The perfect getaway in the Winelands.. the cottages are located on a ginormous piece of private land, on the borders of a river. Every little detail is perfect : the cleanliness of the cottage & property, the decoration, the friendly greeting from the owners,… you’re already calm & feel at home right from the start.The beds are like clouds. Slept like a brick and woke up by the sound of the chickens. They give you fresh eggs and baked bread at your arrival, awesome!The amenities are all very good : decent braai in the garden, well equipped kitchen, beautiful inside AND outside bathrooms! With fresh herbs hanging in the showers and bathtub to give a lovely scent.I loved it, never wanted to leave… can I stay?

My family (husband plus 2 kids aged, 7 and 3) We had an absolutely wonderful time at The Farmstead. I could just say that everything was perfect- but that would not do justice- so here goes:- The cottage is beautiful, it is tastefully decorated right to the tiniest detail, I appreciated this! I loved the detailed deco like the small flowers vases everywhere. We also loved the body products - my son particularly loved it and even wanted to take it home.- The service from Mr Blessing and the rest of the ladies were really good. They were helpful and pleasant all the time.- the location of the farm is superb, I felt like I was looking at a painted picture every time I looks outside!- the river deck is fantastic. So it tubing down the river!!All that being said- we loved our time spent at The farmstead. This was a perfect time out before we back to the hustle of 2021!We have made a promise to return every time we come to cpt!!

Our stay there was excellent just what we needed, peace and quiet, lovely view, just adoring nature . They really knows what he/she is doing in terms of décor and setting! Well done!The sounds of the birds while soaking in the outdoor tub at sunset with a glass of wine in hand. A recipe for relaxation!When you need take a break from your busy life, The Farmstead Franschhoek is the place!

Although the accommodation is located in a picturesque setting, there were a number of issues that we experienced during our stay. There were a number of water issues including burst pipes (effluent pipe included) which took a while to resolve, one of the cleaning ladies broke a vase which we witnessed (some pieces of which ended up in our bed, glass on the property which must have been used for something else prior, lack of security around the pool area and overall underwhelming communication from the owners. We will not consider the accommodation going forward.

Beautiful, clean, well layed out/design accommodation. Lovely surroundings as well.

Beautiful and well equipped cottage with the most stunning views on the mountains. Such a nice place to enjoy the peace and quiet. We got a warm welcome from Jules, she did everything to make our stay pleasant and comfortable. Dont forget to watch the sunset on the deck along the river!

We spent two nights at this beautiful place. The houses and the area are beautiful and everything is perfect. the lady who runs it was very welcoming and helping with our requests. in general theres nothing to complain.We had just on big problem. It came out that there were bed bugs in one of the rooms of the artichoke house. We got bitten badly. We told the lady who runs it. Until now we dont have a response about this.

What I expected

Wow! What an amazing place. Breathtaking, unspoiled views, lovely hosts and extremely tasteful interior design. Countryside at its best. This was South Africa just as I imagined it.

Heaven ! We came for a weekend to escape the city and we felt in paradise. great mountain bike trails around that Warren showed us and great hospitality by Jules.specially loved the decoration of the cottages, will be back!

Phantastic contemporary setup in a secluded location by a river. Eco-consious principles without lacking comfort. Farm layed eggs are delivered to your door upon request for a small fee, another highlight is the outdoor bathroom. We‘ll definitely come back soon!

Magic spot and magic place to stay. We loved every minute here. Great place for a big family or group of friends.

Gorgeous country setting surrounded by mountains and next to a river. Close enough to Franschhoek, Helshoogste pass and Stellenbosch to serve as a great base to experience the Winelands, but the cottage was so lovely we also enjoyed just relaxing, watching the birds and cattle and going for walks on the farm. We appreciated all the thought and effort that was put into making stylish spaces with natural materials and that really help guests to relax. The layout and design helped create a sense of privacy between the different units. Special touches like hot water bottles, great organic coffee, and servicing of the rooms made us feel extra cared for. The outdoor shower was an amazing experience even on a cold day! Also loved the natural, local body wash, lotion and shampoo.At the moment not all units have indoor fireplaces so if that is a big factor for you suggest you get in touch with the team by email to request a specific unit.
