Views, food, and service blend together in the divine blend. This spot gives you amazing views of the Franschhoek valley - even better to if you are here for sunset. The service is excellent. The waiters are friendly and knowledgeable- which is so important. And then the food…aah, so delicious. It’s Franschhoek fare…fine dining. Definitely a memorable spot.

AMAZING is the key word to describe this very special boutique hotel. Amazing views. Amazing rooms - we stayed in the bridal suite. Amazing staff, nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel very special. Amazing atmosphere, get a table by the wood burner with stunning views if you can. Amazing food, the young pastry chef needs a special mention - my wife is allergic to most grains and yet we had the most delicious breads and pastries. The personal breakfast table buffet tray was inventive and delicious. We truly LOVED our stay. Thanks so much to everyone.

Hidden gem! This place is absolutely stunning - offering the most beautiful view in Franschhoek. Staff is professional, friendly and welcoming. Our waiter was the best, he gave great recommendations and made sure to check up on us. For starters we had the Venison Tartare and Chicken Ravioli. For mains we had the Seared Line Fish and Pulled Lamb. For dessert we had the Orange Chocolate Hazelnut Torte and Malva Pudding. All dishes beautifully presented and full of flavour. My favourite was the Chicken Ravioli - wish it was offered as a Main dish as I couldnt get enough of it! We also enjoyed a bottle of the Baboon Rock Rosé with our meals. The Restaurant offers inside and outside seating, but be sure to sit outside if the weather permits, as the picturesque view is one that will have you feeling so relaxed that time will literally fly by. Will definitely recommend this restaurant!

My husband and I spent two days at la petite femme. We throughly enjoyed our time there. The staff were absolutely first class. Service first class! The breakfasts first class! the view the very best. The French nouvelle cuisine not quite our choice... but we enjoyed it nevertheless. I highly recommend this to be your number one choice in Franschoek!

I went for dinner. I have been very nicely welcomed and seated. The view on the nature and mountains are gorgeous. The waitress was very nice with us.I took an aged beef which has nothing to do with dried aged beef, probably my mistake. This meal is just a beef.We did not finished our started that we have been asked politely to change the table closer to the opened door to the garden which was in the fresh find. I found that un pleasant request from the staff to move us out for some reason. I decline and find that not nice because also outside there was nothing more to see as the night was dark. The price is way too expensive for what it is!I already went to better restaurant for less expensive price. Their wine selection is ultra limited and personally I don’t like their wine.We had also to wait an additional time because they make a mistake in the order of my partner. I can understand for normal restaurants, but this type of restaurant and at this price , sorry I cannot accept that.

We got a driver for a day and tried several restaurants in and around Cape Town. Before sunset we decided to have dinner at La petit Ferme which in retrospect was a splendid decision. Everybody had a three course menu. From appetizer to dessert the food was outstanding. I bought 6 bottles of a fantastic Shiraz but then again all of their wines were worth buying! The only hassle we experienced was in the beginning. We had a reservation for 10 people but they didn’t have a table big enough. The problem was solved and while we were waiting we explored the wonderful grounds of the winery. The view is serene, magical and one of a kind. Especially the sunset was something to look forward to.

The views are incredible but unfortunately the food is a disgrace to the place. Starting from the bread that seemed to be few days old..The food was portrayed beautifully but lacked taste or was actually very poor. We love food & wine, and have eaten in amazing restaurants in South Africa, this however was the low point to our stay.Enjoy the view & few cocktails, not worth anything else as there are so many other great restaurants nearby!

Elegant and beautiful setting. We had a superb entre, authentic high quality food. My fatal error was to choose the lamb; I counted more than 20 ingredients and my Italian simple culinary education did not allow me to appreciate the whole complexity of this preparation unfortunately. Wines we tasted were very good.

Views are gorgeous but the food definitely not up to standards. Although the food is presented nicely it lacks finesse and taste. I had haloumi cheese as a starter which was nog grilled at all and lacked any form of flavor. My girlfriend had goat cheese which was just a hump of cheese without any additional flavoring, the mains did not get any better. So unfortunate as the place is beautiful but they better get a decent up to scale chef soon.

The hotel is fabulous. Gorgeous views, luxurious rooms, 5-star service...we loved our stay! However, we were incredibly disappointed by the restaurant. The food was some of the worst we had on our entire trip; the dishes were quite frankly bad--either flavourless or too salty. Also the only wines they have by the glass are those from their own winery, which we wouldnt have had a problem with had the wines not been completely undrinkable. We had one sip of each and couldnt drink anymore, and the restaurant still charged us for them.

Having heard a lot about this restaurant I was disappointed by our dinner. Not bad but nothing special. None of the food was served warm enough and I had wildebeest which was covered in a very sticky and far too peppery sauce which distracted from the taste of the meat. Staff were nice and the service was good.

During our holiday to South Africa my brother decided to bring myself & husband to La Petite Ferme for lunch following a fantastic previous experience with his wife. The surrounding view of the valley, beautifully kept gardens & decor greeted us for what we had hoped would be an amazing dining experience! The menu was a little daunting as we were unsure as to the ingredients each dish consisted of but in the end settled for slow roasted lamb, in itself absolutely beautiful, but accompanying ingredients more of an artistic design than what my husband & brothers appetite required - 4 prunes, 4 of the tiniest amount of piped mash potato I have ever seen plus the tiniest amount of creamed vegetable. Having ordered 3 X lamb plus a fish dish for my sister-in-law (each main course R280+) our food arrived only to find our 3 lamb had been replaced with a game dish so instead of eating together as a family we waited while my sister-in-law had to eat alone. Because the policy was a minimum of two courses we chose to have dessert - again a beautiful work of art, but the tiniest amount of food, again tastes not to our liking, resulting in my husband refusing to even try what was placed in front of him!! Mine was equally unappealing so both were returned to the kitchen! Our waitress was so apologetic & the manageress came for feedback as to what had gone wrong? - and removed the 4 desserts from the bill which we appreciated. My brother was so stressed by the whole experience, especially as we had travelled from the Southern suburbs, approx. 2 hours drive!! I can only recommend this as a restaurant where food is an expensive art experience & not a place to come to fulfill an appetite.

This rating is based on the consistent high standards and quality my family and I have received at this restaurant from past visits over the past few years. It is based collectively of all my visits here. This review however, refers to my last visit where the standards we had previously received were not quite met.We came here for dinner a few days ago (December 2019) for part of my fathers birthday celebration. As usual the views were spectacular and the staff friendly. (I recommend sitting on the grass with a drink before you sit down for your meal.) When we sat down for our meal the waitress was lovely enough to let my father taste the wines before ordering. The waitress however did go back and forth a lot getting each of our drinks individually (not a complaint really, just something to improve on for the restaurant to note) The food was delicious, I had the Venison (cooked to perfection) however, it was promised to come with Dauphinoise , which if you know it, is a creamy layered potato side, often quite substantial. When we recieved the plate, although beautifully presented, it was nowhere to be seen. When we asked the waitress she insisted it was the small pieces of sweet potato. After asking the chef, it turns out the sweet potato was a replacement. This, as you can tell was disappointing for my family and I. I wouldve appreciated it if the waitresses and waiters had been previously informed by the chef to avoid the hassle. On this particular visit I feel the service was overall a bit lacking. They also brought my dad a little plate of desserts for his birthday, with a marshmallow, brownie and lemon Turkish delight. A lovely gesture. It wouldve been slightly more convenient if brought before we ordered dessert, because it was quite difficult to finish everything, but Im just nitpicking. Its important to note if youre a picky eater or have specific dietary requirements, that you check the menu beforehand because, although delicious, the selection of menu items is limited, and when we visited with my brother, who prefers not to eat red meat, he was left with the vegetarian option, which was still good, but he wouldve preferred a chicken dish.Overall though, a lovely place for a celebrarory meal (as is on the more expensive side) with lovely views, good wine selection and quality food.

Very sorry to say so, but equally sorry to have spent a fair sum of money, we were not impressed by the food. It was bland and simply ok at best (of course keeping in mind the price)... the view is of course stunning and the staff seemed fine, yet not incredibly sympathetic. But if the food doesn’t meet standards then those things don’t weigh on the experience. We had two other stunning meals in the valley and this simply didn’t compare in our opinion.

All of the old magic has well and truly gone. Was once a real gem offering an exceptional interactive experience/wine tasting, great value tasting menu and an amazing view. Now probably the worst winery experience in South Africa.
