This accident happened on 28th January 1970. This was in the beginning of our final matric year. Johan Le Roux, our handsome head boy, threw two children from the bus, saving their lives. He sacrificed his own life with this action and was later declared a hero. His desk, which was almost next to mine, remained unoccupied for the entire year. What a sad experience it was for the entire school!
