Very comfortable bed and a nicely decorated house with many antiques. We enjoyed the perculated coffee made for us each morning. Conveniently situated opposite a restaurant. The communal kitchen was well equipped and clean. Just a pity we could not leave our car and trailer on the premises before check in time. We went sight seeing on motorbikes.

Sue is a friendly and welcoming host. Rooms are beautiful and comfortable and super clean. Environment is peaceful.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, the owner and his wife is friendly and didnt disturb us. We were allowed to use the house and the appliances which was a plus. The area is safe and the parking is secluded. I would definitely recommend this place.

Stunning place... with friendly people

I was driving across SA, this place is an okay place to stop if you are driving and need to rest your head. But if you plan ahead you will get a better spot to stay. Also, its near the airport, and only a short 3 minute drive into George, if that matters for anyone.

Beautiful place with lovely outdoor area. Kitchen and rooms are great and the hosts are even better! So lovely and accommodating!I love the older style, the photos online dont do it justice!Also 3 furry friends to keep you company 😉

I have stayed in numerous self catering establishments in many South African cities, George a few times, Cape Town, P E, Durban, plus Namibia, Mozambique and outside Africa, even Scotland. This one beats them all by a country mile. The rooms are clean, spacious and well maintained. The property itself is a lovely old building tastefully decorated and with a garden most of us can only dream of. The communal areas such as kitchen, patio are just what you need after a long trip on the road or as a place to unwind after a day of business,sightseeing, whatever. From the moment you walk through the door you feel welcome and as if you were at home. Location is excellent, with a decent bar/pizza restaurant right across the road, supermarket a few minutes drive away. Getting to the city is a couple of turns on the road and a couple of roundabouts, 5 minutes or so. I note with dismay that there are a couple of very poor ratings on Google for this establishment. This totally baffles me. These reviews cannot possibly be in reference to Outeniqua Travel Lodge. People smoke funny things these days and get confused! The only reservation I have with writing this review is that the next time I need to stay over in George I will need to look for somewhere else. For the rest of you, dont hesitate. You will not be disappointed

Outeniqua Travel Lodge is conveniently situated close to the airport and within 5km from restaurants and supermarkets. It is neat, clean and comfortable, with ample communial lounges and a small centre court garden. A communial kitchen offers all necessary amenities for self catering.Sufficient Wifi and private bathroom facilities.We found the Pizza Café right accross the road a convenient solution for dinner without having to drive.All-round satisfactory accommodation.

Good nights sleep. Coffee was great. Not situated in a safe area.

We visited from Germany as a group of 4. Had a great stay. Very clean victorian style rooms, friendly hosts and 2 amazing pets to cuddle by the fire:) its been a year now and since we still often talk about the good time we had, we decided to share that. Thanks a lot!

Great shared kitchen with ovens, fridges, etc. Breakfast is magnificent. Rooms are rather old; for someone who loves ancient feelings. Okay for its price.

Very nice accommodation. Have a 2-bed room at an unbeatable low price. Generally good location, wonderful garden, working free wifi, nice staff, clean kitchen and bathrooms. Definitely worth a visit if you want to stay in the area.
