This place came highly recommended - and were really happy that we made a booking. Lunch was superb, and the venue a delight. Prices were also surprisingly affordable, considering the generous portions and excellent tastes. Ample parking outside, despite the town being really busy on a weekend. Shelley was an absolute pleasure to deal with, from the online booking to the warmest welcome when we arrived. Just loved this venue!

Coming to Clarens for the first time I had high expectations of Clementines as Ive red and heard a lot about this restaurant... This place did not disappoint!! Even with my high expectations they still managed to amaze me. From the moment we made our booking everything was handled very professionally.The staff was so friendly, the atmosphere made us feel all warm and fuzzy; right at home.The fire crackling in the background was an extra bonus and the food was probably the best tasting food Ive ever had.Clementines within itself is a winning recipe and I wish the owner(s) all the best as that is what they deserve.Amazing, amazing place. Would definitely recommend 1000 times over.

The owner (Shelly) is there full time managing the restaurant and checking on all the tables to make sure they are happy. Such an awesome lady. She even was accommodating to my noisy “child”. The food was just amazing.Booking is a must though, due to the place being so popular, and to the fact that Shelly prefers not to fill up the restaurant past it’s limit to keep up the good, consistent customer service.Will definitely be back here on my next visit to Clarens to try out more on the menu!

My fiancé surprised me with a getaway and we were lucky enough to get a last minute reservation. The food is excellent, the portions are generous and are accompanied by reasonable prices.The service was quick and friendly. Unfortunately- I did not take a picture of our Mains however, I strongly recommend the Baked Chicken Penne Pasta. My fiancé had the Beef Fillet and was thoroughly satisfied. The food was sublime!I highly recommend this establishment if you are visiting Clarens.

We had a great time here. On a cold winters night, this restaurant is a perfect, cozy place to enjoy some delicious meals.There is a large variety of dishes to choose from on the menu, and a few more from their specials menu.My husband ordered the oxtail, and the meat was so tender, and fell from the bone, excellent flavours! I had a BBQ rump steak from the specials menu (it os topped with camembert and caramelised onions). The only fault I could find with my meal is that there was quite a large piece if sinew/fat in the steak. However, this did not deter from the dining experience.I would recommend that you phone early to book a table, this restaurant is very popular and with good reason!

Phenomenal food. Tender steak, perfectly prepared ribs, crunchy and fresh veggies. Well stocked bar with some beautiful whiskies and gins. Beers are the standard national stuff together with Clarens Brewery offerings. Dessert selection is different to the default restaurant offerings, and portions are generous.It does appear that potatoes in the general area are a bit touch and go, none of the servings Ive had were particularly great.Staff are brilliant, well spoken and familiar with food allergies.

Delicious food and lovely atmosphere! We had a soup of the day (tomato) and crumbed deep fried camembert starters - both great! For mains we had the oxtail stew and porkbelly - generous portions and deliciously prepared 👌🏼 quiet and relaxing atmosphere with a wide variety of drinks to choose from as well. We were just in Clarens for the long weekend and actually booked for both nights at Clementines and oh my word they didn’t disappoint, every meal (starters,mains& dessert x 7 people for two nights) was beyond fantastic. I was also alone which doesnt make for the best dining experience.The menu was very varied which is unusual in South Africa where most of the menus are typically focused on steaks.It is very popular so make sure to book

Clementines is definitely a favorite. The food was fantastic and the service to match. The steak was done to perfection. With seating outside as well as inside you will find your seat. Manager went out of her way to accommodate my taste and adjusted their recipe.

Good food and good service. Most properly the most formal restuarant in town, therefore try to dress up a bit when you visit it, otherwise you will feel akward...like me in shortpants.

The environment is very sophisticated neat and well designed. The waitresses are very attentive and friendly. The steak is absolutleg 5 stars. The chicken roulade was a bit tough and lacked some flavour and thats the 4 star rating.

25/09/2021 Today the hostess was extremely rude upon entering(we were the first to walk in) and when we asked if a table will be available for 2 her responses was rude and abrupt like she wasnt in the mood to help/service clients. If you are fully booked atleast respond kindly or politely as we ourselves were not rude at all. Weve had only kindness and politeness from other restuarants and weve never been spoken to in such a way anywhere else.We were here back in 2019 and it was a lovely experience and i looked forward to the kitties and atmosphere which is obviously not a good one anymore. Will definitely rethink ever going there again.

I love the service and the staff was actually quite friendlyI love the outside setting more than indoors as I love gardens. Its so nice and green. The vibe indoors is quite formal or medieval if thats the word.I love their gin bar, well its not really a gin bar but theres so much gin there wow well and other stuff, lol I just love gin. They even have their own gin and you can get gin and tonic from the tap wowzersI enjoyed their oxtail and beef stew*, needed a bit of salt but it was still good. Their mash potatoes were also amazing. Had snails for the first time and I dont regret it, Id literally order them again. They also had amazing chicken livers and homemade bread.Their pricing is just above average but still affordable, well it was worth it.I think they also have wifi.My phone died so it was charging while we ate. I took a few shots that I hope make you wanna visit. Well I have more videos than pictures 🤦‍♂️

Even though the set up is nice and the menu extensive service we got wasnt great we waited very long for drinks and follow ups from server we had to more than twice get up and look for servers to assist us and the food unfortunately was nothing more than average.We came here as referred clients and had very high expectations that werent met.If youd like more info more than welcome to contact me directly.We were there on the 7th of August booking 6pm under my name.

We had a great dinner experience at Clementines. The restaurant was homey and intimate and the service was excellent. The Oxtail was divine. The meat was tender and the sauce was delicious. My boyfriend had the Chicken Schnitzel which he thoroughly enjoyed (the potatoes were excellent). Definitely a must-try if you are in Clarens.

Cosy setting just off of the main square. Service was very good and frequent. Good wine and drinks selection, variety of food items and on the menu and specials menu. Salad started was so-so, lacked a bit of flavour. Our mains were excellent, the meat is tender and juicy and so tasty. Dessert (rhubarb) crumble was exceptional with home made custard!

This restaurant gives definition to 5 stars. Phenomenal food! They know what they are doing! Great experience! 😊

First time visiting Clementines. We enjoyed our evening there with our friends. We received very good service from start to finish. Best restaurant in Clarens. Try the Tagliata fillet, its a regular favourite.

Back again after a few years gap and glad to see the standard has remained at the same high level. We went with a large group and the staff where helpful and the food very tasty. This is no fussy eating with generous potions. Booking ahead is advisable. When in Clarens you have to eat in Clementines. We will be back.

A absolute must when in Clarens!Clementines brings together the farmstyle traditional country flavours and the upmarket luxury dining experience.We ordered the oxtail and the fillet and guiness pie. The meat was tender en full of flavour. The oxtail was really something special... The laid back and relaxed atmosphere combined with slow cooked food is such a treat! We ended our meal with their homemade peanut butter ice cream with butterscotch. It was a whole taste experience on its own- it reminded me how ice cream should taste... In my opinion (coming from the city) the food is very well priced for what you get. Apart from using high quality ingredients most dishes are slow cooked as per tradition. Our bill (including a tip) was R560 for 2 main meals, 1 dessert and R80 corkage.The service was incredible. Our waiter presented us with the specials of the day and made a few recommendations. I could see that she knew her menu well.The chef also did her rounds at the table and it was so nice being able to her about her passion for food. It gives the whole experience a bit of a personal touch.If I ever have the opportunity to visit Clarens again- Clementines will be on top of my to do list. There are so many other ddishes I still want to try.

Very nice restaurant with extensive food & wine / bar menu including carft beers. Good selection of starters, mainstream and dessert. Friendly owners who support the local animal shelter, the resident cat rescue Clementine lives at the restaurant. Central right on the Clarens main square.

Brilliant food and service!

We had some fantastic food and drink here. The place is very popular so be sure to call ahead and book. There is a beautiful outside section which fills up quickly. We were placed at a small table at the entrance and that did ruin the dining experience for us.Food is really good and service even better. We had a new drink before the previous one was done. Food arrived timeously too. Venue was full but service didnt falter.We had grilled pork belly, fillet steak and dessert and everything was delicious and cooked to perfection!If you happen to be in Clarens, be sure to stop here!

Had a lovely family dinner at Clementines. I has a sringbok carpacio starter which was excellent. My husband had chicken livers which were average.Mains I had the fillet steak with berry sauce and bacon. The quality of the steak was good amd it was cooked perfectly. The berry sauce and bacon did not add much to the meat. It was served with veggies and potatoe wedges which were very good. My husband had oxtail which was tender and very tasty.For dessert I had the rhubarb crumblewhich was not that good. It was too tart. My husband had the homemade peanut butter ice cream which was superb.All in all a good dining experience. It is quite pricey so come prepared.

A month ago, we had the pleasure to end our little Clarens holiday on a high note with a dinner at Clementines. We were absolutely blown away by the mix of professionalism and warmth that we experienced at this beautiful restaurant. The chef’s menu, cooking and presentation of the dishes we ordered was impressive and, in our opinion, in line with what is offered by the best restaurants in our country. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone who visits Clarens! P.S the pork belly is a must.

Wow... if you are in Clarens definitely go here for great supper and atmosphere. I actually love that theres a notice for no video calls (loud speakers), to be considerate of other dinners.

This is the destination for excellent steaks(because that is what we had). I give it a 4 because it is a bit concerning that the manager(owner?) does not know the difference between medium and well done. I ordered the special, ribeye, and when I received it, it was well done. No problem. They brought me a beautiful rare steak with no issue. The manager seemed convinced it was medium. But it was cooked through. No pink at all. That is not medium! But an above average meal anyway

Felt a little like a factory sit eat leave. I had the trinchado pasta special. The pavola was really tasty.

Steak and Ale 🍺 pie for the prize! Amazing. Had such a great time with Clementine herself (Rescue cat) keeping me company. Loved every minute and every morsel even flying solo on business. The staff is passionate and knowleagable. Alex Polizzi wouls scoff at the decor, that I am sure of, but they pull it off by being the absolute best when it comes to hosting and food. When in Clarens, if you have ANY apetite and you do not dine here, you are missing out

We were recommended to go and dine at the restaurant that by the way, it used to be the maintenance shed for South African Railway bus service. The have good variety of choices and it surely did not disappointed us.

We were hella surprised about this place... we went in with zero expectations and walked out with complete awe.
