This beautiful, peaceful, lush park in Claremont is such a Mother City gem. Perfect for picnics, a stroll and quiet reflection. A nature lovers delight! Entry is FREE, but donations towards the upkeep of the gardens is welcome and can be placed in the box at the entrance.

Lovely little garden in the heart of Claremont. I thoroughly enjoyed walking around the well-maintained paths. It only gets 4 stars because u r never away from the sound of cars while walking so it is not a truly restful experience

Beautiful Gardens th perfect place to unwind and to enjoy the magnificent trees and a window of what the Claremont lowlands was like before developement this Arboretum has historical roots as it was founded in 1845 by Ralph Henry Arderne and hi son Henry Mathew Arderne.

The Arderne Gardens are so pretty, its the perfect place to take your little children, theyll enjoy it a lot.Dogs are allowed, but please keep them on a leash in order to respect everyone sharing the gardens.Its a nice place for picnics, Instagram pics, tiktok videos, or just for taking in the beauty of nature.Enjoy!

Nice and clean, people still tend to litter right outside the gate saw 2 popsicle packets. If the ice cream guy is selling there, he can pls ask the folk not to litter. The gardens were lovely, nice to sit in the winter sun and day dream.

Nice place to relax on a Sunday. Not as good as Kirstenbosch gardens

The gardens are small but beautiful. It has one of the oldest trees in South Africa. It is very clean even the public bathrooms are spotless. The security staff is also friendly the only downside is that there are no cafés inside the garden. But in the road where its located you will find many restaurants and its super close to one of Cape Towns top malls Cavendish Mall.

Well worth a walk and visit. Special....

This is a hard one to do because I really love the place, and the incredible peace I always find there. I love the staff, and the care they take, and that they always remember me. Friends of Arderne Gardens really do a great job of caring and planning as well. The one thing I was really disappointed about, and quite upset about is that in the worst of the drought last year, they let the fish die without removing them from dry pond. It made me sad to do that. I asked several institutions to help, and the remaining huge, and ancient koi fish were permanently removed. I do still go there a lot, and its a great place to be except on weekends it gets very busy with wedding photo shoots.Its safe, clean, and suits people of any age. The toilet facilities are clean as well.

Just a lovely spot of tranquility off main Rd. I can understand why so many weddings take place there. Look out for the white squirrel when youre there
