Very nice place. Good scenery as well. Our room had such low water pressure that it took almost 10 minutes for hot water, if any, to come out - which is definitely a big damper on an otherwise good experience.

Pretty average spot. Nothing horribly wrong with the place – a bit cold and impersonal. But also nothing that really stands out about it either. If you need a stop for a night or two, be sure to request the newer units and youll be fine. For Dullstroom, its probably about as good as it gets. Otherwise, cant recommend staying here for a longer holiday.

Loved our stay at the Equestrian part of the estate. The views were magnificent, self catering cluster was new, welcoming and perfect for a little get away with the family. Beds are comfy and facilities are great! My only suggestions would be to ensure the sliding door glass remains clean so we can continue to appreciate the view from inside, all rooms need a heater, the lights outside the rooms should have a switch to turn them off as it emits too much light into the rooms at night, and perhaps a few extra towels for the amount of people it caters for. Other than that, we loved the fire place, the indoor braai was a hit and we will definitely be returning again. Thank you for having us

This was definitely not a good place to stay looks very good on the eye and looks like a good place.Staff is not friendly on 2 occasions we went to the restaurant and both times the staff just stood at the back of the restaurant and looked at us as if they dont want to help.Food is good but the staffs attitude will spoil your appetite.Rooms are not taken care of as the carpets are stained the paint on walls are patched with different colors of paint showers not clean and the toilet doesnt even have a seat to close. There are no times at any of the facilities. The entertainment center is very poor as it looks like there is no management involved to improve on thingsOverall we would not recommend or be visiting this place ever again...

Beautiful scenery. We did a nice hike and went horseback riding. The self-catering cottages are a bit rustic and the beds could use new (or better) mattresses. The bathtub doesnt have a shower curtain which makes showering a bit complicated. Interior decoration is basically non-existant. Be aware that self-catering really means you have to bring everything except towels, linens, dishwashing liquid and cloth. No spices, oil, wood or other small gestures some places offer these days. There is a small shop on the premises which offers these things though. Heating blankets were a nice thought. Next time I would rather opt for a room at the hotel - especially in winter.

This is 2nd stay at Dunkeld. Day 1: stayed at equestrian estate. Clean, nice. Good service at restaurant. Day 2: unfortunately we had to move to Woodlands no 1 due to booking. Old, cannot even be compared. Stop at the last chalet in the road, found 3 cleaning people there judt hanging out in stead of working. The chalet on the oyher side has at least 10 people pkahing loud music. BUT, across the valley there is loud music coming non-stop from 1 km away!! Tranquility not here.....

The scenery and animal wildlife are breathtaking and so serene. Enjoyed it. There are many renovations going on but many parts of the estate are unkempt and untidy. Unfortunately the lodge that we stayed in was extremely cold at night and the fireplace didn’t help at all probably because the lounge and kitchen space is big and couldn’t heat the space. A gas heater is thus an absolute must as being so cold at night was so uncomfortable that we wanted to actually leave early. The carpets in the bedrooms also had a lot of stains. The chicken dishes at the 1883 restaurant were very poor as the chicken was hard and overcooked.

The estate is beautiful and well kept with plenty to do. My only gripe is that the roads in the Estate are too narrow for 2 cars to pass each other, and is not well signposted so as to find your way around the Estate. And lastly the area where our chalet was had absolutely no bird life, maybe due to the numerous Ferrell cat population in the area.

This is my favourite accommodation in Dullstoom. I love it here. It is beautiful. The dams are always stocked with fish, hiking trails are beautiful and I love the forest and mountain walks.Sadly, the place is looking a bit run down and some maintenance is required. 🤔 This has always been a 5 star place for me, but I am giving 4 stars now because of the state of the accommodation. I hope Dunkeld will do something about it and fix it up a bit since this is a venue I am considering getting married at.

One cannot even describe it as poor..it was pathetic. It was a very dirty unit. The check-in hapened at 3.20pm so there was no excuse at the resort has check-in at 3pm• Unit had a revolting smell throughout• No clean towels or pillow cases• Oven and stove greasy• TV screen greasy• The windows did not look clean as the sun was shining against them• Kitchen cupboard door was falling off its hinges• Material couches were very badly stained as were the dining chair seats• Patio not cleaned at all• u0007General maintenance of the unit was pathetic and its state was obviously not a recent condition. No sanitising was done for Covid as one can smell it when it is done, as twas experienced at Monateng Resort• u0007The reception area: when opening the sliding door to get in it was filthy at the handle where everyone touches it. (So much for Covid sanitising!)What really bothers me is that Dunkeld is listed in the current THC catalogue as a 4 rating by The Holiday Club. The result of the above dismal conditions resulted in seeking alternative accommodation at Dullstroom Accommodation in the village. What bothers me is THCcontinue to make bookings for members despite Dullstroom Accommodation reporting compalints to Dunkeld and The Holiday Club. Dullstroom Accommodation does not book Dunkeld anymore and has not for quite a while. My impression of The Holiday Club has been tarnished, and I am now concerned about how existing and future business is being managed by the club.

Not as advertisedThe chalet ws homey but not clean. Activities were advertised and then taken off there services. The reception is far from the adventure centre and you have to travel up and down to access and pay for different things. The Adventure centre employees are rude and late. Had to wait over an hour for zip lining which we ended up canceling coz we couldnt wait anymore, then the guy finally came 15 min later to fight with us in front of the equestrian stables on why we canceled. No apologies given. A great view of zebra who come right to the chalet back yard, but they also poop there so you cant really walk around. A little cold but enjoyed making a 🔥 with the family and cuddling in front of it at night.Always amazing to go away for a week with the family. But wouldnt go back for holiday again.

The chalets were not up to standard. The first chalet we stayed in was smelly and had bugs running around. They moved us to another which was slightly better. The stove hob was very hold and had only 2 plates. The couch was also very old and uncomfortable. Had only 1 chair to sit on. The only plus was the lovely helpful Dorothy in the restaurant, she was a star. An asset and hope she goes far in her career. The Holiday club accommodation was a great disappointment, and we had no applogies for the waste of our points. We were told it was a luxury resort when we booked.

We stayed over for a weekend in a 2 bedroom self catering unit/cottage. Our unit was called the Kingfisher. The location was picture perfect as we were directly in front of the lake. The unit itself was very dated inside. We were six, n our unit only had one bath with a hand held shower n separate toilet. The bath itself was old , discoloured and gringy with black / damp around it. I would rate the unit very low as it was on the level of a two star . The place was a lil musty n not cleaned properly, lots of webs by windows n around the blinds. The actual estate is beautiful. Its picturesque. 10/10. The horse feeding was awesome n the kids enjoyed it. Their restaurant was a let down . We waited very long for our food which was bland , disappointing n expensive ( R65 per prawn...yes per prawn for a normal size prawn). Its better to eat in the town.

We have enjoyed our stay me and my family. The houses are beautiful even inside. Second day we were without water but was fixed after some time. The problem there is that the cleaners dont take efforts, they were not using the hoover on my carpet, they dont shift sofas to clean underneath. Or maybe is not of them but the two who came to our house were doing something always on the hurry. There was a spider web behind the door at the corner when we arrive,we left still there. Cleaners should take efforts. We were also disappointed with the Spa, everytime we call for a booking, were fully booked.Otherwise our stay was great. I would go again and refer someone there.
