Lovely stadiumCant wait for fans to be allowed back in.Should host more Games
World class cricket stadium. Always a brilliant atmosphere in here when the local team, Hollywood Dolphins or the International team play
Best place to have a cricket match!!!
Parking is an issue. You will walk quite a bit. The toilets are okay but do smell at times. The people working there were there in number to help. During a Test match there isnt much available and freshness is questionable. Not all stands are shaded and you do need an umbrella. The finishes need to be modernized the score board is broken and need to be replaced and not just post a tiny one up. I feel this stadium could be world class once upgraded. There needs to be a better parking system and official car guards to help elevate the major traffic jams after matches.
Toilets are spotless security is friendly and helpful they know what is going on and the area is very clean
My grand daughter has pyshio here. Lots of parking. B
I enjoy going there
Always good...
A nice ambience. Fast service. Polite and friendly staff. Clean environment. Plenty of parking.
Always a great place to be
Awesome views from the VIP suites.
Kingsmead is a cricket ground in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Its stated capacity is 25,000, although grass terracing makes up part of the viewing area. The end names are the Umgeni End and the Old Fort Road End. It is the home ground of the KwaZulu-Natal Dolphins.
The best experience
Myself and my wife went to watch a four day provincial game today. A lovely sunny day, holiday season, beautiful grass banks and professional cricketers to entertain. But as far as we could see, we were the only two spectators at the game. When we arrived the boundary fielder turned around to greet us! The worlds worst marketing department would battle to not fill these banks on such a day. The games local administrators must be truly awful.Actually all admission gates were in fact closed. The security on the Umgeni end told us that there was definitely no game on, just a function. On the other end we had to persuade the security guard that we had come to watch the came. He asked us Why? but was very courteous and opened a gate for us to drive in. Whereupon we had the stadium to ourselves.I will go again. I just hope no-one else finds out about this cricket.
Well kept stadium and grounds with great matches at times.Fairly easy to navigate around by yourself yet lacks some bathroom cleanliness. If its a match with a large attendance then parking becomes an issue requiring you to park further away.
Historical cricket ground 👍.
Kingsmead stadium is always such a great place to watch cricket. The stadium is extremely well maintained and clean. There is a good variety of seating options with a crowd favourite being the grass embankments. There are also hospitality options. Or you can get food and drink from one of the many vendors.Nothing like a day at the cricket!
Good
Stadium has a great atmosphere, crowd is well controlled and it’s easy to find your way around. Only issue is parking, when there’s a big game, you have to park a little distance away on the centre island of the road and walk to the stadium. Otherwise, everything else is excellent.
Lovely wedding venue.
Wonderful place to enjoy some cricket! They just need to fix that second screen so that people in the east stand can see the replays, etc. Fantastic atmosphere and the food is surprisingly good too!
Nice place
The best
Have not been down there in years but was pleasantly surprised by ease of access, parking, security etc. Pity they think the best way to sell beer is not decant cans into cups one at a time!
Went in 2003, to watch one of the matches for the ICC cricket world Cup ..it was between England and some other team.. I had found it excellent, with good facilities, refreshments were easily available.. Playing Ground and building itself was very well maintained..
Absolutely lovely day out with family. Ample parking. Affordable prices for tickets. Great vibe and atmosphere. Good food and drinks. Thumb up for halaal foods. Not sure if there are ablution and prayer facilities. Two thumbs up if there is, please consider if there isnt. Clearly marked directions so you dont get lost. Helpful and friendly assistants.
Enjoyed the experience. Lots of entertainment. Food all over. Loved the vibe at the Proteas T20
My daughter had her wedding there and was so beautiful. Was impressed . Every thing was amazing. Lovley venue.
A very open stadium with quite a few bars and food kiosks to buy most types of food.Be careful with pick pockets, but they can be found at every stadium in South Africa.
We had a very enjoyable day out watching our boys play... the vibe was energetic and wholesome
This was the venue for the finish of Comrades Marathon. Parking is a nightmare. Toilet facilities are totally inadequate(and hard to find) for a venue this size- and very dirty. Signposting is not helpful. Perhaps it was just on the day but it really is filthy inside and out.
Security and facilities were great! Needs some maintenance and some paint though. So many great memories at this stadium!
Excellent facilities. Plenty food stallsToilets well maintained.
Since it first hosted a Test match in 1923, Kingsmead has become one of South Africa’s main cricket stadiums, and is home to the KwaZulu Natal provincial team, the Dolphins. Kingsmead is a short distance from the sea and the pitch actually sits below sea-level, which many believe offers changing conditions depending on the tide. The stadium has been redeveloped over the years to accommodate 25 000 people, while keeping the old main grandstand.Kingsmead played host to a famous timeless Test match between England and South Africa in 1939 that lasted 10 days and ended as a draw when the English team had to catch their boat back to Britain.
New renovations, parking charge reduced, I was happy going this time, its a remarkable improvement from what it was 5 years ago
Lovely atmosphere, lovely people . We won the cricket ! 🇬🇧
The atmosphere is always phenomenal, I just love being there
🤙
It was so nice to be there but the rain last night
Excellent condition
Always a world class facility, properly run with great service
What an amazing experience and well worth any trip to Durban
Love this stadium. Very clean and welcoming. Love the little bunny bar outside there.
We attended the SA vs Pakistan ODI. People were well behaved and there was good crowd control. Facilities are clean and well maintained.
Great stadium for cricket. The Proteas play here often.
Absolutely amazing atmosphere for cricket. Especially T20 cricket. The grass stands is where I was, and the atmosphere during T20 match is absolutely energetic and lively.Ticket prices for these stands are well worth.
Good place for kids, had very good day.
Nice place to be
Always fun. Stadium is in good nick despite being pretty old. And no other stadium in S.A. has as nice if food as we do in Durbs
Home of the Durban Heat! Make sure you get some mini doughnuts and try to get seats on the north stand, its the best place to sit on chairs and have the best view
Its a nice cricket ground. Except no refreshments available and toilets.
Wonderful stadium and atmosphere is great, you get a good view regardless of where you are sitting.
One of the best atmospheres you can experience especially when India play here.
Great cricket ground, most seats have an excellent view of the grounds. 👍
Great vibe. Good service. Enjoy watching games here.
Enjoyed the ambience. Food plentiful. Easy to move around without disturbing other patrons
I visit this place often for Cricket matches. Sometimes it is a local match or an International one.Sahara Kingsmead Stadium never fails to disappoint. There are always lots of food stalls available with great food. My personal favourite is tge chip twisters. Freshly prepared as you wait and u can choose a flavour u would like on it.Its excellent on a cold day.
The area is well looked after the stalls sell great(bring lots of cash )there are ample car guards its close to Metro police headquarters.
Old yet very well kept... privileged to be hosted at a suite...lovely
Enjoyed the shopping at the India festival at the stadium. When it out of cricket season. The grounds are available for hire.
Awesome game SA vs ENG
This a lovely stadium with a spectacular atmosphere. Its a good night out with friends as it has an ample amount of alcohol as well as food. It is also kid friendly with lots of activities to keep kids busy during the cricket matches. I only gave 4 stars as I would have liked to be able to take my own gas braai in.
Parking is bit complicated. Not from Durban is not nice to look for parking if you dont where to go. But inside the staduim is very cool and well organice.
Fantastic stadium but unfortunately their were not many spectators. This could be due to the fact that it was a weekday.
