Ordered a mutton bunny from the deli after almost a year. Was really impressed with the quality. Lovely small pieces of soft succulent meat cooked to perfection. Flavor of the curry was amazing and almost like a home cooked meal. Seems like the new owners have injected a spark into the business. Well done to the cook. Food was fresh, tasty and well packed. Really a huge difference from the last time I ordered here. Keep up the good work. They need to have more special offers as their prices are quite high on the butchery items.

They need to sort out pre-packed polony and meat loafs. I was at a Caltex garage in Mount Edgecombe. I purchased the pre-packed polony. When I opened it, nothing was wrong smelt nice as well. But when I tasted it, it was bitter as if they sprayed the inside of the polony or before it be packed was sprayed with sanitize.

Today was the first time I used the delivery service, and it was the best experience. Shamanee responded quickly to my emails, I received phone calls regarding my delivery and the driver and assistant were friendly and helpful. Meat was fresh and neatly packed, so was the sausages and mince. Will definitely use this service and recommend it to others. Saves you the hassle of leaving the house, getting parking and the queues.

Purchased sausages today as per my weekly routine. In my opinion the texture of the meat has become very coarse and had no fat which I thought was once off.BUT NO. Today we purchased for our usual Friday braai and the sausages had turned to the total opposite texture with absolutely no flavor. So disappointed because I always knew star meats had the best sausages and I always went out of my way to purchase them. Looks like this tradition is going to change if star meats sausages does not go back to how it. Delicious. Delicious

Shopping at Star meats is a 5 star experience. Staff are fast, efficent and friendly. Help with heavy parcels from the meat counter all the way to the carpark.I particularly appreciate the separate lamb area as I am a Hindu and do not eat beef.Well one to Star Meats.

All types of beef,chicken and lamb . They marinated meats are amazing. The hot lamb sausages r the best . Wide variety of coldmeats, biltong, sweets, biscuits and cakes. Lots of yummy goodies in the Deli selection of which the Roast chicken is a must .

Sausages are well worth it and has good, quality meat in them. Baked goods are also of high standards and tastey. Mince is also good quality.They stock a variety of other items in the store that tastes great as well. Overall an excellent store with great products. Helpful and friendly staff. Bought mutton garlic polony STAR FRENCH MUTTON POLONY and in centre of one of the slices was a huge sharp piece of glass. That could have killed me. Called Avondale Spar and complained and called Star as well. This is unacceptable truly.. The guy at Star Meats took my details.down and said a manager will phone me back but nobody did. This sharp piece of glass or hard plastic could have caused internal injuries .Very poor quality standards. Will not purchase ever again at this butchery or any if their products

Star Meats is THE BEST, friendly staff that are ever ready to help. This place is absolutely neat, and meets with all of covid regulations. That is why I drive all the way from pinetown to buy my meat there. Their mutton burgers are simply devine.

Worst ever place to buy meats from. In the past 2 months that we have been buying from them everything we have purchased from them has been off. Mutton pieces, chicken pieces even sausages all have been spoilt

It was very disappointing to see how prices were hiked astronomically on New Years Eve and all price tags removed from the counters. As an example at the beginning of December I paid R39. 99p/kg for the roast chicken sausages however on New Years Eve the price was hiked to R105p/kg! Most other items were also alot more expensive. This is totally unacceptable

So i called to place an order for delivery for my elderly parents who are not in a position to travel due to the high risk of the pandemic. I get told that the order must be more than R750 (excl half a lamb) in order for delivery to take place for free. I also ask if I can just get the lamb and pay for the delivery seperately but that is apparently not an option either. How are you catering for the needs of those that cannot help themselves. It is selfish! Junaid should really review the policies around this...
