Proper little “hole in the wall”… but it’s great. Coffee is pretty good, but the croissants are amazing!Always a nice vibe in the morning and if you really want to you can grab a takeaway and head across the road straight onto the beach. Great spot to stop after a run or cycle too.

Wow, Im very surprised at the reviews here. I ordered 2 pizzas, both of which were mostly inedible.... The base and ingredients seemed really cheap and Im not surprised at them having taken 5 minutes to prepare. Ive had much better pizza, and I hope my experience was a once off. It really was a not that cheap fast food experience.

LOVED IT.Was recently in Umhlanga and had a tonne of mates suggest Salt when I asked for restaurant recommendations. Lovely aesthetics inside the shop and a good selection of food and hot drinks, reasonably priced too.Whilst I was down I had the vegetarian pizza with extra artichokes and mushrooms - removed the cheese and it made a phenomenal vegan option (maybe ask for some extra marinara sauce and definitely add some chilli). Perfection.

Awesome Awesome Awesome. Croissants are made fresh every morning. You literally get them as soon as they come out of the oven. And dont get me started on the coffee frappes, they are delish. Definitely worth a visit when ever you are in salt rock.

Have not found croissants as good as these anywhere else in Durban. Their woodfire oven pizza is also unbeatable.

Overrated by customers, and overpriced. R25 for a bottle of still water. Food tasted fine and the location is perfect, but the service was not good. Staff forgot one of our orders, once it came it was warm on the outside and cold on the inside. Waiters didnt bring any cutlery to the table. Customers have to share a big 1litre bottle of vinegar when when asking for condiments. Good pizza menu, but was not available on the day we visited.Honestly, the only positives about Salt Café are their location and WiFi.

I ordered three pizzas and there was a mix up with one of the staff and the owner was incredibly gracious with us as customers and brought us a free pizza, the food is increadible, best Pizza ive ever eaten and the owner is very commited to making your experinece an amazing one. Heard about this little gem by word of mouth, and am so glad I popped in. Their coffee is great, and their croissants are out of this world (worth calling to make sure theyre not sold out, as theyre freshly baked and very popular). Theyre a 2 mins walk from the beach, with ample parking... highly recommended.

Awesome place with proper Italian style pizza. Thin bases, wood fired ovens, perfectly balanced with quality ingredients. Unbelievably quick. Friendly staff. I had a pizza last time I was here a year ago and went out of my way to bring to my family from Umhlanga, we were definitely not disappointed. Give this place a try and you wont be either.Note: There isnt a huge amount of space and parking may be difficult
