Excellent club, floor setup makes it feel very spacious and all equipment is easily accessible. Has alot of equipment that you wont find even in some of the larger much higher rated clubs. 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽

I agree with the last review, the senior management need to explain the prolonged closure, even when all other businesses were open in Durban. The, proof of this manipulation of circumstances, will be fully substantiated if they try charge members for the full month of July 2021. Watch this space for an Oh, but we will give you a month extra at the end of your contract. Not interested if this happens, and like other members, I expect a pro-rata charge for July and nothing less!

This gyms staff do not enforce covid protocols and have not done so for a very long while. They do not care and as a consequence the people in the gym do not care about it aswell. It is appalling and Ive had aggressive encounters many a time with other members in the gym. Its very sad actually. Club manager is Mzo, been to meeting upon meeting with him and he doesnt care or do anything about it. Im done with this gym as a daily gym now.

I love my gym. I have been going (on/off) for almost 4 years now. And the gym is always clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Even during Covid 19, hand sanitizers and disinfectant are always available around the gym. The only thing is that there is no staff on the gym floor to assist with those who are unsure how to use the equipment.

This is clearly a money making racquet at the expense of its members. The gym remains temporarily closed a full week after the unrest in Durban, whilst every other business is open for business. Even previously damaged/affected businesses are open, Virgin Active in Durban was in no way compromised. When one calls the number, you wait 30mins to talk to a Call Centre consultant, who then lie saying it is closed for the safety of its members, and when questioned as to what they are safeguarding against a nervous fumble of the same lie unfolds. I asked for a Supervisor to call me back and explain the deception, after leaving my details and waiting 4 days, I have heard nothing.......What does Virgin Active know that the champions of business and Government members in Natal dont? One has to question if staff are being paid full salaries, as it appears that the intention is not to run non pro-ratad debit orders and instead charge for full membership fees in July even though Virgin Active are withholding use of the gym. The modus operandi is no doubt near zero costs with almost 100% profit for July? The senior management here have no concern for the health and wellbeing of their members. if they cared they would offer the facility that members pay for, to go and de-stress ad improve their health in these difficult times. Shame on you Virgin Active, you have become part of the problem when you should be part of the solution!!

Enforcement of mask rule needs to be more stringent whilst working out or walking around in the gym unless very vigorous exercise being undertaken. An automatic sanitizing station should be used rather than a press button for further safety from Covid upon entry. Otherwise the facility is clean with health safety protocols in place for Covid compliance. Great atmosphere.

I do not normally go to this gym unless I have to, the showers have a funky smell compared to Pavilion and Cornubia. I know they are being cleaned though.

Loved it just hated the showers, absolutely no privacy wish they had the same showers as the Autrium Virgin active now they know how to do showers

Had a query and found them to be very strict with the quota allowed in per hour. The manager helped me to satisfaction and my problem was solved.

I have been calling them all day today, no one is answering the phone... Someone accidentally locked my locker in the change rooms in the morning... I left my number and its the end of the day now and I have not received an update... Nor is anyone answering the phone...

This gym leaves a lot to be desired.

Take a quick jog from from the main hotels on North Beach to the gym. Offers a heated pool and excellent equipment. Clean and tidy. Recommended

Friendly upbeat and informative staff. The facility itself is one of my favorites as Ive been to a few clubs around Durban. Their heat class is amazing. I just wish they would fix the tiles in the ladies shower area to non slip. As I walk like a penguin every time, but still end up slipping.

Fantastic facilities. Very conveniently located. Staff are very very friendly and assist with any help you need. Pool was sparkling clean and all equipment was immaculately hygienic. Considering the amount of traffic that comes through this gym I was pleasantly surprised when I visited there from Johannesburg recently. Keep it up!

Too many members. If you go at peak time you have to park across the road because there is never parking and the actual gym floor is too full to do anything. You spend more time waiting for a machine or weights.

Great customer service. Here you are welcomed with a smile on your arrival at the reception desk. Clean and always smells fresh. Even the cleaning staff is friendly and very polite.

Disappointing to see that hardly anyone wears masks while exercising in this gym. When asking staff why they are not asking people to put their masks on they say that they dont listen anyway. This place is a Covid disaster waiting to happen!

This is the worst Virgin Active Ive ever been to. It is grubby - mouldy ceilings in the changerooms, filthy airconditioning ducting and paint peeling off doors etc. I did not see a single cleaner the entire time I was there - at other locations you literally fall over cleaners constantly. Ugh!

Big and busy gym with its own parking area, which has tight parking bays. Large studio for yoga etc.

Lovely state of the art equipment. After 4pm the gym gets overcrowded, parking gets too full and unable to accomodate members. Staff are very friendly and love the vibe .The pool is clean and water regulated. Change rooms are freezing .After a swim expect to become a icicle

This gym, at times in my life it the only thing that makes sense

As with other Virgin Active gyms, the steam rooms are very well maintained and cleaned often. The machines are kept in good order and the staff are very helpful. Getting parking, not to mention getting in and out of the parking lot can be a lengthy process during peak times.

Upgrade complete - Spin studio has new advanced bikes, great sound system, new strength equipment in the main gym area and a new Heat cardio workout room where hard work is the name of the game! Its time to sign up if you arent a member, I started with a Booster Pack where a personal trainer is assigned to you and they work out a programme and give you a few lessons to get you on your way! Well worth it!

Recently replaced all the equipment. Busy gym, but never short of things to do. Well set out and has everything and more for every type of training.

Not my favorite. Front desk service is sloppy, gym isnt as clean as it used to be especially ladies dressing area. But if youre going to workout, equipment is all functional, available and user friendly. In fact some of the machines are newer than the ones at Moses Mabhida Collection, especially cardio equipment.

Virgin Active gym that has a big swimming pool, sauna in the ladies change rooms, and am told a steam room in the mens changing room. Good weights and cardio section upstairs. Kauai store on ground floor.

My experience with Virgin Active is hit or miss. The staff can be rude, and the showers dirty, and with a foul odur.

A lot of the older strength equipment has been updated. Cardio equipment generally older. New functional fitness area that has great potential. Looking forward to the conpletion of the heat studio

A nice gym with everything you need, but nothing setting it apart from other local gyms. Lots of cardio equipment and a small weights section. Dont go in peak times for weights..

The gym is rather spacious, but nonetheless, still gets rather busy during peak times and this can become rather frustrating as youll end up spending more time waiting for equipment and weights (if you can find a matching pair because nobody puts the weights back - not even the so-called floor staff that stand around and do nothing) than actually being physically able to do any exercise

Well equipped gym, with swimming pool and a health shop. Ample parking. Can get busy at times but value for money.

Comprehensive gym. Has variety of equipment and these are upgraded every few years. Has swimming pools and steam bath. Runs classes and specific spinning classes too. Its sorrounded by Moses mabhida stadium, kingspark rugby stadium, athletic stadium. So it gets busy over weekends with delays and problems in accessing the gym. In these cases, they allow usage of other virgin active gyms excluding premium gyms.

Its my 2nd home absolutely love it

Great gym , the vibe is awesome and the floor staff are always friendly and willing to assist in any way they can. The weights are old school but the equipment is always new and well maintained.

While large this gym has no sauna and no squash courts. Equipment has recently been upgraded as has the layout. Unfortunately the facilities like the locker room, showers and toilets are rather old and parking can be rather tight at times

Been going there from Health n Racquet days. Always gud. Unfortunately needs a bit of sprucing. Power plates always faulty- now totally taken away. No answer as to when it will be returned. Normally there abt 15 times a month.
