We only visited for a breakfast so can’t really comment on the accommodation and facilities. The deck overlooking the Vaal Dam made for a great viewing spot. Food was good as was the service. Not only were the waiters efficient, they were very friendly and went the extra mile to sort out any extras that we requested.

What a amazing awesome place best service friendly staff always willing to go the extra mile definitely the place to go for a relaxing experience beautiful chalets with the best views.

Worth a visit if you are in Deneysville. One of the better restaurants in the area. Food was good. Only 1 waiter/manager who tried his best to service the tables. Food was served cold and the starters were forgotten. Feel for the guys - they tried. Hoping service improves once things settle down.

Decent place to stay however, I would prefer that the public not be allowed into the lodging area. Smoke from the general publics braais blew into our rooms, but when we asked them to move they were obliging and moved elsewhere. Cleanup was needed on plates and utensils, but generally, lappa was good. I would like to see more vegan/vegetarian options in the restuarant, but I realize thats asking a lot. I might have had a different experience if I had been in the lappa on the other side.We were all concerned about the professionalism of the owner since some of the replies to the reviews on the google review page are quite scathing. Maybe thats why I would return. We all had a good laugh at the savage replies. Despite enjoying my time away, I would not return as it is more of a once in-a-lifetime kind of place.But defs worth a try, nice in the evening when the public leaves.

Kids enjoyed a fun filled Easter at Anchors. Thank you for the Easter egg hunt, they met lots of new friends and enjoyed the playpark, peddle boats and icecream treats. Very sad faces to say goodbye to all the holiday friends.Thank you Angelique and team🌺

Supa tranquil. Loads to do, fun to be had across the board, for the young and old. Spotless restaurants within the area. Great food very affordable. Boat rides, fishermens paradise, loads of fun for the kids, fun rides and water slide.

A lovely place to stay men were 🎣 all the time, the restaurant was fantastic enjoy drinks and had a lovely chicken schnitzel and bunny chows.Angelique was very friendly and hospitality. I can definitely recommend this place to anyone.

We wonderful place to get away for a weekend. All age groups are there so very easy to connect with people. Owners are very friendly and are available at all times. Camp site is also great right by the vaal water.Will definitely be going back. Boet rides, fishing, swimming pool as well as braai stands all at your use.

Enjoyed our stay at Anchor Creek, staff was very friendly, nice safe place for kids, fishing is challenging but can also be very rewarding, caught a PB barbel of 24 lb, patience is the key

Service absolutely slow.. And the food was really not good. The toasted chicken was very oily and it tasted of old oil. It took an hour for 2 toasted sandwiches was not worth the wait.......

We rode out to Anchor creek for breakfast today. The place was tidy, food good and service was great. The toilets were disgusting. One was blocked, one had no seat and the one I used did not flush. The mens toilet as per my hubby stank. This is not hygienic especially for a lady. This is not the first time I found the toilets disgusting

Food was cold and no wheelchair accessible toilets, and none of the toilets can flush, stink and dirty.

Great place to relax and take your kids to have fun, but not good for fishing, there is very limited space to fish, I understand it is because of the dam being full and all that, sad thing is you pay a lot for your Lapa to stay in and the campers take over the fishing spots, not very nice, but otherwise good ace to rest.

Not a place we will return too...The bacon in the restaurant is not edible. We ordered the breakfast which had the bacon in and our son ordered the toasted sandwich. We were asked about our food experience and the criticism was not received well.We booked for a week and the chalet was not equipped with all it said it was. A lot of buildings rubble laying around which resulted in an injury. The management and maintenance needs attention.

Was a good weekend staying there. Very simple and old place some of the venues offers are not available but still a good place. Really affordable rates

Nice place to go for the day and relax while children enjoy the water and rides. The rides could do with a price drop thought. Unfortunately the pricey rides takes this place from a 5 star to a 3 star.

It suks spider snakes no fishes and the worlds crappiest to live by now Id go home would give it a 0 but its impossible

Very small camping area. Day visitors take over the swimming pool. Gate not closed at night so you dont feel very safe. Fishing wasnt great as there was so many rocks. Ablution facilities were not cleaned often enough and it was shared with day visitors who left it in a state and smelling awful. Young teenage campers spent the whole day smoking in the bathroom making it unpleasant for us and our children. We felt we overpaid for what we got.

I found Anchor Creek to be a clean, pleasant place with excellent fishing and braai facilities. Our cabin was basic but had everything we needed, although a table wouldve be nice. We spent hours on our cabin deck looking out on the river. We will definitely come for a second visit.....

Great for camping, too much rocks though (building rubble on the side of the camping site and in the dam). Lost alot of hooks and sinkers. That side must be cleaned from all the building rubble and a little more attention to the cleanliness. Overall OK

I had the best time despite the attitude we got from the old lady in the reception when were asked about boats.she never gave us a chance to even talk.all thanks to the guys that works outside. U are the best!!!

Campers beware. This place is filthy. Theres broken glass and rubbish everywhere. The camp sites and fishing area have lots of building rubbish. The noise of the day visitors is unbearable. The toilet facilities are shared for campers and day visitors. There was urine and feces all over the toilets. There are no latches on the doors so expect people to walk in on you. The owner was very abusive too. We lost over R20000 on our holiday because they refused to refund us. We left after 2 nights. Carl sent us lovely looking pictures in an email and told us how nice the place was. It was nothing like the description. We will never return to Deneysville. Edit: Friends of ours went to Anchor Creek today 23 Dec and saw other campers on our site. I then phoned Carl to try and get a refund again but again he refused. Stating that if we leave he doesnt have to give us a refund and he can put other people on our camp site.

Very poor service today. I ordered fish and chips from the menu just to be told they to busy and I need to use the single menu. Fair enough.... ordered 9 burgers and milk shakes with one coffee. Took an hour to receive the milk shakes and another 20 min for the coffee. All in all we were their for over 2 hours and have not received the burgers. We eventually paid for the milk shakes and coffee and left to eat at another place. Really disapointed today. Wont be back again........

Absolutely rubbish place. Thanks to this resort our December holiday was ruined. Its open to day visitors that gets to use same facilities as the campers that pay high fees. Toilets disgusting, bathroom doors dont lock, could not use the pool as day visitors took over and couldnt behave. It was dirty and not to mention the glass and rubbish we picked up. The fighting and swearing from day visitors, not except able. The owner is so not bothered about any of the complaints and he is very unreasonable. This place is damn awful!!

Bed linen disgusting., after we asked Carl the owner if we should bring our own. place poorly maintained. Very dirty accomodation and this place with the view could be a very gòod weekend away for a family if better run and more attention paid to the basics.

We come here for the last 10 years if you are a person who wants to breakaway from your daily routine then this is the place to be. Lovely people Carl and Joani. Lovely food and a close place to paradise without the devil. Thanks Carl and Joani.

Theyre really striving to give visitors something to do in an otherwise sleepy town. No frills, but things on offer.

We did not have a pleasant experience at the Anchor Creek Marina and will not be a returning customer. Firstly the stands are not situated well. There are lots of stones which looks like building rubble on the bank of the dam and walking into the dam is very difficult. There are only 3 stands right next to the dam.Not all activities that were advertised were available.We supported the restaurant with disappointment. We ordered a garlic and cheese roll which was R28. The roll firstly came without the cheese secondly it was smaller than a hamburger roll you would purchase at PNP for R1,50. The mark-up on the garlic roll was probably R20 (or more). Their prices are extremely high considering the value you get for what you pay. The bathrooms including the showers are shared with the resorts staff. They occupy the showers 7:30 in the mornings when the guests would like to make use of the showers. Not all the taps on the resort are in working order. The place are definitely not managed properly and are in need of some maintenance as well as order.

Restaurant on the waterfront with a few wooden chalets that can be booked. Nice fishing area and small playground for children.

Nice if you are out on the water and want to stop for a quick bite or drink.Usually out of things like ice cream or certain drinks. Also battle if a few tables show up together so just chill and enjoy the view.There are carnival rides in the back and a super tube that you can use if you pay.

Not child proof. Things are not maintained at all. No security. Gates dont close. They see nothing wrong from their side.
