The atmosphere, the decor, the outlay of the restaurant, the presentation of our food, the food itself, all is truly exceptional. The pizza was the best that we have had by far. Really fun eatery and bar which is very unsuspecting from the front. With three separate eating areas it gives a lot of different options: the ground floor, back patio and upstairs tented area.Great choices of thick milkshakes topped with marshmallows to fresh craft beers on tap it’ll quench your thirst whatever you’re in the mood for. They have a nice selection of pizzas and I can recommend the pepperoni which includes fresh tomatoes as a nice twist. The fried snacks including nicely thick battered corn dogs and jalapeño poppers were great. Also have a good classic chicken nuggets and schnitzel. All delicious options!

Honestly unsure how this restaurant is so highly rated. I’ve been here twice before and have been disappointed both times with the food and service. Tried to give it another chance but unfortunately to no avail. Definitely do not recommend.

Absolutely loved this place. The decor, ambience, hospitality and food was all on point. I basically camped there for a couple of hours working in the middle of a trip.

This is what they call a happy coincidence. Was looking for someplace to eat and this was the second place to come up on Google Maps. They have a steampunk vibe going. And the menu is like a little news paper. Food portions are decent and overall reasonably priced. Bonus, sat the whole afternoon chatting with a local. They also have a cocktail bar on top and and the smokers have the best beer garden at the back.

The vibe, the layout and the seating options are well thought through, not feeling cramped like other restaurants. Now the food... holy smokes! 10/10. And I am a big guy, I could just finnish the large serving. Very tasty, well presented.

I enjoy breakfast every Wednesday morning, with my friend, at The Bench. The breakfast quality is tasty & consistent. The staff are professional and courteous. A good experience every week. Keep up the good work. Well Done

A reasonably priced restaurant, with a family friendly front (ice cream bar included) and a bar smoking area upstairs. Excellent selections on cocktails and basket/snacks foods. The pizzas are great, specifically the rib pizza, clean bathrooms and friendly staff. Can get packed quickly so reserve if you are planning on larger groups.

We came for a quick lunch that turned into a very long lunch. We waited for our beverages and then we waited for our food. So long, that I had to see a manager to find out where our food were. Almost none existant service from the waiter. The Chicken Snitchel was amazing but the Nachos not so great.

Good service, craft beer and good food. Love the Bench Nachos with chicken. Deep fried haloumi cheese with caramelized onions - divine!

Ribs were the best and Basket...Waiter/Bar lady kept glasses full and table clean.We laughed and enjoyed the meal so much.Full plate,even had doggy bag for home to nipple as a midnight snack

One of my favourite places to go in George! Dorette is absolutely wonderful, she is the definition of what an excellent waitress should be! Try the burgers, crumbed mushrooms and pizzas! And the Jalapeno poppers are the best Ive ever had.

The Bench is a great place to pop in for a quick burger and beer. They have a selection of cold and fresh beers on tap. I had the blue cheese burger. The burger itself was very tasty, but the blue cheese sauce was very disappointing. It was bland and tasted more like flour than blue cheese. The rest of the family had hake & chips which they loved. The hake portions were small, but I have noticed the same at a few restaurants in George lately. The service was friendly and good.

I have never had a bad experience at The Bench. The staff are amazing, their craft beers are at great prices, their food is very good(although the one waiter told me the burger I ordered would be hot Nd it wasnt hot enough), the atmosphere speaks volumes(even on quiet nights) and I tend to feel like family just because.Hats off to Jess and Kanya. Theyre the reason Im happy to go back ANY TIME!!!

Good food overall. Only thing I disliked was how oily the fish was when ordering the fish and chips. I thought it was a fluke the first time but second time around it was just as oily.

Good vibe with good food and friendly service. Live music on Friday with some beer and cocktails on special. We ordered a pizza and burger. Both were delicious. The onion rings are top notch!

Welcoming staff and an all round warming atmoshphere. Piza is full-flavoured and perfeclty prepared. Modest pricing and a good selection on their menu. High quality coffee.

Slow service, we were left to sit and wait for over 20 minutes even after an order was placed we had to call a different waitress who retook our order. She at least did deliver speedily therefore 2 stars and not one. This delay in our drinks order cost you a lunch order as we did not have time left to order food not as if the place was overly busy. Such a pity as this restaurant has so much potential.
