Not open anymore just run down buildings

Once a top quality FLEAMARKET with a uniquestables theme, signage regarding top race horses, antiques, books, crafts, home shopping,toys, gifts, audio and various food and drink stalls and on stage singer artist on Sundays,now shut shop and supposed to be demolishedto make way for a football academy but today,with the launch of a new market on 73 at BereaRovers club, I took a closer look at the emptycomplex and met a guy who intends to completely rebuild, restore and then.by eitherDecember or January 2021, reopen this venueto the public as a whole new exciting betterand 7 days a week market that will becomea great attraction, if the project continuesand hopefully goes the distance and it willHave new features like open spaces, 300 stallsnew entertainment and activities for all andprobably better parking, security and whateverthey have in mind but as we get closer to theProposed opening, an artist’s impression ofwhat will be opening soon!The current new market will be held every Sunday and grow as it continues and eventuallyonce all is completed at the former venue thenthat market will move into the new under construction venue, returning the Stablesto a brand new but unique home!

Food court music is really great.

Great little market with stalls in the old horse stables.They always have live music. And they have a lot of food stalls to choose from with very reasonably priced food.There is also a bar so you can sit and relax and enjoy the live music while you enjoy your meal.This is one of our favour places to visit.

I love it. Theres something for everyone there with live music plenty of clothing stalls, antique stores and jewellery stores. Theres a craft store and plenty of places to eat. I love the samoosa stall, the variety they have on offer is amazing and always freshly cooked. Theres a tattoo stall and a bedding stall literally something for everyone.

You get to meet different people whilst strolling around the stables discovering lovely trinkets

Selling live animals in a market setting in those conditions is disgusting. Do better. As long as this continues, myself and my family will not support this market.

Such a vibe. Iconic place in Durban, been going here since I was a kid and its honestly always a great time. Could use a few more stalls but the ones that they do have are pretty rad. Bring lots of spare change!

Its a nice market with a variety of items on sale. Definitely requires more seating for the amount of people that attend market. I have however seen better markets in Cape Town

Amazing, vibrant flea market with unique stalls. Great fast food on offer. Alcohol available too. There are more stalls open on a Sunday. Love the used book and antique stalls. Not recommended to visit in inclement weather. Contrary to misleading media articles, the market is still in operation.

Vibrant and entertaining place to shop or just visit. Lots of bargains. Many food stall. Including a live band most of the time. Great outing on a Sunday afternoon for the entire family. Open Friday and Wednesday evenings aswell.

This place always has the best atmosphere! Many food stalls and a lot of interest stalls with many items. Entry is free and if you wish to just pop by for a walk and not buy stuff your visit is worth it. Just a nice place to be at.

There are wide range of products here that you can get it for less than half price and the music here is just amazing, they play classic rock and plenty of space for shopping. I just love it ;)

A great place with live music , booze and food... not forgetting the endless crafts for sale. Love it.

We went to karou charou to get samoosas on Hanuman jayanthi and after ordering potatoes samoosas the guys served us chicken and did not even apologize instead they were very rude and arrogant ...they replied well when u fasting dont eat out. My family and I were deeply appalled by their behaviour and we going to the press to Lodge a formal complaint.karou charou is the worst ever

Good vibe. Good selection of stalls and the food is great. Had the double cheese burger from braai shak with chilli sauce....wow. Highly recommended.

Luv this place , the vibe the music and of course the great choice in foods , from the lamb spit Braai to the little mini doughnuts... this usually is a great end to my weekend .

Awesome market, my highlight was the chicken and prawn bunny I had on lane 3 this past sunday(09-10-2016) Wont hesitate going back there for a quick chow!

Carry cash! No atms or snapscan etc. So if you arrive with your atm card chances are you may not be able to purchase food or items everywhere. Live music and vibe is great.

I have going there atleast once a month for the past 3 years and I love so do my family because it is fun place to take ur animals and have all the stall owners are nice accept for the new owners of the petshop other than the rude service they dont treat the animals with respect they have their baby snakes in little lunch boxes and if you go to play with the birds that they have out of cages they will not allow you to pet it to be honest i prefer the old owners they treated the animals and customers with respect
