Located in the Main Street of Franshoek lies this coffee paradise with an incredible menu. The coffee is some of the best in SA with varying brews and mixes to delight the senses. The menu is quite impressive with classic meals reinterpreted (mushroom eggs Benedict!!) to add new excitement to ordering. Service is great and professional and the atmosphere supports a work from here or catch up with friends. Don’t miss this stop when traveling through Franshoek

Expensive and not a great experience to be honest. Although the coffee was decent, the staff ignored us when we walked in and didnt speak to us at all whilst ordering and paying. I dont expect a thank you when leaving a tip but at least look at me when I say hello and good bye... Especially at the prices charged! Would not recommend if you wish to feel welcome in a space, they seem to know that they are the best in town and make you know it to with a very pretentious and dismissive attitude.

Enjoyed the place immensely though it was quite busy in a rainy morning. The shop is a little gem too. Was super excited to find cold brew with Marula, that tree being a super indigenous spieces of Africa

Beautiful location with ample stock of good coffee.Food beautifully presented and Zulu our waitress was very helpful.It is a place where I would love to come back to in summer because the doors to the garden beckons to be opened and the dogs let in and let time pass by with good friends..

Big Dog Café has a lovely scenic garden and is dog friendly. However, our waitress rushed us to order, then when I asked for 5 minutes to read the menu, only took my order after the rest of the table received their food. I was disappointed with my dirty Chai latte because is was too milky. The waffles, though delicious, are only served as a half a waffle (as pictured below - who gets the other half?). The fried chicken was very tasty although I nearly choked on something that I think was smoked chicken skin. Overall, I might be back but Ill be sure to have a coffee milkshake next time - I loved that its served with bio straws 😁

The food is out of this world.

The only reason I knew it was inside was because I recognized the font on the roadside boards. Living up to its grandeur, Terbodore is a quaint little coffee shop that supplies a wide variety of merchandise, and coffee enough for Cape Town and Joburg (according to the Coffee Roaster). Seating is out doors with a lovely view of the Franschoek scenery and the coffee is superb. When ordering you choose you bean preference and coffee style. The flat white Mac Espresso is a winner for me. Be sure to check out the meringue shop next door for some sweet treats. Not much in the way of foods, but great to pick up a supply of beans.

I spent half a day riding the Franschhoek Tram and between wine tastings and I found myself mostly expressing how Franschoek is the culinary center of South Africa and how my experience at Terbodore was, therefore, quite unfathomable. For a town blessed with great restaurants and coffee shops, how was this place quite so bad? Our drinks arrived precisely 55 mins before the breakfast (wasnt busy). Croissants with the consistency of a rusk, cold artisanal bacon which was a sad apparition for the real thing (can help the chef with this if needed). Waitress literally said nothing and walked away when I tapped the croissant on the plate after she asked how the food was. Chose the place because the tram ticket sales is located at the same establishment. Having now tried Terbodore Im genuinely surprised to see good reviews. Extra star for good coffee though. Have been coming to Franschhoek frequently since moving to South Africa... perhaps a bad experience but Id rather stop at an Engen garage next time.

The cappuccino I had was made perfectly. Their food options are quite unique so I will be coming back to try some of it. I can definitely recommend Terbodore when you’re visiting Franschhoek and would like to have the best coffee.

We absolutely loved our break at Terbodore Coffee Roasters! Although the kitchen was already closed we could enjoy delicious cakes, hot chocolate and iced coffee. When we wanted to buy some freshly roasted coffee we received super advice on which one to buy. The nature around is super relaxing, the dogs are calm, its a place we would always come back to :)

I drink terbodore coffee in my house daily! It is by far my favourite to buy. Little bit disappointed in the toasted bread today(way too hard to eat with eggs) but loved the flavors, the cafe and coffee a lot.

Friendly and efficient waiters. I also love the fact that the managers are so involved. Pleasant and peaceful feeling to the Big Dog Café and the coffee is wonderful. The coffee milkshake is great and so is the food. An all rounded success. The branch in the Midlands is also definitely worth a visit and there you can meet the big dog in the logo of the café.

Delicious coffee, great service. We bought the embroidered sweat shirts over a year ago and the are still perfect. Highly recommended.

Our most favourite place in franschhoek. The owners are lovely, the staff are great and the food is exceptional. This is more than a coffee shop, its an experience. The food is delicious and beautifully presented. Whether you are looking for breakfast, lunch or coffee and cake you will not regret ordering anything off the menu. The carrot cake, the ramen bowl, the lamb fatteh and the waffles but to name a few are amazing. And obviously the coffee is totally addictive, buy some to take home with you. Could eat here every day!

We showed up and ordered two coffees, explaining we were going to use their wifi, they made the coffee, we sat down, then the staff literally started closing down the coffee shop around us, clearing the chairs, offering to give us takeaway cups and it was pretty awkward. Staff seemed to not really have much ownership to the place and would not recommend.

A beautiful, warm and cosy coffee roastery situated in a beautiful setting! The aromas that smack you in the face as you walk through the door are enough to turn any tea lover (like myself) into the number one coffee fan. Delicious coffee, with a huge variety of choices of blends, beans and coffee gadgets to go along with it. It is a refreshing break from all the wine and food that you tend to indulge in while visiting Franschhoek. I would definitely reccommend stopping in at the Terbodore Coffee Roastery, and enjoy a specially prepared cup of home roasted coffee while enjoying an array of homemade treats to accompany it.
