I tried East Coast Barbers for a few months and, if Im being honest they are overrated. Yes, the cut was decent but, the overall experience is poor. From the dysfunctional booking system to the long waits and the favouritism towards regular customers, it’s just not worth it. If youre someone whose time is valuable and you want a professional experience from the moment you make a booking till the moment you leave the chair, there are better and more experienced barbershops in Durban.

Great work done by some talented barbers. 2 guys are in store to do cuts and trims and styles. Booking via phone call is essential as they get very busy. Prices are a bit high but you get good service and quality.

Curtis has been incredibly rude and arrogant. He has no sense of time management and certainly no customer care. Never keeps to time. Always with excuses and when questioned his line i dont feel like cutting your hair now bro! Unprofessional would be an understatement. And thats after making the customer wait over an hour.

What an experience. Definitely go and experience a tailor made appointment. Bear in mind you have to have an open day to see this barber as he has his standing appointments and he will fit you in as soson as the chair is available to do so. The barber that is there has quite a couple of years of experience in cutting and trimming beards without cutting the jugular vein LOL with those cut throats that he uses. But we ladies just have to take some rescue drops along. Hehehe (not really, but it does have a few anxious moments if you are not used to this treatment).The owner does have a few specials like dads and lads. But because I was the mother it didnt help me much LOL.Next time I am going to ask my husband to take my son for a trim. He really knows what he is doing. You will never forget your experience nor regret going there.
