What a great experience we had last night. The curry, the roasts and the seafood everything was well worth it.

I am absolutely taken aback by how rude the manager Shalen Manda was. Instead of being accommodating and recognising that the communication from the telephone booking was not specific about the time he was so rude.I arrived around 6pm near the parking of the building with my family. Then took time to find parking and do covid compliance. I then arrived to be told my table has been given to someone else. This was exactly at 18.30. When I did the booking no one told me I had to be at the restaurant exactly at 6pm when I did the booking. In fact I was instead informed the buffet goes from 6pm to around 9pm, when I asked about time specifics. At this point no one told me that of I dont arrive exactly at 6pm that my table would be given away. For R395 per head the de-escalation skills are sub par.This is the worst restaurant experience I have had until Nontando Ndlovu assisted with turning the tables around. The food and hospitality was saved by not the manager (which is his job) but by the friendliness of the restaurant staff, chefs, waitors and waitresses.The food was great, however some items could be improved such as overcooking and freshness of fish.Although the overall experience didnt turn out so poorly, I will keep the rating at 1 star because of the way my booking was handled.

You eat what you pay for. Best part: dessert, its to die for!! The ambiance is quite nice and you can take a walk to the beach afterwards to digest all that food 😁 If I had to go back? I would definitely.

The food was absolutely delicious and well presented,good layout of the buffet area.Chefs always interact with guests,querying how can they improve on the menu and did you enjoy the food,which is awesome.Thumbs up to Lingela Restaurant.

Huge buffet offering lunch and dinner. Located inside Southern Sun Elangeni. Many options to choose from. Very meaty menu. Generic pasta, salads and curry vegetarian options offered.I enjoyed what little vegetables that were on offer and my colleagues thoroughly enjoyed the meat curries and carvery. Theres also a seafood stir fry area offering prawns and fish which was constantly busy. Tea and coffee are included in the buffet.The washroom facilities are a little bit of a walk away from the restaurant but are still located within the hotel. The floors are highly polished so watch your step too.Staff were super fast, friendly and helpful and were always around when needed.

Food was fantastic. Staff were very helpful. Tables were a bit too close for my liking as it does not meet minimum social distancing requirements.

The food was good although not much variety in terms of alcohol and food choices. The chefs were friendly and helpful. The waiters were not helpful at all. Often times we would have to get up from our seats to look for our waiter (who only came to our table twice in the 2.5 hours that we spent there).

Worthy of 5 stars. A well situated , hidden gem in the heart of the Durban Coastline. Dinner service was impeccable , not a thing missing. The staff are helpful and attentive. Well worth the price if you are hungry and in the mood to be ravenous. Drinks are not included in the main dinner package aside from tea and coffee. A define recommend for birthdays and anniversaries.

I will never ever come to this establishment.I booked for my family on new years eve, and had to pay 48hrs in advance. There was constant communication with the facility on the day of the booking, but 3hrs before we were due to come they cancelled. As for the pathetic response i got for getting my refund, its day 13 and i am still waiting. Every excuse on the book to process the refund was given to me. The representative even disputed their own account which they gave on their quote for me to use to deposit, infact they claimed their account number was my account.As a holiday maker, i was asked to go to a bank during my holiday to get my bank confirmation!!!As a holiday maker i had to scanned the refund form and was given the excuse that i need to scan it portrait and not landscape!!! i thought copying and pasting was not a big job for office staff, but Nooooo. I had to wait to get back to work and scan this the preferred way!!!!If i was the one who caused the inconvenience, i would somehow accept this. But for a company to cancel on a customer and display such incompetence and inconsideration is nothing less than pathetic. Customer care. The latest communication tells me that they will only process a refund after a week, which means the refund turnaround is 25 days, whilst i was requested to pay within 48hrs!!!

We visited the restaurant on the 31 January 2020 and was disappointed with the buffet. Used to be very good but seems to be less value for money than before. The quality and variety of food should have stayed the same as the price did increase, but this was not the case. We were a party of 11 and wont be visiting the restaurant again. Service was good and staff still very friendly but not worth the cost.

As a resident of Elangeni Hotel I feel that we should get first preference. As for the staff they must learn to interact with customers. In my opinion they are not looking for just two people to dine but four or more. That is the impression I got. The staff just ignore you and continue discussion amongst themselves. I think customers should be respected and not ignored. Very poor reflection on Tsogo Sun. I think my next visit I will go where I am appreciated. I have travelled to most countries and this mot the treatment one received at one hotel.

I was blown away / absolutely impressed. The staff on point with service and attention to detail not to mention friendliness. The food was a show stopper, nothing short of excellent. It was my husbands birthday and they brought out this beautiful cake that we could take home. Coffee and tea on the house. Every moment every taste was worth every buck. I am happy.

Online booking was seamless with a confirmation sms and email. Phone call on the day to confirm we were going to be there as well as checking if we were celebrating a special occasion. Excellent planning. Front of house staff were friendly and the waiters attentive and helpful.The food is good but we were expecting something much, much better based on the 5 star ratings in the other reviews... while there are highlights in some of the dishes/ stations, the food is not overwhelmingly special. Its the kind of food you get at conferences and the sides are sad (the vegetables and cold starters in particular). No salad, but that may be because it is winter. The desserts are beautifully presented but they are very bland and most of them have similar textures, so they all therefore end up tasting the same. The wine list is limited.A very disappointing part of the entire experience were the fellow patrons at the restaurant. Because we were there with our kids, we arrived early upon the restaurant opening. The rush to the chef stations was like watching food aid distribution queues. People jostled for position and invaded personal space. The anxiety and impatience that people exhibited, when having to wait their turn to be served, was not conducive to a pleasant evening. Even our kids who are normally oblivious to this stuff, remarked that people were acting like they hadnt seen food for a long time. We asked our waiters whether this was the normal state of affairs and they said that the restaurant that night was not full and when full is much worse.

The food was delicious! The variety was amazing.... I cant wait to go back

My family and I had lunch today the 08.04.18. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and felt that the variety offered for the buffet price was well worth it. Even the line for the seafood which is prepared as you require it is worth the wait. Service is excellent despite the restaurant being busy so it speaks volumes on the management and staff at Lindela.

Value for money. family orientated atmosphere. Great location. Staff very accomodating. Worth a visit.

Lovely venue for affordable meals and their pizzas are pretty good. The in-hotel parking is an added bonus - and it’s free👍

We searched for a Sunday buffet restaurant online, and this restaurant was recommended. We booked online, but could only get a booking at 14h30. On arrival we where taken to a table and saw a lot of empty tables around. It was noisy as there where several big parties there. My immediate impression was that the food was unappetizing. Empty serving platters where everywhere. I enquired about non-alcoholic beer and was told none was available. The fresh fried fish starter was poor. The salads oily and unappetizing. I tried some of the lamb curry and kabob curry. Could not believe that it was so bad. There was 2 dry pieces of what look like naan available. I the tried the beef roast that was badly sliced and bordered on raw. It was tough and the roast potatoes was cold. The chicken was ok. My wife also tried several different dishes , and wasnt very impressed. The desert table at this stage was fairly empty and the ice cream scoop was lying in a very dirty watery mess. The cheese board had no crackers and the cheese had gone dry. At this point we decided to rather pay and leave. I stay at many Tsogo Sun hotels during the year and this must rate as the worst restaurants around at the expensive price. Maybe go look at how Tsogo V&A CT does their buffet. They are streets ahead of what we had today.

The food was divine but waiters service left a lot to be desired, however it does not take the ambience and the greatness of the place
