Sounds of the gurgling streams and busy bird life filled the air as we set out for this easy hike on this overcast morning. I have been to Gibba Gorge several times....today I was simply amazed by the large number of people who were picnicking, cycling, walking their puppies or taking a stroll. The water falls were stunning. Children were fascinated by the sculptures that were made from artificial grass. Gibba offers a variety of recreational activities that will keep the entire family entertained. A lovely outing indeed.
This park is part nature reserve, part garden park, part bicycle track, part scenic trail walk. There is an outstanding amount of outdoor goodness here for the whole family, or if youre into trail running or trail cycling, this place is for you too as an individual or group. Very well maintained trail paths and generally well looked after gardens and kids play areas. Besides the 2 waterfalls, there are breathtaking views of the surrounding mountain ranges. Fair entrance pricing (based on what activities youll be doing). Highly recommend. Ill be visiting again soon to further explore this amazing park.

Great food and a great vibe. Really chilled place to spend with friends and family. The staff are really friendly and quick to service. Pets are allowed there to some extent as well with watering bowls to keep them hydrated. Sometimes theres live music that adds to the whole vibe. Theres loads of space for lots of people as well. If you enjoy the outdoors and relaxing then there are few places that come to mind that are as relaxing and entertaining.
Great for a day out with the kids and keep them busy. Awesome little adventures and discoveries as you carry on with the hiking trails.
A wonderful experience. We enjoyed the drumming circle which is held at the end of the month.The tee pee experience was new for me and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff are very friendly and their pizzas are the best.For a quiet weekend getaway or just to recharge your inner peace, Giba Gorge is the perfect place. The ablution facilities are so well maintained and lit up at night.The hike to the Waterfall and a splash in the water is so refreshing.Were definitely going back with a big group 🤗
In the bush....very nice place where you can go with your whole family and dog friendly ;-) Love this place! Two restaurants, one have live music with very laid back athmosphere.
Durban has many amazing parks & nature reserve.But this is almost certainly the best.For families, dogs, horse riders, hikers, cyclists....and if you want a bite to eat (pick from the main restaurants or take a little hike to the fantastic forests one!)

Arrived early in the morning, and had a pleasant 5km with our kids.There also isnt just one cafe, there are play area, for the non bike riders, as well as a teepee village.
We stayed over for 1 night in the TP tents, it was lovely. Food (pizza) was great, nice place for the kids lots for them to do.
Amazing food, fantastic service, something for everyone, loads of fun. Love this place.
A friendly welcome and great service. Its a pity that the couple at the table next to us did not realize that its a family environment and should have booked a room elsewhere.

Nice food and surrounds but terrible waiter. Food took very long in the 1st place. When it was ready, it was taken elsewhere in the park instead of to our table. Then waited many more minutes for cutlery and tomato sauce. Eventually fetched it myself

Excellent restaurant at Cafe Umfula! Accommodation available and great walks & mountain biking. The last stretch of road is a bit rough and must be driven slowly if using a small vehicle.
Pizzas are great. Service is friendly and helpful. Serene little place in the woods and everything is sustainable energy.Well done. Will definitely go back for the teepee experience.❤️

One of those unsuspecting and special places within the range of all Durbanites - safe and get back to raw nature - loved swimming underneath the impressive waterfall and stayed for the drumming circle and absolute madness Wood fired pizzas at the Cafe Umfula.....Take the whole family for a day walk and lunch - you wont be sorry!

The hike only started at 6pm. No one was helpful. When we returned the place was locked and we were in darkness. The only vehicle in the parking and alone. Very very upset.... but what I planned with the kids.

Giba is great place for picnics and family chillouts and it very safe even to go to waterfall they have easy marked trails .dont wait go visit this adventure place with bmx track and riding on trails

Lovely waterfalls to see after a good long walk. Let down by the degradation of indigenous vegetation and massive encroachment by invader plants.
Gibbs is a gem my hope is that it stays that way in our unpredictable SA
