My wife and I had the misfortune of dealing with this individual. He is a rude, racist bully. Doesnt listen to anything you have to say. He thinks he knows best. We paid him R3500. 00 for two sessions. He offered a money back guarantee if his methods didnt work and guess what it didnt. He asked me to ignore my dog for a full week and that will solve the behavior problem. When we went back for the second session he was absolutely frustrated and blamed me for not doing it properly. He forgot everything that we discussed during the first session and insisted that we never mentioned certain behavior problems that we where experiencing. We walked out during the second session because I was going to lose my tepmer with him. He assured us that he would refund my money. Its been almost two years now and he still doesnt take my calls. He is a horrible person to deal with. Stay clear of this man. Your money is better spent elsewhere.

Dogter Steve is the only person who was successful in sorting out our dog aggression and obedience issues between our two Staffies.We had tried numerous and popular dog trainers/ behaviorists in the past, however nothing worked and our VET bills were mounting due to my dogs vicious fighting.Dogter Steves approach was kind and thoughtful toward our dogs, no harmful/ aggressive tactics were used to get them to listen. He went above and beyond to help us and make sure we understood how to be better and responsible dog parents.He also didnt charge us an arm and leg for the training compared to other dog behaviorists we we had tried before.His knowledge and approach works, if you are looking for results I would 100% recommend Dogter Steve

I called for his assistance in 2019 for my Staffie that has severe separation anxiety since moving from my hometown to Durban and was very rudely told that he doesnt think id be able to afford his services, which was an absolute insult because im not sure how you can tell how much money someone has by their voice and little did he know, i was willing to pay anything. He then proceeded to tell me that if my dog is pushing his way through a fence that I should get a stronger fence obviously not making the connection that the reason my dog was doing that was because of anxiety whenever we left him alone... Do not recommend. Very rude man that missed out on a lot of money because of his unprofessional behavior.

This man is the RUDEST person I have ever met in my entire life, hands down! Whatever u do, stay away fm him. Arrogant, entitled, full of himself, no consideration for anybody else in the world, a poor excuse for a human being!!!

Many of the negative comments placed about this business appear to be harsh, however believe them. Sadly so, I also had a dog with behavior problems and I heard about Steve. He did not come recommended but just as a person to try. His consultation was a joke, he approach archaic and fortunately I didnt part with any money before I saw this was going no where! He is a bit of a joke and a waste of 90 minutes of mine and my wifes time. You have been warned. His well below average score (3.1) should alone tell the story.

Unpleasant man. I took my dog to him in 2017 to pursue his services. He said he could assist. Circumstances changed and I notified him that I wont need his services at the time. Now, needing assistance again, I called him and he simply refused to help me as too much time had gone past. I asked him to explain it to me as we had merely done an assessment and no behavioural lessons. He said that he didnt have the time to give me his reasons. His behaviour is completely unfair and unjustified. I wouldnt be writing this review if he has just explained himself.

Refused to help based on when I got my dog (4 weeks) - I do understand that it was too early but how could I control the situation ? - I was not going to leave the dog in those conditions. The vet Ive been too even agreed to me taking the pup away. I was looking forward to this training, and am extremely disappointed in his response of your dog cant ever be helped

Awful person using archaic methods based on scientifically disproven theories. Dont waste your time or your money! He just sits at his table for 3 hours and talks politics. Also racist, sexist and homophobic. Your dog deserves far better!

My German Shepherd started fighting with my Lab cross! The last attack almost saw the end of my Lab! I had to do something! I googled Dog behaviour problems and came across Dogter Steve and thought what do I have to lose cause the alternative was to get rid of one of my dogs! When I first met Dogter Steve I wasnt sure it would work but quickly realised that he only had my dogs best interests at heart which is all I cared about! I followed through with all the sessions and have since followed all of Dogter Steves instructions and I have not had another incident since! In fact my whole pack (6 dogs) are much more relaxed and content! I would definitely recommend Dogter Steve to anyone with dog issues He has definitely helped me to understand my dogs better!! We struggled with a dysfunctional pack of dogs where we had an aggressive female ridgeback that attacked our female dachshunds for no apparent reason and with no warning - leading to extreme injuries and vet bills as well as an hospital ER visit for my wife. We consulted with various other dog trainers - who failed to grasp the concept of the issue at hand.We randomly heard of Dogtor Steve and decided to contact him. We had an initial 3 hour session with him where he monitored the behaviour of the ridgeback in our presence and explained dog behaviour in detail to us. I not only found that he has an extensive knowledge of dogs, but also that he loves dogs.Dogtor Steve, after the initial session, advised that the thought that our situation was to far gone and recommended that we do not take risks with the dogs. He came to our property to make recommendations of how to safeguard our dachshunds to keep them separate from the aggressive ridgeback. For months we tried to use his recommended methods, which he advised will most likely not be successful in this specific case, and eventually - after another attack, we decided to abort the process.Dogtor Steve assisted us with finding a suitable home for our Ridgeback, he turned down various homes - that he felt was not compatible, and was instrumental in doing neutral meetings and even hosted both dogs at his property to live side by side under his supervision before he was comfortable to approve the re homingWe since then have adopted 2 more puppies (one ridgeback and one dachshund) and followed his protocol and have no issues. He doesnt teach them how to be circus dogs and do tricks - he teaches humans and dogs about behaviour and how to react to different dogs and situations.I recommend that any one struggling with dog behavioural, aggression or dominance issues, or anyone who has adopted a new puppy or dog, consider his assistance.
