Even though I am not a wine drinker, I enjoyed the lovely platter for 2!

Just the most amazing place to go to. The Ormonde Merlot the best in the West. Food just fabulous. The owner and his waiters and waitresses fantastic even Miss World my favourite waitress

This place is just amazing. Lovely quality wines, the warmest of welcomes. The charcuterie platter is excellent and there is ample place for the kids to run around. Unmissable if you are anywhere near the area.

Very enjoyable experience, nice platter with a variety of different foods. Their wines are also interesting and work well when pairing with the cheeses and meats on the platter, and the tasting and platter arent priced too badly.

Absolutely beautiful hidden wine estate in Darling. Lovely setting. The wine tasting venues are very tastefully laid out. The wines are well priced and have won many awards.

Great place to take your family

The owner himself came around and gave us a very interesting and informative wine tasting!Excellent wines, esp the Cab Sav and 2011 Chardonnay. Highly recommended!

A hidden gem that we stumbled upon by deciding to follow the road sign just north of Darling. Up on the hill with a nice view we enjoyed good service and tasted 8 good wines for only R20. We sat outside under the shade of well established trees. Definately recommend a visit if in the Darling area. Jungle gym and rolling lawns for the kids too.

Definitely a 5/5! Brilliant wines, scrumptious platters, excellent customer service and very knowledgeable! NB! The Merlot infused pears were DIVINE! We’ll be back for sure!

A lovely experience. The dining environment was thoughtfully laid out with a lot of options. The platter for 2 was excellent and the wine tasting was very good. They have a lovely catalogue of wines. And, considering the price, some great wines.

What a beautiful experience. With a beautiful farm and view and the staff being very friendly there is also a play park for children I would defiantly recommend this place !!!

Did a Valentines chocolate pairing Mrs Basson of Ormonde wine estate, truly an unforgettable experience 👌, she is well versed in the finer details of the wine tasting experience. The cellar itself boasts Gram perfect scenery and ofcourse the wine goes without saying sooo good!Will defenitely visit again.

Updated review after 1 year (previously rated 5/5): The best wine tasting and pairing experience that I ever had. We where a group of four people and we had the chocolate, nougat wine pairing. I would definitely recommend the nougat pairing it was delicious.The wine server was really good and made the tasting experience great!When in Darling and you need to make time to come and visit Ormonde.Reservations is recommended to avoid any disappointment, especially when doing a tasting on the weekends.IVery happy with my visit here!

As you will regularly see, plenty of reviews about the cheese platter.What a great experience, and the wines where great too. We got some suggestions from the gent at Evita se perron of which wines to try, and we werent dissapointed.So far a stand out experience on our holiday trip.

It amazes me that no one talks of the pedigree of west coast wine making. It’s only an hour or so to get to Darling, no traffic associated with getting to Stellenbosch or Paarl. The wine at Ormonde is made only from grapes they grow. Their wine selection is amazing, the proprietors blend is on another level 👌🏻

Where do, i begin discribing this gem in the middle of Darling... The host was so profesional and friendly the waitress as well wow wow, wow amazing views, chilled atmosphere and the wine brilliant, I ended up buying a bottle of Ondine Chardonnay 2015.The platter oh man everything on that platter was soooo lekke.... Will definitely go again with my kids cause there is lots to do for the kids aswell🤗❤️👌

Excellent wines and the platter for two is sublime, cheese, cold meats, brilliant liver pate etc. Staff are friendly and professional. Had my Moms 70th Birthday Party here and we had a feast.A must visit when you are in Darling.

We attended the nougat and wine pairing hosted by Marisa! Absolutely lovely. Informal, lots of laughter and informative. Afterwards we had two platters - divine!! Do yourself a favour and take your friends and family for a very enjoyable morning or afternoon!

Really great wine and wine tasting is inexpensive.Wide range of wines and chocolates.Wine is served with chocolate paring (not included in wine tasting price). Quiet atmosphere and a very relaxing place. Recommended when you visit town!

So glad we found this place! The wine tasting was brilliant, and only R20 for 5 wines! The food platter was huge and absolutely delicious.My boyfriend and I didnt stop making appreciative sounds the whole time. And when we ran out of bread to eat with all the cheeses and cold meats, they brought us more, free of charge.Cheery and beautiful. We stumbled on it, but would make the trip up just for this!

The knowledgeable wine maker gave us very informative insight into each wine we tasted and it really gave the experience of chatting with an expert. The wines had a lot of personality and strong flavours - my favourites were the Ondine sauvignon blanc and the premium Vernon Basson, but I also bought a bottle of the Ormonde pinot noir, which was well-accomplished for such a temperamental cultivar.
