I LOVE this hospital........but NOBODY is answering at the switchboard today!!!!!!
My wife was brought in with the ambulance and sat for hours waiting to see a doctor. When I came to give her something to eat the nursing staff were having a great time laughing and frolocking around.Absolutely unprofessional. While you wait and die they have a great time.
The best hosp in south africa. If i could give more stars i would. This hosp is so clean and neat, and the food is so nice. The dr is the best. I am so happy that i found this hosp. Thanks for everything. May God bless all of you.
Unorganized, unhelpfull, no intelec thought process, no knowledge of how queing/processs work. Rather waist time and no wonder things do not get done!!!!!Been waiting almost 3 hours just for Covid injection!! Absolutely pathetic!!
Staff were absolutely rude. My 92 yr old mom sat in a wheelchair wsiting to be seen by Dr from 11a. m to 5 p.m. Nursing staff were rude and uninformative. Gave me container with 7 tablets and empty cup and said she had to take these. No explanation just pure rudeness.
Best and professional service I have experienced in a very long time, from where I checked in up to the ward, most friendly staff, a big thank you to Dr van der Westhuizen when I nearly passed out in out patients and treated me with so much sympathy and empathy, to all the staff in Ward B2, thank you so much, keep the good work up, Dr Steinberg, a Sunday was not to much for you to consult me, how can I show my appreciation for the love and caring in this dufficult time, thank you, kind regards, Corrie Rossouw
Service was great , did not have to wait forever to be seen too
Good service. My child was on bad situation but they helped her until she get well
An excellent service offered by this hospital. The staff is patient and treat you with utmost respect. God protect them during these difficult times
This is one of the better provincial hospitals in our country. The non urgent patients do wait to receive treatment but the urgent ones get good and fast treatment. The wards are clean and the staff is generally friendly. There are very good doctors working here especially in the emergency department.
We have been seeing the doctors there for a few months now with my sons severe eczema. And I can honestly say, after 7 years we have found the solution!! The best doctors and nurses. The hospital is always clean and tidy!
I was so impressed with the friendly service and efficient kind assistance at the emergency unit. It took me less than 30 minutes to admit a patient who broke her ankle. I’m in awe, never imagined a Government institution could be so efficient. I was astounded how clean the hospital was and how organised everything was. 10 stars for all staff. George is the best place in SA by far.
Thank you so much Ward B1 for your wonderful friendly nurses and care. Spotlessly clean. Wonderful attentive care. Thank you once again for looking after my husband and making his stay as comfortable as possible.
Well organized, clean and has friendly and kind staff, best public hospital on SA by far
Firstly I want to say that My experience at the hospital was really exceptional. The nurses was very professional and they all treated us all with respect, and we had a lot of laughs. A big thank you to all the staff and doctors of block 3b. Especially Dr. Firmin and his wonderfull team. You all ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!
Wors hospital i have ever been to. Much tooo slow. Bad service. Rather when back home with a broken arm.
Great facility that is both clean and well maintained, with excellent and caring staff! On par, if not better, with many private hospitals!
I was admitted to George Provincial Hospital in June 2018 with a broken wrist (colles fracture). There wasnt any space in the orthopedic ward, so I was accommodated in the family medicine ward. I stayed for eight days. The treatment that I received from the orthopedic specialists, nursing staff and sisters in charge of the ward was absolutely fantastic! Even the food was great. A metal plate and screws were inserted into my wrist. I was warned that the mobility of my wrist would be limited after the operation, but it is only very mildly so. This is a huge thank you to the orthopedic surgeons (Dr Kappart in particular) and the staff in the family medicine ward...you were all amazing!
I have never been here, but my 13 year old son was taken here after fallen ill while on a camp nearby. It was really hard on me not to rush to his side, being in Joburg and tied up with other responsibilities, but I was assured by the camp organizers who took him there that this was a first class hospital and that he was in good hands. During the three days he spent there my phone calls to his ward were always answered quickly, the nursing staff always helpful and friendly (even at 5 in the morning!). Thanks again to all the super stars at George Hospital, for taking such good care of my child.
As good as public health gets
Good doctors and excellent service.
I raced to the hospital with a blood glucose level higher than 33.3. I cant say how high, my meter only reads to 33.3 and it flashes higher than that. I arrived just before 21h00, at the trauma unit. The receptionist opened my file and within 15 minutes I had a drip on and had been injected with fast working insulin. Ex-rays were taken of my chest. Within 25 minutes of arrival the problem was found and treatment started. 4 hour after arrival my blood glucose levels had dropped and I was sent home with medication and instructions. I am truly happy and I will never again be negative about our local State Hospital.Thank George Hospital, you were great.
Well run public hospital.
Awesome service thank you ward B4 for everything,i couldnt ask for better service
Great service and neat
Very good hospital
Horrible service unfriendly staff and very slow.
I find it traumatising and nightmarish to visit this institution, frustratingly delaying service time, but again considering the challenges the public services faces everyday..one has to understand.
