We spent one night in the luxurious villa and we loved the space in the room and the underfloor heating as well as the wonderful view over the La Rochelle mountains. We also loved the peaceful surroundings. There were building works om the go which broke the peaceful silence, but even with that I can give a 5 star rating. Also, a great investment opportunity - vivit the website for more.

Had our wedding here and it was the most special and incredible day. Gavin and his team saw to every need and made sure that everything was taken care of. The rooms were top class and the food even more so! They really went above and beyond all of our expectations and were so accommodating and flexible. their service was impeccable. Would definitely recommend them to any couple for an intimate and special venue to host their special day.

Absolutely fabulous! We stayed in a 2 bedroom Villa, each room with its own luxurious bathroom! And the view is breath taking. We attended a wedding - every detail attended to, food delicious and staff friendly and attentive! Spoil yourself - its so worth it!!

This cosy, comfortable hotel was very comfortable and accommodating. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. The amazing view from the first floor balcony was mesmerizing. Their breakfast options may be limited, but were really delicious. Definitely recommend this place for a bit of rest and relaxation.

From the arrival date 17 Sept 2021, staff members are friendly, professional, always willing to assist until our last day it was phenomenal, I would like to appreciate these amazing champions Esme who assisted me with my booking from beginning to end suggested places to visit, Gavin what a gentlemen - he arranged transport for us , activities, ensure that we were always well taken care of , Nkosi what a lady shes at your service 24/7 restaurants booking and suggestions our villa never ran out of anything, Whisper was a gentlemen that took our bags, he helped us with anything we need. Shuttle service Johan and Andrew were phenomenal i would recommend them at any point in time vehicle super clean, music at good volume and friendly too. Cleaning team our Villa was always kept clean and spotless. Restaurant team Amazing professional and friendly service is five star - I may suggest that for future breakfast menu to be given more options to chose from rather than limited menu but I cant fault the food fresh

This is a beautiful hotel, we got what we needed. The views and landscape of this place is well maintained. I was however disappointed as the cleanliness of the hotel wasnt up to standard as the shower floors were mouldy and greasy, I did tell the hotel manager and she took the feedback very well. The breakfast was that great either as it was extremely oily. I personally wont recommend and will not be returning. The standards have dropped.

Nice quiet and serene, beautiful place with good service... This is covid time so not sure if the restaurant is just for breakfast all the time or just for this occasion, breakfast is very good and filling though.

The rooms here are spacious. Modern rooms with great finishes. The estate is easily accessible, safe and tranquil.Service is of an acceptable standard. The location of the estate is great considering attractions in the vicinity. The villa we stayed in had beautiful views of the mountain range and part of the Franschoek Valley.

We stayed in a lake facing room for 2 nights. It was our anniversary and boy what a way to spend it. The lake views and terrace made the stay even that much more romantic. Massive room and super large bathroom with oversized bath and shower. Lets not forget the most friendly Allison who just wants her guests to be happy. Ps: the breakfast is divine.

What a great spot settled in the Franschhoek Valley. Breathtaking views of the mountains and wild like. I would encourage their honey moon suit. Best views from this suite and overlooks their little dam.

What a delightful stay we had at L’Ermitage Franschhoek Chateau. It did indeed have a real french feel to it together with the gardens, ducks in the lake, water features, etc. There is also opened and covered parking. The establishment felt safe and very comfortable. It is very close to the Franschhoek Museum, Kurmanov Perfumery, restaurants, shops, Wine Tram etc.The room exceeded our expectations with comfy bed, little kitchen, and a spacious bathroom. Plenty of cupboard space and a safe too. The room was equipped with different lighting panels throughout making it easy to switch on chandeliers, ambient lighting etc. Room had tv and enough channels to keep one occupied if one needed to be watching tv.We stayed during the pandemic so lockdown protocols were observed. The front desk check in was efficient and the staff were friendly. The breakfast options were therefore limited but were to our liking.The views were fantastic and the setting provided so many Instagram worthy opportunities.The only glitch was the wifi in our room didn’t really work.

This is a stunning holiday rental to book for your holiday when visiting the Franschhoek area in the Western Cape. The unit was spotless clean and everything worked as it should.We had good parking and felt save during our stay. All the staff were helpful and friendly and it was such a pleasure to deal with competent staff.The breakfast that we enjoyed whilst sitting at dam were tasty more than enough.I would recommend this establishment to everybody visiting Franschhoek

Our King Luxury Suite (known as the Chardonnay Suite) has its own private balcony that overlooks a beautiful lake overshadowed by the majestic mountain range that offered beautiful sunset views of Franschhoek.The self-catering unit facilities in the suite ensured the freedom of a relaxing, uninterrupted afternoon, and it was the perfect way to start our weekend in Franschhoek.I loved that our room was super spacious, with its own flat-screen TV, dressing room and a huge bathroom that had a stunning bath with a view.The only thing I would have loved in our room was a Nespresso machine or better coffee options and the breakfast was pretty dull.

In an area like Franschoek with so many extraordinary options this perfectly good establishment could be considered good but not outstanding. Easy access to town.

A great escape from the crowded main road of Franschhoek. Self catering accommodation in a secure area within a short walk to the main road and all Franschhoek has to offer. Worth the visit. I will be back mid year for a quick break away. Less than a hour out of Cape Town, it is well worth the visit and Franschhoek is always a surprise.

Our stay at lErmitage was wonderful. The manager - a beautiful, distinguished lady - was very warm and attentive to our needs. We took our breakfast to a beautiful view of the mountain range and the greenery bordering the villa, and we were often visited at our table by the humorous new chef who hails from Greece. Our room was splendid! We highly recommend it.

Thoroughly enjoyable stay in the main building rather than a separate villa (glad we chose this for ease). Spacious, attractive and comfortable room with views up to the hills. The staff were all very friendly, and breakfast buffet and poached eggs on request were delicious. Would be a fair walk to town on a hot day but this wouldnt put me off staying again. Suggest visiting La Petite Ferme just up the road for lunch too.

Beautiful place. It feels like a little city on its own!They are also very accommodating. We have a 3 year old child and we asked them if they could arrange for a cot to be put into our room. They did not have one, but went to buy a brand new one just for us!We also do not drink alcohol, so upon arrival we asked that the bottle of champagne is removed. The owner drove to town just to get us a bottle of grape juice instead.Really amazing!

I would love to rate the hotel itself and the food you get here separately. Here is why:The hotel, the decorations, the rooms are an absolute eyecatcher. Everything is clean, the hotel room is more an own apartment than a room. The pool is build like a fountain which is a nice idea and find nicely into the whole theme.The view from the Balcony is amazing, when the sun goes down you can just stare and watch multiple birds.The dinner we took at the night we arrived was, all in all really horrible. The lamp and the beef steak were great, really tender and tasty. But the amount of food you get would really be enough for two.I shared the fish plate (recommend for two people) but it was far away from tasty: everything was fried, you can see the fat dripping of of the fried fish. We wouldnt be able to finish the plate but not only because the plate wasnt tasty, it was just too much as well. This plate was really enough for 3 or 4 people.When you want to order a starter, think twice about ordering something else afterwards because the starter could be a main course as well due to the amount of food you get.The breakfast was eatable but not a reparation due to the awful dinner we had the night before.If you plan to eat there, think twice about ordering anything you arent sure about. Order a taxi and go to the restaurant in town.I give the hotel itself 5 stars, the restaurant would receive 1 star. I still give 4 stars because we could have eaten somewhere else.

Well appointed suite but the bed was very short ( a tall person would have a huge problem) the hairdryer only provided cool air , hopeless to dry long hair. The staff were clueless. They couldn’t provide maps of the area & wineries, & the restaurant was closed & despite paying for breakfast they forgot our breakfast pack for an early morning departure. They then wanted to charge us a extra 1400rand on departure but couldn’t say why!! Suggest stay somewhere else if you want reasonable service. Very disappointing.😞

Absolutely stunning place! Very romantic setting and the place looks absolutely beautiful with views to spoil you for days. Some of the finishes in the apartment seemed to have been rushed or slightly damaged which required some attention from the maintenance staff, other than that it was very well done. Even the breakfast was delicious. I would definitely recommend you consider visiting here for your romantic getaway or just a relaxing trip to recharge your batteries.

Good family vacation home

Wonderful place to stay in quiet, peaceful and simply stunning with a fully functional workforce that goes out of their way to make your stay pleasurable. And the scenery around the place Is simply breathtaking.

Absolutely gorgeous setting. The views are amazing and the hotel is very luxurious. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Ordered room service one night but was disappointed in the quality of food. There are loads of really good restaurants in the town centre though. We ordered some wine while down on the lawns by the restaurant (but seemed to be out of stock of a few things). Villa is well equipped and has most things. I dropped a star for two reasons. 1) the villa wasnt stocked with the right amount of towels and we had to ask three times before someone brought some over. 2) they can only provide European adapters, not British. Reception staff told me it would be difficult to find one in town, but thats not true. Found one at an IT shop near the Pick n Pay. Its a lovely place to stay while in the area and would go stay here again.

Its beautiful and the rooms are lovely and warm. The short coming was that the room had no phone to call reception with and the bathroom mirror was missing. Other than that it was a beautiful room.

Beautiful estate

We really enjoyed our stay here. The rooms are luxurious and the bed is amazing. The bath is big enough for two 😉 The pool is quant, not great for proper swimming but lovely to cool off in. Loved the swathes of lavender bushes all over the estate, the scent wafts beautifully as you walk past. The breakfast is delicious and the aircon in the room helped a lot in the Franschhoek heat. Service was excellent.

What a beautiful setting. Such a peaceful and relaxed space. Sitting having breakfast overlooking the small lake with fish, watching the birds fly around and the mist lift from the mountain. It feels like worlds away from civilisation but with amazing restaurants and shops a short walk away.

Amazing, my only disappointment was the poor knowledge of vegan food despite our booking being made weeks in advance. Even with a prompt on what to include e.g legumes, the kitchen still disappointed.

Great location, stunning views, lovely spacious rooms, delicious breakfast - generally a great establishment. We got a last minute booking so rate was discounted making it very good value but even at full rate it would be worth it.

Beautiful pictures of property on website, however was quite small in comparison. Sought the venue after seeing their chapel on pictures, however, the entrance spills straight onto the road and entry into the property, so not much space. Requested a wedding quotation numerous times and have not recieved it, even after visiting the property and requesting it once more. Disappointing.

Wonderful chateau right at the foot hills of Franschhoek. Beautiful setting and friendly welcoming staff. It is a 15 minute walk in to town down the hill.Negatives would be the tap water is very, very brown and only 2 small bottles of drinking water provided on arrival and refused to add more when asked for other days. Instead I had to purchase a bottle from the restaurant. Also maintenance needs improving, doors not opening closing properly, towel hooks very loose on walls etc. Need to employ more maintenance staff going around rooms checking everything out to keep the beauty of this property.Overall a beautiful place that we definitely would visit again.
