When approaching the till, the cashiers has the most blunt irritating look making it uncomfortable for you to ask for something els. A simple polite smile does not cost much, specifically Checkers York Street.

Good selection of what you would expect in a chain store like this. Clean and well organized. Prefer going here than to the Gardenroute mall as its much less crowded.

Bought 350ml freshly squeezed orange juice this evening and when I opened it in the car, it had a gas built up (juice gone bad) and messed over me and inside car. I returned it and got another bottle of orange juice and also gone bad.

This is quite a large Checkers with a wide range of goods. Apart from the usual groceries they also have a large camping and outdoor section. It also sports sections for stationery, kitchen ware, toys etc. Since it is in a small shopping centre there is also a Checkers liquor store, cheese shop, gym, crazy store, wimpy, clicks and campworld in the same complex. Outside in large parking area is a carwash, KFC and Pizzahut. Garage and butcher across the road.

Well stocked and excellent management. Fresh produce and cooked items are fantastic. Lots of parking. Open till 8pm.

Checkers York street was very beautiful ,clean and not over populated

The people that serves at Checkers are impatient and dont have people skills and there food are not so delicious as pick and pay pre-cap

Okay store,,only went there once as its a bit far from where I stay but the shopping experience was pleasant.

Great customer service..and More than enough parking

When I think groceries, I firstly consider Checkers York Street. Their prices suit my budget very well. And their take away foods are always fresh and delicious.

Bought 6 mini samoosa at food counter. When got home and served them..it was just pastry..no filling at all..little triangles of pastry. Not sure what happened have had these before and they were delicious first time round..spicy and full of filling.

I do my grocery and bought most of my kitchen utensils here. Try them you might love variety of utensils from kitchen, gardening, braai and more on offer.

Plenty of parking space for the disabled and able bodies drivers. Checkers is easily accessible from the street and it is situated in a centre where there are various other stores, and restaurants such as KFC, Wimpy, Pizza Hut, etc.The place also has Clicks, Vodacom and Liquor ShopThe centre also has dedicated security guards.

Always good to visit, once in a while!!

Great store, our go to grocery store. Just give the milk tart a skip! Not sure if it was a pancake with a base or a milk tart. What a letdown infront of the guests.

They did not have stock of things that we needed but the one of the managers were very helpful and phoned their Checkers Hypermarket to find out if they have stock

Lack of tellers at crucial busy times, lack of help at the bakery and food court, always a struggle.

You can get quick in the store but can not get quick out. Service can improve

As with every other Checkers, I still dont understand why bollard queuing systems are not implemented, especially when you have queues and only a few cashiers open. You line up at a tillpoint only to waste time because the person at the price point has a problem. Had a bollard queuing system had been in place, you would automatically move on to the next available cashier.

It could look and feel a bit less dingy but that is typically how checkers places feel. It passes because to the people that go there it is a place of convenience not necessity.

I always stop there for their double espresso...this time machine was out of order but then why not put up a board informing the clients.

Bad service, extremely long wait at hot food counter with being the ONLY customer at that counter, wrong pricing on label compared to scanned price. Raised complain with no response.

Im shopping here more and more as I find their prices competitive and a wide range of products. Their take home meals are great, esp the vegetarian options.
