Prof Govender diagnosed me with Sciatica. His professional manner compounded with his empathetic nature made me feel that this was a doctor who understood my pain and suffering whilst other professionals just treated the symptoms without getting to the root of the problem.Prof Govender explained in detail my problem and the procedure he would perform in theatre ie Caudal Block. Having been to theatre on numerous occasions...this was the first occasion where a doctor stood by my bed throughout recovery. His concern for me as a patient showed his attitude towards his profession.
