The Oceanic is a nice place to stay. The Unit that we stayed in was very nice. The decor was beautiful. The staff was friendly and professional. The covid 19 protocol was followed. I would just suggest that they revamp the entrance. It was a nice stroll to the beach. The spar was also close (walking distance) to the Oceanic. I would not suggest that you park in the street. Be prepared to pay for parking under the Oceanic.Durban Parade was clean and it was a pleasure to swim in the sea.

Absolutely disgusting resort in terms of their service. We were first given a room that was completely flooded, so definitely not how one wants to start their holiday. The security guard was extremely aggressive towards us because of a parking bay. The receptionist and cleaning staff are just rude. If you ask them to do something they will tell you to do it yourself. Our safe locked and no one was willing to help us. We had to travel all the way back to Limpopo and they refused to help us. It was the most uncomfortable stay. The person who was helpful was Sipho the manager when we were able to get a hold of him but before that we were lied to about where he is and what time he starts work. I wouldnt recommend this resort to anyone.

The staff were friendly and very helpful. Im not sure why they cap their wifi coupons. The unit was comfortable but not as clean as Id expect. The host was very responsive and a great communicator. It is close to the beach but I would walk out at night.

Wonderful hotel. We stayed for 7 nights and the staff was very professional. They were also very helpful whenever we needed assistance. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay with a very short walk to the beach & shops.

The Oceanic would have gotten four stars if it hadnt been for the generator like sounding air conditioner and a few other issues.The first apartment had a hot plate and that was of no help because I needed an oven, didnt I?! We were given another apartment that was nicer but still no oven. They dont put in ovens in a two sleeper because we dont roast or bake.If youre going to put in a hot plate stove, spend a little more and put in one that comes with an oven...nuf saidThe general layout of the kitchen is simple and lacked thought and whilst we dont spend hours in it (were on holiday or working), we want it to be functional...simple can still be functional.The bedroom was lovely...no complaints except for the noisy air conditioner.There was no soap dish or shower caddy or a shelf of any sort, on which to place your toiletries. Be careful of getting a scalding when in the shower...happened to us a couple of times.You should take back your money from the contractor that does your renovations or if youre hiring a handyman, someone should oversee his/her work.The lack of pride in their job and untidy work in the painting, grouting and silicone robs you of nailing that upmarket look youre trying to achieve with your porcelain tiles, stone cladding, bespoke wallpaper, etc.The staff were lovely. Mr. Moyo, the manager, was even lovelier (just a wonderful man)and quite accommodating. I applaud what he tries to do with the given budget.Oceanic, Im in your corner(believe it or not)...just sort out some stuff and youll be great, perhaps four stars, maybe even *****

Nice clean looking hotel just off the beach front and within walking distance of not only the beach but also stores and other amenities.

The place is beautiful and staff very friendly. The only problem we had was that the cleaning staff didnt clean thoroughly and they stole from us.

I was looking forward to check in to the hotel, since me and my friends made a reservations at this hotel for the 29th January to 2nd of February 2021 however things changed because of the national government regulations stating that we cant travel from one province to another. We tried to change our dates and the at hotel says they cant change it because its not their fault which I understand and its not our fault as well. Under the hotel policies they didnt state that theres are no changes of dates, they only stated that its non-refundable.

Fantastic Stay ! Polite Stay and Great Food

Very poor management of the property! If only there was a 0 star rating. Do NOT consider renting here as management of the hotel just walk into the apartments being rented without the tenant being present and without getting consent of the tenants. The GM, David is absolutely rude and has no people skills. Overall very untidy, full of cockroaches and terribly noisy.

It does have a okay view onto the ocean but the car guard and service there is pretty good but my overall experience was okay. I did go to a airb&b place so it was not serviced by the oceanic...

The 3 star hotel that is part of the first group never seems to disappoint they offer world class experience. The staff is indeed representing their establishment very well I cant forget the front office Cyril,Thuli the waitress, Ncami the chef and Sipho Food and Bev manager. Cant wait to visit again

Clean windows more regularly. Its not nice to have a perfect view with dusty windows it just kills the mood.

The oceanic was so marvellous. Their rooms are so clean and orderly. The staff were trained very well cause everyday when we come back from the beach we found our belongings in order and the hotel itself is so beautiful and clean

The place is beautiful and clean ... except it has this not so good smell (probably the products used to clean ) ... the food in the restaurant aint so bad , enjoyed the chicken curry ☝️ you should probably stay away from the wraps (the one I ate had very oily fish fingers inside ) ....Unfortunately I never got to enjoy the pool side due to weather conditions _ the pool side is lovely though; nice place to chill and have lunch ... .. the receptionist plus the cleaners are very friendly ☺.

Loved it! From the easy check in, to the friendly staff that even helped carry our luggage to our room. The place is very clean and very beautiful. We could even see the ocean from our room. It was close to a spar and a pick n pay for anything you need. Very close to the ocean! Id love to come back

Pretty decent after the upgrade. Apartments are much more pleasant and comforting to the eye but same old facilities and same disgusting jacuzzi and pool area which is a mission to get to, not to mention that you have bring your own poolside towels as this first resort facility does not provide any (first resort I have heard of that inconveniences guests). Did I mention that the Apartments are much better! The huge photo couch in the foyer looks very dirty and probably has not been washed since it was placed there! Come on guys, step up the entire game!

Has a swimming pool and friendly & helpful staff. If bored, there are a few games that can be hired as well. Inside parking is also available.

Great location and clean facility. Modest restaurant on 1st floor. But like several Durban hotels age has caught up with the interior furnishings and fittings.

The location is nice as its walking distance from the beach and amenities as well as a Spar and Pick n Pay. The staff is really friendly and helpful. Theres safe underground parking (including for guests for R30 a night). The rooms are modern and clean. It gets cleaned every morning with fresh towels. However, the wifi is difficult to connect to and the signal is very very poor and slow. The pool area does not look as advertised and the jacuzzi was closed and very dirty. But for a beach holiday - will definitely recommend!

Units are clean and neat, but very basic. Must be very skinny to get into the shower past the door. No microwaveable cooking containers. No oven. Microwave and stove top with selection of pots and pans. It is adequate and survivable, but definitely not 5 star. Being near the beach front, it is quite noisy at night (traffic and people).

I wish I could give them zero stars.My mother had an operation and she was flying in from JHB to DBN and they are not willing to give her the room 1 hour before check in which is at 15:00, and check out was at 10:00. The lady Sunera was unfriendly and unaccommodating. I spoke to Renay/René at head office and she is just as bad, if not even worse.Please close down.

Beautifully located with quick access to the beach and Sun Coast Casino.

Walked in walked out. Outdated and you feel dirty and unsafe. No splash of paint or a quick fix up would ever make a difference this establishment should have been shut down about 10 years ago

What a place.. The hotel has an old look outside but once in, it is a different experience..Rooms are organised in open plan sitting room, kitchen and dining.. The place is spacious with friendly employees that go the extra mile..

Wow it was our first time to enjoy like this .Staff was very friendly ..we felt as one family with them.The manager was like our brother. We enjoyed jaccuzi and steam room .We can not wait to go back again..soon..

Beutiful place, great location. Only downfall is the wifi. Not strong enough and not consistent- keeps getting cut off now and again. Not good for all business person who has work to do. Not a good spot for self catering with family as I wished for. Not enough utensils, and stove, safe not working.....The lists goes on with the amount of missing equipment that you would normally get at a self catering place.

No smiles from staff at reception! My safe did not work, a much needed service in SA. I wish there was a soap holder in the shower. Or a place to hang a towel. The crowd outside the hotel does not make one feel safe. Otherwise not a bad place. Close to the beach. Did not try the restuarant. There are facilities to cook in the room and a supermarket 2 mins away.

After daily escalations, the Shower in the main bedroom was blocked from the first day until the day we left. Hotel looks good with refurbishment but infrastructure is very old. Got the feeling that the Group it belongs to does not take the management of this hotel seriously. Plus factor is that it is located directly opposite the Jamaat Khanna.

Not too bad a hotel if youre on a tight budget, but it has its own issues. Not the greatest of views, my room got flooded when I was taking a shower and it took more than 12 hours to get it sorted.
