I recently had the absolute pleasure of spending some quality time at Impangele Mountain Lodge and all I can say is WOW!!! The setting was unbelievable, the views truly amazing, the accommodation was more than comfortable, but the hospitality and service was truly out of the top draw. I have traveled to many remote areas, but what really blew me away completely were the hosts / management team, Connor & Amelie. It has been a long time since I met such enthusiastic and passionate individuals... Kudos to you guys for an unbelievably incredible stay... As Arnold once said Ill (definitely) be back!

What an awesome getaway! Every unit sleeps 4 people comfortably, stove, microwave, fridge, braai... love that it’s extremely pet friendly and beach pool, with a lovely clubhouse! There are only 5 units, so you can get together with friends and book the whole place for an awesome party! Definitely going back! ❤️❤️

While the dirt road might prove a challenge to low cars, even cars with basic clearance can move their way up to this hidden gem. With stunning views and well equipped facilities this is an excellent place to go away for medium size vacations with friends and family.

We booked the Easter Weekend (2021) last year in September 2020 and paid only to be informed the night before that a double booking was made. Long story short, we are not welcome anymore. The least the owner could have done is to provide alternative accommodation for the 17 people that booked, but no, it is easier to say sorry, I can not help you. AND off course we are still waiting for the refund... more than 7 days later. Would not recommend Impangele Mountain Lodge at all. UPDATE: 16 April 2021, STILL WAITING ON MY REFUND. WONDER WHAT HAPPEN TO THE MONEY I PAID, WHY CANT THE MONEY THAT I PAID NOT BE PAID BACK TO ME.... PROBALLY USED FOR SOMETHING ELSE. We all make mistakes, we usually measure a business on how quick they recover or correct the mistake that was made. Something else must be going on here. Truly horrific, terrible service. UPDATE, 26/04/2021, STILL WAITING ON OUR REFUND. LOOKS LIKE THE ONLY OPTION IS TO GO TO THE POLICE AND REPORT THE DISHONESTY/THEFT BY IMPANGELE MOUNTAIN LODGE. IT IS CLEAR THAT YOU DO NOT WANT TO PAY OUR MONEY BACK.

We had a confirmed booking over easter weekend at Impangele, which was made long in advance. We were informed today that they will not be able to accommodate us. This is less than 24 hours before we were supposed to arrive. Obviously it is now impossible to find alternative accommodation for this weekend and we are going to be spending it at home after months of planning and looking forward. Thank you impangele for destroying our easter weekend! If you would like to be certain of your holiday plans, rather book somewhere other than impangele. They will leave you stranded at the last minute.

Horrible Regrettable Decision to waist our time with this super unprofessional place! We are a group of 20 people that made use of a special that this place ran in September. We booked for easter weekend. The night before we are to arrive, the guy calls and explains that there was a double booking and that we cant come any more. THE NIGHT BEFORE!!!!Everybody has already started packing and have already bought all the supplies needed for four nights.Isnt it just really convenient that someone else paid the full price and we made use of a special and then we get shown the door?

HOW SECURE IS YOUR NEXT BOOKING SINCE THE SAME COULD HAPPEN TO YOU!We had a horrific experience with Impangele where we booked for the whole Easter weekend for 20 people and the manager phones less than 24h prior to arrival that there was a double booking.People flew down to CT to join us, costs where incurred, bags were pack, just to get a nonchalant response: “These things happen...”As to make matters even worse, the manager now has a million excuses for why he has not refunded us. More than 2weeks have since past and the excuses are still running in. The shear manner in which we were and are treated, questions business etiquette.

We booked two thatched chalets for a birthday for one night and had a super time in this rustic mountain lodge which overlooks scenic farmlands and allowed us to relax and simply enjoy the beauty and the occasion : swimming, braaiing, dancing and chilling. Elphas the caretaker is helpful and we felt safe as there is an alarm and he lives nearby. The road up to the lodge is quite hectic and a 4x2 or 4 is probably recommended, although there were normal sedan vehicles up there. We should have booked for two nights to really make the most of the lodge, but we intend to go back in the future. Excellent value for money

We had a lovely three days at Impangele Mountain Lodge in October 2020. The site and self catering chalet was neat and clean, but not upmarket and suited for people who like the outdoors. The setting is beautiful and peaceful with magnificent views. I saw about 4 or 5 chalets. Booking by Whatsup was easy and Rosemary always answered all my whatsup messages with clear instructions. The caretaker on duty Elphas was very friendly and helpful. You must ride slowly on the gravel road and I went with my car. Before you take the trip up the mountain make sure you visit the Veldskoen Padstal. Take everything you need because once there it is best to stay where you are as the trip down the mountain takes 30 minutes.

Such an amazing experience. The views are absolutely amazing. Sunrises and sunsets are such a sight to be hold. Amazing place to bring dogs and all of the profits they make go towards a dog sanctuary which makes the stay that much more enticing.

Beautiful and tranquil location. Fresh water pool. Grounds are well kept. The chalet couldve been cleaned slightly better for us as the next guests. The admins you book with arent there, but the Groundsman/Caretaker is always accessible and seems a nice guy. Be prepared to sleep with huge lizards in the chalet (you may find fresh droppings on the floor in the morning!). The drive up can be a bit nerve-wracking as its up a sloped mountain road, mostly only wide enough for 1 vehicle (although we managed with a light hatchback). An amazing escape for our family.

Loved our 4 night stay. The views are stunning across the entire Hex river valley. We had beautiful weather, and awesome sunrises and sunsets. Its a place for nature lovers - fascinating Karroo vegetation and great hiking and mountain bike trails. Highly recommend the historical 2 tunnel trail - quite long (20 kms there and back) but well worth it. Some ups and downs but mostly next to old railway tracks so the gradient is gentle. There are also some 4 x 4 trails. The access road is a long gravel road so dont plan on heading to town every day! Normal cars are fine but in places you need to take it slow and easy and enjoy the ride (and the views) The huts are cool and comfortable with all you need for 4 people. The beds were good - we did have mosquitoes at night so take some repellent! The clubhouse has a beautiful cool pool and facilities to braai, gas oven/stove, fridge etc to cater for groups booking out the entire facility (20 plus)

A peaceful getaway on a mountaintop with panoramic views of a picturesque valley. This is a real gem offering a well kitted clubhouse with pool, DSTV, kitchen and bathroom facilities. The location is remote and access via a steep gravel roads requires a vehicle with good ground clearance. The living accommodations are rustique but needs an upgrade and some repairs. Ensure that all your shopping is done before hand. Really worth the visit.

We were a family of 4, looking forward to a much needed relaxed weekend away from the city, apon arrival we had a NIGHTMARE of a road to drive luckily we have a 4x4 automatic otherwise we would have never managed this road in a low profile tyre car. We were greated by caretaker upon arrival. This weekend was suppose to be hiking, swimming and braaing, on the Saturday we couldnt access the braai / pool area the area was closed off with another car that was blaring loud music all day and nobody could access the pool area because there was another taxi that had arrived with a load of people, who where kind enough to throw beer tins out the windows into the fynbos! We then headed into the town for a game of golf and lunch at Veldskoen Padstal (a little gem), and a hike! Management does not come out to the cottages to meet and greet guests, hence people do as they please while out there!

When you a family of 5 you battle to find affordable places to take your family to. Imagine my surprise when I saw Impangele lodge and the price per night for a family of 4. I booked and even got a plan made for the 5th member of my family. If you need to re-connect with your teens and tweens this is the ideal place to take your kids. Pure family time..... pure bonding time. The rooms is very nice and the pool was perfect and the whole family could enjoy the cool water on a very hot day. Braai facilities is neat and ideal located. Thanks to owners Duncan and Rose And of cause Elvis for the Lekker chats . Will do this anytime soon.

We are extremely disappointed. We were looking forward to a quiet weekend away. My kids were looking forward to swimming in the swimming pool as advertised. The owners didnt disclose that they rented the facilities out for a year end function. We realised this early in the morning as people started arriving by taxi. They only left the evening. We couldnt use the swimming pool as the people were having their year end function there. On another note, the 5km dirt road is not suitable for normal cars. We had to drive between 10-20km / hour not to damage our car.
