Went for the curry at Thava so didnt see much of the rest of the hotel so cant comment on that - the curries were different, the service was really good but overall on a value for money basis, left me pretty cold

Im am saying this from the point of view of a guest of a wedding I attended. I didnt enjoy being seated outside in the blistering sun for the duration of the wedding ceremony. The venue is beautiful though. Juice was served after the ceremony but they were not enough for everyone. We were made to wait out in the sun with no seating for 1.5 hours before the reception began.

This was my fathers, and grandfathers temple, the guru is amazingly accommodating and a pleasure to spend time with. As one of the last historic landmarks in SA with regards to Tamil culture and religion this role.os perfect. Only the snobs go to the white temple up the road😂

This quaint stay is beautiful for a weekend away. Great views of the ocean from restaurant. The food at the restaurant is very good. They make a great curry dish.Entrance to the venue is not very inviting.

Great accomadation

This venue offers an amazing and affordable venue for functions and special occasions. Catering will be tailored to your needs and they will add in the special touches to suit your budget. Having Thava on site means that the meals are delicious. Service is Fantastic and waiters are very thoughtful.

Situated on the beach front next to Zimbali. The Boat House is a boutique hotel close to Compensations restaurants. The Boat House also includes Thava Indian restaurant and a lovely day spa to be pampered. The Boat House is often used a wedding venue.

The location of the place is the one that stands out. Never got a chance to get inside the guest rooms,but just the common areas. The beach is right at the doorstep. It could be improved to offer more. Otherwise nice place to chill or host corporate events.

Beautiful boutique hotel with stunning ocean views. I have used their conference facilities as a guest speaker for many academic functions, and have almost been met with professional service. The beautiful and spacious setting has also hosted our baby shower; and again; I was extremely impressed with the assistance from the staff, as well as the perfect venue. Whether its a formal, academic or social event; or if you want to experience the excellent restaurant, I highly recommend to all.

Beautiful venue for weddings and parties.They serve nice food but the seafood didnt taste fresh.Front desk staff were friendly and welcoming.Their sleeping facilities are very lovely, the balcony boasts breathtaking seaviews.

This hotel is without any doubt the very best hotel/guesthouse in the area. I would at any given time book the boat house before choosing the likes of holiday inn or other international hotel chains. The location is perfect everything is in walking distance the staff are super friendly and helpful the quality of rooms are great. I have been a refining customer for almost 2 years and Every time I arrive it feels like coming to my second home. I think the nest way to put my message over is.Even if they tried any harder it would not be possible to improve on perfection it is top class service without you as a customer ever feel they put on an act to try and please you they just do what it takes to run a really nice hotel. I can only praise this hotel they are top of the range in every single way possible.I hardly ever recommend anything to friends and family but this place is a must visit if you ever go to Ballito it just doesnt get any better.

The Boathouse is a superb venue with excellent food choices. I love the meditiranian and Indian menu... Love taking visitors there. Food and service always top class.

The Boathouse is a lovely setting for a wedding. Please consider another venue if you want organisation and a stress free experience. My father has taken ill with cancer and we wanted a wedding sorted quickly. We were trying to sort from London. The wedding coordinator caused us so much worry as there was very little communication and response to emails. We booked a Friday afternoon eventually and the price kept fluctuating. When I got to the venue 3 days before- we discussed finalities- which in the end had many hidden costs I didnt even know about. Ask for clarity. My parents wanted to pay for the wedding and were given last minute instructions to pay IN FULL or the wedding was off. Again...ask for clarity. We were unaware of this through all our correspondence. It placed major stress on my family. Karma will prevail. The food was average- we had canapes and drinks on the deck. DJ they recommended was nothing short of awful- please get your own. The guests loved the venue and it was beautiful weather on the day. I hope you find this helpful in your planning

My favorite place in the whole world !!However some might not like it as there are a lot of changes .I like it because it has grown on me.Staff is very friendlySpa next doorRestaurant doesn’t belong to hotel anymore but is individual run and is now a Indian restaurant. Breakfast buffets not to impressive but you have a pool and a beach right in fron and listen to the waves every night .I love it here

Nice place , just the staff is abit slow

It was my daughters wedding at the Boathouse during August 2016. We were assured of the best service as we are from Gauteng and had to rely on management and staff. What a disappointment!! Boathouse employ incompetent suppliers. The lady that handled the décor side was totally incompetent. The wedding not only started an hour late due to the fact that she was not prepared. The beach set-up was not done. The flowers were a joke, really did the opposite of what I asked for..... and the list goes on .......... During the ceremony management spoke to me personally and told me that they were so sorry about Lisa (the décor-lady) stuffing up the wedding as she witnessed it all. In the mean time they only tried to keep my calm during the ceremony not to upset their other clients visiting the Boathouse at that stage..... All kind words but afterwards could not stick to their promises. They deducted monies from the deposit for broken glasses (which did not happen). In fact, one of their waiters slipped and broke the glasses. It was supposed to be my daughters dream day which turned out to be a disaster.

The worst experience. Ever. Dont recommend the Boathouse to anyone .Everything is geared towards making money even where u dont think possible. Imagine paying R1000 for coffee (Ricoffy) and tea well its a reality at the Boathouse. So if you are having a function there please reconsider.

Lunch at the Thava Restaurant is a real treat for those with an Indian pallet.
