Beautiful Farm excellent to get a good workout and also excellent for beginners who want to build stamina for longer MTB trails.

Best bike park close to Jozi to put in distance without killer elevation gain. Green track 11km nice flat jeep tracks and a small amount of easy optional single track. Blue trail 22km more climbs and single track, but still a great place to train.Best for small novice groups from 7am to 11am over weekends. Tends to empty out completely from 12 noon. Be prepared to deal with muddy patches even in dry season.But the smoothest, easiest, widest, flattest racks for beginners to work up to 30-40km. And black and red plenty tricky for masters wanting to ride technical sections and get in 70km or so, without killer elevation gain.Great outdoor coffee shop. Best expert bike wash chain clean and lube at R35.... I dirty my bike elsewhere, then ride NF and go to the bike wash for a sparkling bike.

We just love Northerns, close enough to hope over for a cycle, far enough out to be totally enveloped in nature. Just an amazing environment with amazing trails.

What makes this place so great is that the routes are very versatile, you could start on the one route and mix over to another. Making this your own route and a a ride that you enjoy. Once you get to know the routes you can cut out parts you dont like and repeat parts that you really enjoy. Once again making this a really great place to go train and enjoy your weekend.

Safe and beautiful trails! A mixture of jeep and flowing single tracks. Some rocky sections on the red and black trails but overall a little bit of something for everyone.My best place to ride my MtB around JHB

Beautiful ride!

Very smooth trail. Loved the red trail. As an intermediate rider the climbs were enough to heat up the legs but not kill you. The home stretch is flat bt will still give u a burn after 30 plus kms of cycling

Lekker mountain bike riding area. Quite busy last Sunday morning, but helps if you have a problem out in the fields. Super quick over the yumps on the way out, but about a four km slow poison to get back to the carpark no matter which route you take.

Loved, great people, freah air and a good cercuit for beginners to experts

Great tiding spot with varying levels of distance and difficulty.The routes are well marked and there is security in place all around the farm ensuing a safe and enjoyable ride.Good food & coffee afterwards and a reasonably priced bike wash makes this place a winner in my books.

Very social, spacious place to ride. I enioyed my first ride there, fellow riders would check in as they passed us when we stopped for breaks, very encouraging. Trails are well labeled and the move between the farmlands, dense vegetation and flat lands gives a rush and challenge but its worth it.

Well kept trails and facilities. What a great idea for a proper mtb experience not too far out of the city. The trails are great for beginner cyclists as well.

Always a great experience. Open spaces and hardly see people on the tracks so its great for social distancing

The big board with all the different trails needs updating or removing, I went to do the purple trail, as per the board it was 22km, found out 35km in that the new purple trail is actually 53km,nobody was prepared for that distance, ran out of snacks and water, luckily there were other trail users who were very friendly and shared as much as they couldall and all it was quite the adventure, will be back😁

Great spot for mountain biking. I feel the facilities can be bettered at the main facility. Investors are needed to take the facility to the next level. But I emphasise the mountain biking experience is excellent.

Northern Farm Nature Reserve (also known as the Diepsloot Nature Reserve) is one of Johannesburg’s best-kept secrets and offers over 2500ha of beautiful green grasslands and woodlands to explore. There are several dams in the reserve as well as 270 different bird species (incl. a breeding pair of fish eagles).Many different recreational users i.e. cyclists, horse riders, hikers and birders enjoy relaxing in the open space and clean air of the farm.It’s a great family outing and offers safe and secure parking at the clubhouse, where toilet, shower and braai facilities are available.Northern Farm is only open on weekends and public holidays.Tickets can either be purchased on line at webtickets or can be purchased at the main gate of the farm from 06:00 to 15:00 on weekends and public holidays.MOUNTAIN BIKE TRAILSNorthern Farm is a mountain biker’s dream with a wide range of different terrains suitable to everyone from beginners to Competitive cyclists in an environment safe and suitable for the whole family. You’ll cycle past farmland and dams, and also through lush, green areas.Cyclists can select their own route according to their experience. All of the routes are well marked and easy to follow while riding your bike. The pink kids’ route is 8km long, while the rest range from an easy 12km to a very challenging 62km with many obstacles.

Decent setup, good trails that are marked well. So far safe no issues with parking and riding...

Beautiful scenery, wide open hiking space, obstacle courses available according to your fitness threshold.

All the signage is still in place after lockdown, some nice wooden additions around 25km on the red loop that stop you picking up mud. Tons of loose sand in certain sections, hopefully a good rain will wash it away. Red loop: 36.5km, 357m climbing.

Fantastic MTB trails.... variety of levels, difficulty, technicality, flexibility with routes, can mix and match. Loving the red route, approximately 35km. So much fun! Only a bit smelly, due to river/ area, but to be expected. During lockdown, would recommend that you book in advance online, user-friendly site. Would highly recommend.

Good mountain biking venue.

Although mainly for MTB riders Northern Farm is also offers walking trails for those just wanting a leisurely walk in the countryside or for keen birders as the bird life we saw around 07h30 in June 2020 was amazing. The old unused sewerage dams are home to a myriad of duck and geese species and we saw many other bird species in the space of 2 and a half hours.The COVID-19 restrictions make an 8-9km walk the limit at present however when the restrictions are eventually lifted, a longer walk will be possible.Looking forward to going back sometime. Note: No dogs allowed.

Beautiful farm to ride around at ones leisure.

THE CYCLING VENUE in Gauteng. Kilometres of trails for the inexperienced up to professionals riders, young and old. The road to get here from the east of Johannesburg is what completely throws me off. Government really has to do something about the road through Diepsloot with all those potholes.

Had a very fun ride, very nice scenery and track is marked very well, after the ride the bikes were washed another great service. I will return to challenge other routes on offer!

Perfect for agricultural activities

Northern Farm MTB park has a good trail network that caters to riders of all levels.A good mix of jeep and single-track.There are no monster climbs or super technical bits, but the trails are well thought out and maintained and make for a good riding experience.They have a small restaurant which serves breakfast rolls and youre able to get a good coffee.

Really awesome place to go and cycle close proximity. Very well maintained and all routes are clearly marked. There is a nice variety between farm track and single track, a little bit of something for everybody. They also have really nice race events throughout the year!!!🚵‍♂️💪
