We went to the lodge for lunch we called ahead and when we arrived we were the only guests ordered drinks which took forever we had to get soft drinks from the bar as we were thirsty drinks eventually arrived so we ordered our lunch took a while but when it arrived it was cold and we could see poor meat quality and cutsThe meat was so tough and sinew all over you couldnt cut it the mutton chops were so tough i had to spit them out after trying to chew for 10 minutesService was just as bad the manager was more intent in shouting over his phone to callers about his ideas on current sport issues but more swear words than a sailor i n a harbor pubWe were continually bugged by the staffs dogs who were under the tables while we were eating.Sorry but that is a waste of time and hard earned moneyWill never go back whilst it is managed by the current people

Fantastic host, thank you Jean. Excellent overnight stay. We were traveling from Hermanus to Durban. Definitely another over night stay on our next road trip.

No attention to detail. One almost finished toilet roll. Coffee cup not washed. No teaspoon to stir coffee. Not offered dessert after dinner and just left sitting unattended in the dining room. Cooked Breakfast cold.

Would recommend to anyone. I haven’t even spent the night yet and I am impressed.

Friendly host. Nice setting. Attention to detail required. Restaurant menu in room differs fron menu in restaurant. Food served on cold plates. After serving our main course we never saw the host again and were not offered a dessert. The bed was comfortable but creaked loudly when you moved disturbing light sleepers.

They took us in on short notice quite late in the evening as we’d been on the road all day. Comfy bedroom and amenities; comfy little pub in the Lodge itself and we were able to order meals too; awesome pizza & hubby an awesome steak. Breakfast the following morning was amazing, real farm breakfast and plenty of choice for me a vegetarian🤣 Friendly and hospitable management!

Promised Id leave a review about 6 months ago when I crossed South Africa by scooter, so here goes.Spent 2 nights at this lodge and had a great stay much thanks to the incredibly helpful staff and beautiful sorroundings. Since I was planning on camping out and cooking my own food they helped me setup a portable kitchen and lend me the utensils nessecary, but more importantly as night drew closer they lend me the key to one of their two bed rooms for no extra charge! 2 nights in a row! Just because of the mere fact that it was free for the night. I seldom slept so well, the room was very clean and comfortable. Nice lounge with a cute house dog as well, and overall perfect place for off trail hiking in the southern Drakensberg or if you just want to take in the calm atmosphere among the pastures.Very grateful for the great stay - would highly recommend!

Neat tidy basic. Huge supper, enormous breakfast, silly really. Location could not be more perfect and a lovely place to walk after a long day in the car.

Its a great place to stay but you dont have a microwave or iron in your room that is what is depressing.

Nice stopover between KZN and Western Cape.
