Absolutely amazing service. Even though the tasting room was closed, they still accommodated us and allowed us to buy some wine. Can definitely recommend their Sexy Shiraz!
Hidden gem just a few km outside of Darling. Our hostess Nicole was fantastic. She went above and beyond. Wide range of wines to taste. I highly recommend the Bordeaux blend as well as the Cab sav.
THE VERY SEXY SHIRAZ - Darling 2018 by Cloof is a nice wine... easy on the palate, but the sediment was disappointing.
5 Km gravel road to the farm, speciality is red wine, but still good white wines to taste and enjoy.
Visited Cloof today for first time..extremely impressed...left with 12 bottles of pinotage and 12 mixed selection.....tonight we are sampling the Duckitt 2018 Chardonnay chilled and superb....
Very friendly host and beautiful farm. The white wine not as nice as the Stellenbosch wine district, more dry but everyones taste differ
Do not come here if it’s a spur of the moment thing. Came here without making a booking and were the ONLY ones in the place. Wanted to use The Entertainer App only to be told we must make an advanced booking and got turned away. Have heard good things about the platters but won’t be coming back ever to give them a try.
Was there for the vintage sale and it was great. Good wine decent priced. Beware of the roadworks on N7. Google maps will take you in Circles.
A little bit off the beaten track but well worth the effort of finding it. Only tasted wine, a good experience from a knowledgeable lab tech. Liked most of the lower range wines, did not taste the premium range. They also offer picnic platters (not tasted that).
Very friendly service at the tasting room.
This wine estate is definitely worth a visit . Tracey was super friendly and extremely knowledgeable and went out of her way to ensure my kids were comfortable while I was busy with the wine tasting. I had not heard of these wines before as this is not a large estate and they are not available in major retail stores like Pick ‘n pay , but having tasted them now and leaving with 2 cases, I am sure this will be a regular favourite . If in the Darling area, it’s worth your while visiting.
Meeting the owners and winemakers at wine estates is often an opportunity to engage in philosophical discussions about the miracle that is wine. At Cloof yesterday, this time for a Valentines day picnic prepared by Chef Robyn and including a bottle of the 2014 MCC, was no exception. Well into the 2020 harvest and having to deal with the vageries of the current SA power supply situation, wine maker Hennie never the less took the time to chat with us on the lush and shady front lawn. On hearing that he has set aside an amount of Sauv Blanc juice for an exclusive (20 slots only) wine making course starting March, I immediately signed up! Looking forward to spending more time at this unpretentious gem in the Darling wine region.
Great location for Daisies.... In loving the pond. On other news the wine is great! Get a bottle and you are sorted
Beautiful wine farm, I only visit the farm during Rocking The Daisies, which is an amazing festival catering for the youth of South Africa.
Had the picnic and it was lovely, we got an assortment of cheeses, fresh sour dough bread, meats, salads, and great wine! Our blanket and pillows were under the trees on the lawn overlooking the grass, perhaps a suggestion would be to include use of the pool on the lawn as well, think this would be quite a unique feature and attraction!
My wife & I visited Cloof wine estate today on our way home from Langebaan. We pre booked The Entertainer Meat and cheese platter yesterday (this option is required). we were greeted by Robin who has recently taken over from Robin. She was the perfect host. Our platters were outstanding with freshly baked good, cheeses, biscuits, cold meats, fruits and more. A glass of their special reserve chenin blanc rounded off a very relaxing and enjoyable visit. well worth a visit. We will be back.
Their wines are lovely. Toffee pairing was interesting and yummy. Wines are well priced for such good quality.
Home of ROCKING THE DAISIES - great venue and beautiful during the flowering time of year. Worth the drive... do it
