A very large store, its worth the trip.. there is no way you will not fund what you need here. Ample parking for even large truck size vehicles. There is even a complementary food truck just outside the doors. Staff are very knowledgeable about the items sold in store.

I had the most satisfied customer experience today. The gentleman Mr Warren Frank assisted me with all my building, sanitary and outdoor requirements. He was ever so helpful, polite and gave me some very bright ideas for my new house. The store was in an immaculate condition, well stocked and all the employees neatly attired in the builders uniforms and not forgetting they were friendly and willing to assist even if they were busy with another task.I will recommend this store to all my family and friends without hesitation. And Mr Warren Frank, you are an absolute asset to Builders Warehouse.

Have you ever watched a DIY short and said you could make a cupboard or table like that too? Well this is the store youd probably want to visit because from the wide variety of items stocked they surely will have the tools or materials you need for getting your project done. I will, however, caution you that the prices are at a premium but you can probably get everything you need in one trip.If youre not that hands on with things, Id strongly suggest taking advice from some of the staff before making purchases so you dont bleed cash buying unnecessary things.

I find the same problem at car dealerships, accessory stores, spares stores, bakeries, etc.When will businesses learn that you need to train your staff with 2 things - indepth product knowledge and intrinsically fuelled customer service. These are the components that make your sales. Why wont you just spend some time teaching your staff how to sell the best products that a particular customer can afford?Have you not heard of the term customer experience?Builders in general is an awesome store in which I regularly spend about 2 hours at a time. I love the fact that it has almost everything you need to make your home.Even with the issue above, I still find the store to always be well stocked and for the most part, fairly priced. Its nearly impossible to put a price on this kind of convenience. They even have a store card and online shop too. When they have price specials and sale isles - I really hit bargains. I paid a fraction of a price for most of my tools because I bought it on sale at Builders.

Store is neat and clean. There is however many items that do not have price tags and the scanner machines are difficult to access, as a staff member needs to scan for you. There is usually hardly any staff behind those scanner machine tables, and you sometimes spend more time finding out the price of an item than the time actually shopping.

Service is shocking been here 4 times it never changes. The 2 starts us for the deluxe guy and the door handle guy and that it. Plants enclosure/section:Has a reasonably wide variety of plants / seedlings; well laid out; looked quite invigorating, well-watered; attractive. Affordably priced.Other related items, such as potting soil, fertilizers, mulch, plant pots - impressive.Also was very impressed with the youngster ( sorry, cannot remember his name ) in attendance who, besides being quite knowledgeable about the items, was very polite, welcoming and helpful !Will be nice to shop there again.

I must say service I recieved there was shocking,when i queried something with regards to them wanting to charge me 3 times delivery fees for a small delivery they told me it was how the company works and the consultant that helped me sihle memela just laughed at me when I asked for clarity and when we requested for a manager to assist he came and also laughed at us as if we should just accept this broad daylight robbery eventually we had to pay delivery fees twice because they said they dont have a van/truck to accommodate our delivery which in my opinion can fit into a 8ton truck which has been done on numerous occasions by other builder suppliers before.they said we have to pay twice after much debate with manager at builders warehouse( building meterial) its only 2.7 km away from delivery address.i just dont understand how does that become my problem that I purchase goods and the company doesnt have a transport to deliver the goods at one delivery why is it i now have to firstly pay 3 times delivery as Sihle memela first charged me and even twice as the manager finally reached that conclusion I truly believe the goods I purchase are so less they could have all fit in one delivery load not all the loads they charged me but what makes me so upset angry disappointed and dissatisfied is the fact that I as a customer was taken like an idiot laughing stock for simply asking why am I being charged so many times,the staff there I feel kept on coming by the consultant serving me and looking who was the Client that was asking questions,I felt as if I had no right to ask I must pay even if it doesnt make sense to me why I must pay 3 times delivery for such little items purchased.I believe that the service there by staff it not good sihle memela must be taken for training so that he can understand,serve and be respectful to clients.please train staff and make sure they know how to give good service and also explain accurately and honestly why they charging for certain things because this guy sihle did not do justice and when I asked him for detailed explanation he just laughed and his other colleagues also came and laughed as if I was asking something funny,being over charged for service is not right fair or honest of company especially not builders warehouse nandi drive.Becareful guys when you purchase goods there ask the extra questions ....it may save you money check your slips,quotes ect.Very Very bad service by building supplies department not shopping there again...dissapionted and upset bad service consultant sihle memela hands down staff must be retrained or put in back office not with clients he dont know how to behave pathetic behavior disgusting.

Good service and amazing experience. Helpful staff members but there is a very rude guy at the Kitchen and Flooring Unit. I almost left the shop becoz of his attitude and the way he responded to me. The rest of the team was very helpful and provided an excellent service.

Big store. Wide range and variety

While the brick-and-mortar stores themselves are great (4 out of 5), do yourself a favour and do not use the online store (1 out of 5). It is so glitchy - stock is mislabelled, product information severely lacking (you have to search product websites directly for critical information), almost no customer reviews, and when you are looking for something in your area you have to search store by store .... only to be told store by store - sorry this item not available ... sigh. But worst of all, if you sign up to order online they do not delete your email or unsubscribe you from spammy, frequent emails despite multiple requests so to do by pressing the unsubscribe button, filling in the form and even including emailing that request to them specifically ... which request is still not been processed days later. Which is a great pity since otherwise they have great products at great prices but they really need to sort out their online shopping. I ended up phoning a small, family-owned store instead and got the entire order sorted quickly, delivered to my car and paid by credit card in the parking lot in these Covid times having utterly failed to order online from Builders after a good hour of fruitless endeavour in this regard.

Waiting online for your electrical department to answer... Please get your systems sorted out! Call the call center, they cannot help, transferred to the branch, operator cannot help, transferred to the department, they dont answer their phone. Absolutely useless!

What ever happened to Builders Riverhourse? It used to be a place of style and neatness were one would forget that you are in a hardware store.Recent visit and it looks like a mad house, no place to walk, stuff thrown on the floor, untidyness isnt the word. The check price scanners are Out_of_order or if it is on, dont scan at all. The people on the floor look dazed and lost cause things are moved around, so they not sure themselves. Price tags on shelves are missing, geeeez, whats going on?... What a sad store it has become.

Very well stocked hardware but I found some items very expensive compared to other hardware stores. The staff that helped me were very good however in some departments I had to go looking for someone to help me find things.

Builders warehouse have Down scaled the staff work force resulting in bad service. If anyone walks in not knowing where to look for, only help you would receive is the information desk who refer you to an aisle number, than you lost.You wont find a staff member or the products. So good luck, wasting precious time finding it....

They mixed up my order and when I approached them about the mistake they di I took them some time acknowledge their mistakes and take full responsibility for it. But after contacting their head office, my matter was handled accordingly. I was left a happy customer at the end.

Na Builders Warehouse, I dont think you will receive my business... Your website is horrendously slow, you insist on capturing my personal information before allowing me to browse your slow website. I am not happy. For example I can buy a LPG Gas cylinder (Cadac) from Builders but they cant fill the cylinder for me, that I have to take to another company to fill (the other company also can sell a cylinder to me and fill it)Then also look at the screenshot attached. The depictions are completely off. Whatever happened to QC? Dont you perform the most basic of checks before releasing. I know what angle iron is and it sure is not a tube. But what about the person who orders a tube but receives angle iron.If you dont up your game by getting the basic things right your market share is going to plummet

Absolutely unsatisfactory service. I enquired regards to isle/location of the product item i required, i was guided in a friendly manner. Upon my arrival at the building department my experience became a horrible one... the sales assistant behind the counter had no smile, didnt greet me, and very abruptly asked for the details of what i was looking for... after recieving the relevant info, he proceeded to peruse his P.C for atleast 5min, and finally tells me there isnt any stock.... when i enquire if there were similar items he then got onto the phone and spoke in a language not of my understanding for a further 5min. He then TOLD me to follow him. We proceeded into the store where i chose a similar item. Zero communication from this individual as he walked back to his work station, so i just followed him like a kid would follow their parent....My patience had been utterly tested, but i remained calm, as i did urgently need to item. Cash or card is what he barked at me next, after having printed a reciept out already.....to which i replied card, and his response is eish then goes back to his station so i could swipe my card..... Theres even more to this nasty experience but i will mention it, if/when a manager calls me about this review......

You have to hunt for a salesperson. As if they are trying very hard to avoid you...

Very badly organised, overhead signage vs actual items in the aisles are completely off, Electrical stuff falls under tiling, lights and fans falls under gardening, such a royal stuff up. Prices on the shelves do not at all match the items price at the till, they were out by 15.5% then the teller tries to treat you like you at lying. Very badly organised.

Went in to buy some equipment for my daughter who is in grade seven for some project, unfortunately for me they were out of stock but the staff really went out of thier way looking in other stores if they have stock and also suggested other stores around,the vicinity.

Only reason I am giving a high rating is because the one manager there made a world of difference. I went to collect an order having received the SMS notification. Only to find that there was actually no stock of one of the items I ordered. It took about 30 minuets for them to confirm this. The manager was called and he arranged to have the order to be collected from another builders where there was stock and to delivered free of charge to my house. With managers like that there must be something right there.

One stop hardware store...quick shopping, always have products in stock.

After Wardkiss closing its doors, driving a little further to Builders Warehouse in Riverhorse where they often had a wider range of tools, equipment and materials, was in order. I have been sadly disappointed by a recent purchase that saw me return 3 times with the same inferior product. After discussing this with one of the managers who offered me to buy the whole batch...at a price I might offer, which i did not want as I would not be able to use it. I had to return -again- the product I had just exchanged the day before that proved to be equally of inferior quality. This took another plus hour of my day and my petrol. I was of course angry...and went to check if the previous inferior batch had been removed as they were made aware of the problem. Amazingly, the batch was placed back on the shelf for sale and at the full price for an unwitting buyer. Now, why would I go back there again? Less competition means...I may have to go back there again...and I may once more have to buy an inferior product...and so on...

Good. Lots of staff walking around but not helpful to customers. All they seem to do is pack already packed shelves or move items from one spot to another instore.

Nice selection of items. Went in for a quotation prepared to spend R40 000. The salesman quoted me plastic bathroom items at R8000 for 3 bathrooms. I felt insulted but I love the shop. So make up your own mind.

This is great place for all round supplies. However the lighting is very poor in the lights department. Could hardly see any prices. Also lights were out in the marked down departments. Very poor visibility. Really disappointing for a builders store. Seems like the management is slack and dont take notice of these things. Parking is plentiful and safe. Well located.

Horrible, one cashier at the till points because the other cashier is walking around looking for bar codes for a customer, No prices on the shelves and when you looking for someone to give you a price, after finding a person, that person doesnt work in that department and will assist by finding someone who works in that department, only to never return. Take something off the shelf and find out by the till point that its not the price thats displayed next to the item, its more . Then the cashier still has the nerve to say, THERES NOTHING I CAN DO.

I wasnt very impressed at the store pricing , product displayed (,cornice )with incorrect shelf talk price . Staff was busy on the computer and not very helpful .An empty pallet was lying on the sales floor where the cornices were displayed , basically had to watch that my grandkids didnt trip over .Cashier was friendly.

Half there lights were off reducing visibility in the store, no over head signs for electrical and lightning sections of the store, and over half of the items there had no prices showing on the shelf or package or what few prices that were listed was the wrong price.I dont recommend this location theres other locations that are better than this one.So avoid this location unless you have no other choice or if they hopefully fix these problems

Such a great store with truly almost everything one might need in terms of building, home maintenance, gardening etc.However, Im not sure if they are working with a skeleton staff but it is difficult to find someone to even help. Furthermore the staff (when found) are rude and unwilling to offer assistance.This is based off 2 separate experiences at the store.

I will only ever go back to builders If I have no other option, staff are clueless, keep you waiting endlessly. I was told the board I needed cut and had already paid for was ready for collection, when I get there the guy hadnt even kept the board aside. Really poor service

Thanks Builders for a gr8 shopping experience. 3 visits in the last 2 weeks to 3 departments- had issues too but handled with patience and professionalism. Futhi Khumalo- a STAR. We didnt even mind the long wait. Team leader/manager even checked on us if we were attended to. Whilst waiting we also interacted with the plumbing dept. Here too customer care is not compromised. Even at checkout security measures are in place. They too are polite and thorough. Always a pleasure to shop at River Horse Nandi Drive!

Staff are disinterested in helping out with any requests nor taking customer with disabilities to the exact isle instead sent to another isle thats irrelevant and when confronted they say oh theres the isle just there... And they have limited knowledge of their products... This Management needs to haul them properly over the knuckles to be able to assist customers especially when they are disabled ♿

Its okay for a Builders Warehouse. I used to frequently shop at BW Centurion, Sunninghill, Fourways, Roodeport, etc. I find that Riverhorse Valley is understaffed. Staff are not as friendly and knowledgable. And more often than not, the store is understocked. Ive been here multiple times to find out that what Im looking for is not in stock. Edit: one of the worst branches in SA. Will send a formal complaint to HO when I get the time to do so. In the meantime, I suggest sending an area manager or Regional Manager to walk around the store incognito and hear all the people complain about the shocking and horrid service at this store. Not much effort involved, just simply talk a stroll between the different aisles, and one would surely hear around 3 to 5 complaints by unhappy customers within the first 5 minutes. Very sad state of affairs. To be fair, I did have awesome service from a handful of staff members who go out of their way to assist. The others are just bringing the store down. Management needs to relook at operations, or else the store will definitely close doors within the next year if they continue do business the way they do currently.
