I have an obsidien arrow that I bought at a market, which I wanted to be set so as to wear on a chain. Penchant Design immediately assisted me with a number of options at my request, all of which were very affordable and attractive. I ended up going with a silver chain and setting, and received the necklace back in the same week that I had handed it in. It is currently one of my favourite pieces of jewelry, and I have received many compliments. Since then, I have had a bent ring fixed, obtained good advice and a cloth with which to clean it, and more secure butterflies to keep earrings in place. They also fixed new pearls onto a pair of earrings I had bought to make them more aesthetically pleasing. Each time, I was met with the utmost helpfulness and friendly service from the highly professional owner, Jackie Hahn and her team. I cannot recommend Penchant Design highly enough!

I have always found the staff at Penchant Design to be friendly, accommodating and always willing to assist. I have been into the shop a few times whilst travelling on business, but never actually bought anything. Come lockdown and travel restrictions, is when I decide to purchase for an upcoming wedding anniversary. The necklace I wanted was not in stock, but I was told not to worry as they could make one up for me and courier it before my anniversary. I had the fantastic experience of dealing with Jackie, from Penchant, in designing earrings and in transferring the diamonds from my engagement ring into a more practical eternity ring. I dont tend to wear a lot of jewelery, so had been dithering for several years on various options. What drew me to Penchant Design was their wonderful daisy jewelery, and while I didnt end up going with that design, I am so happy with how they were able to transform my engagement ring into a piece of jewelery I wear every day. For many years we wanted to do something special for our daughters, to let them have that little something on them that reminds them that they are part of a loving family 24/7, specially as they are leaving the nest and starting their own lives after university. Three years ago, I came across Penchant Design in Franschhoek after a breakfast in this lovely town. The daisy design immediately helped us make up our minds for what we want to make for our daughters, and we have finally had the 3 rings made, which symbolises 3 daisies (mom and daughters), with a band (dad) that keeps it all together. We presented the rings to our daughters on Christmas day and they love it!!!! It is a permanent fixture on our hands. It has the exact effect I wanted it to have and it is gorgeous. Everyone notices our stunning rings and we are proud to announce where they were made and how happy we are with the support, design and ultimate delivery of the rings at short notice. We could not have asked for a better result. Our ideas were combined with the daisy design and the rings are 110% what we expected them to be. In June of 2016, while visiting South Africa with my partner Brenda we ventured into Penchant Design and saw many beautiful things. Brenda doesnt wear much jewellery but managed to spy a lovely Tanzanite ring in the case that took her fancy. The blue colour was amazing. Brenda, a Naturopath, was scheduled to take a private tour of the herb garden down the road and learn about the local flora and its medicinal properties and I had a crazy idea. OUTRAGEOUS!! Bought a neckless with diamonds and tanzanite for about $1.200 and then saw the exact same design in another store, for $800!! Plus, the one I purchased was 0.7ct, and this one was 0.99ct! I feel like the perfect stupid turist, how can someone call them honest? Thing is, it was my last day of the trip, otherwise I would have come and returned it. RIDICULOUS! Hope nodobody falls for that anymore.
