politics.

Sick and tired of buying meat and veg that expires so quickly even after I freeze it when I get home. You need to check that your transport of the food is cold enough or your fridges because this is disgusting. Spending so much money for constant bad quality fresh products.

This Checkers has a good selection and many other shops around it including a butchery, Cashbuild, West Pack Express, Ocean Basket, Bem Bom, and many others.Pretty well organized, but they could still use help in that area.

Up until now its been very goodIts clean and the friendly staff assistance is good also, they have reasonable prices.Very beautiful , they have renovated the all complex, looking much better.Its safe there. They have security personal looking after the all thing.The parking is also securedEnjoy😆😆😆

Brilliant Checkers since renovations occurred at Meadowdale. They are conveniently close to the surrounding residential areas as well as the highway making it the perfect place to buy almost anything.The staff are friendly and helpful. The shop has a wide variety of products spoiling you with choices.

Management dont care. I informed Checkers group during their revamp of the inadequate safety measures, they just dont respond.

I was pleasantly surprised by the improvements. Last been here about 7 years ago. As per other reviewers the only downside is the staff attitude. Definitely not a Woolworths experience as pertains to friendliness of staff. However, I found everything i needed, it was clean, aisles wide enough and more than enough stock on the shelves. I will definitely be back. My disclaimer is I did not buy meat or fresh veg at all, so not sure about the quality of that

The prices do not match what is being displayed. I constantly have to double check and report the wrong prices to Management. This seems to be done deliberately as a staff member informed me that the same happened a few days ago to another customer and still the displayed prices were not changed. I have also reported to Management on 3 occasions that the Simple Truth ready meals are off and sour. Still, nothing changed as the 4th purchase was off again.

Its a Hyper which means all the retail departments are represented to varying degrees. Personally, I often purchase platters here for business functions - always consistent and fresh with good quality items, no surprises. Order online or at the deli counter 24 hours before collection. The store itself is bright and roomy. The toy section is large and well-stocked.

Almost exclusively shop here. Awesome specials and if you time it right its quick shopping too with very few busy tills. Really cant stress how good their specials are. 10/ 5 stars

The service level has definitely dropped in comparison to 3 -- 4 years ago. Also product availability and range has diminished as well as low stock in store. Aisle space truly a nightmare to traverse through trolley traffic and packers, their ladders and cartons. Management has to take a serious look at the structure/space in the ratio of customers. Great changes can be positively achieved.

Great place to do your grocery shopping. The Checkers-Hyper is always well stocked, and they have a great variety of products, from camping gear and tools to kitchenware and toys. Loads of parking and a huge array of other stores and restaurants to visit, all in one place.

Its a great place to do everyday shopping. The shop is quite big and well maintained. Ive never had an issue with staff service. My only complaint is that between all the tightly placed shelves there isnt much space to maneuver a trolley, especially during peak times.

This checkers has transformed tremendously!! From what it use to be to what it is now in the past 2 years. Offers full range of fruits and vegetables with fishery and toys section, separate baby section. Very Friendly and good management in place. Thumbs up to Ursula the manager I met. Almost all tills are always with staff so no waiting time unless you come month end or back Friday. Lol.

This hypermarket has all the products I need all in one place, and I dont have to ever go to another store for anything else. Vast variety of products, and wide aisles make it a convenient and easy shop. The hot made foods are delicious and well priced. Just a little hectic on payday weekends. Despite a vast parking area there still never seems to be enough.

Nice store but needs extended shopping hours on weekends. Especially Sunday. This store closes very early on weekends. Most stores like Pick n Pay and Shoprite close 19:00. For our luck its Sundays 17:00 and 18:00. Saturday

A very quiet and not to busy place to shop at. Their food is fantastic and great deals weekly. Perfect for month end shopping with the kids.

Pies are average, chips looked old. But the specials were actually quite good. Overall not a bad store, shelves are a bit close together for a hypermarket.

Great place to do your monthly shopping. Great variety of stuff and professional staff. However this place requires more cleaning, some areas are filthy.

I have always loved Checkers, esp this one. From a little kid my grandparents used to shop there , my parents and now me. I love it. I know where everything is all iles are well marked. Sometimes they could keep the tills open. I have found many times they have closed tills when customers need to cash up.If I am at the butcher and ask him to rewrap some meet he gladly does it.Specials are really great.If something is wrong (like problems with my stuff I bought, if I go the management are really helpful and give no trouble. Parking is a bit hectic at the end of the month though. All in all I can say a great store, more than any other places.

Nice store lots of selection but their isles too small. Not even 2 trolleys can fit at once. Besides this small flaw a lovely stocked store.

Got loads of stuff I needed for back to school. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Prices were really good too

Very big shop with huge selection. I just feel it needs a revamp. The rest of the shopping center has been upgraded but the actual checkers feels very old. Not my first choice for bulk shopping.

Department store stocking most of what anybody needs. Month ends parking is a problem. Special offers can receive your extra attention. Otherwise prices are about market related. Other stores and restaurants are also at hand in the same centre. Should be more worth your while for your monthly shopping,than your local supermarket.

Since renovations are completed its a pleasure shopping there. Everything is suspiciously set out. There produce section has improved drastically.

Family supermarket 1 stop shop where you get everything. Pharmacy, coffee shops, take aways, car wash while doing shopping and clothing shops not forgetting cash build where you get building material at a reasonable price. Just love the place.

I am always happy when I shop at Checkers Hyper. Because of my grey hair the staff are akways very helpful. But its not only to me, i sometimes find yhem humming a tune or whistling so they are clearly happy in their work and I get a feel good feeling

The store and the centre in which it is housed has recently been completely renovated, with the welcome addition of some new tenants and additional parking. Despite this, this store remains much quieter and better stocked than the frenetic, nearby Eastgate branch.

With the recent renovations, its looking very modern. The butchery section has a lot of variety. Usual associated house and home and the liquor shop all next door. Parking galore outside, all open though.

Clean with a wide variety of goods. Theres a pharmacy inside. A little bit pricey. The parking gets hectic on the weekend. Large car guard presence. I normally shop at meat world and apple tree and what I cant buy there I get from checkers.

Terrible place to shop. I went in for a measly loaf of bread and while I was there staff were dropping food on floors and putting those SAME food items back into the trolleys for customer consumption. But wait, MORE happened: When proceeding to pay for the loaf bread, the cashier was so preoccupied (no greet even!) with checking out a hottie some distance away that she short - changed me. Pathetic. Rubbish service and standards. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
